Recently installed SMS pop up from the market, but once i've read the message and close the pop up, and later decide to reply, the original text has disappeared. Is there an alternative to this app?

I had my htc hero for a while and I still can't find the IM application that it should come with. It is under manage applications but I can't find the actual application. Is there an alternative application that uses SMS for AIM?

View 2 Replies View RelatedTheres a buzz going around at the moment in this forum whereby any faults in the phone may be caused by a task killer. I infact removed mine in order to do some experimenting with various faults that my phone had developed, but this obviously means that lots of stuff now runs in the background without me noticing it, a prime example being that my ringtone app turns on every time the phone rings. So - without the aid of a task killer or a safety net, how can you find out whats running on stealth and whats the best way to turn these off without going into file manager folders and hoping that the phone doesn't ring before you finished?

When I initiate a gTalk conversation with an invisible status, the conversation usually remains short - like an SMS conversation. One downside is that people never initiate conversations on gTalk with me while I'm set to invisible.

However, I can't get it to work, so, I'm looking for assistance. I'm aware of the fact that this may mean different things on different devices. I'm ok with that. I simply need a way to, programatically, and at run time, place an item at a SPECIFIC location. I don't want to rely on gravity (or the laws of thermodynamics). I just want to specify a location and have the element appear there :)

View 3 Replies View RelatedAs most of you know, the Inc will drop 8-10% of its charge within 10 minutes of being taken of the charger with no use.I stumbled accross a different method for "bump charging" that does not require the phone being turned off.After I take my phone off the charger I let it do its dropping for no reason dance.At about 92% I plug the phone back in, turned on. Once it hits 100% I unplug it.After that second charge the phone will stay at 100% for an hour or so with no usage.I drive to work, about an hour, so I dont use the phone since its too early to talk to anyone.I left with 100% and when I got to work it was still at 100%. This is with my phone connected to HFL through bluetooth.

1. what if you used one of those screen protector and cut a circle to place onto the camera glass? will that degrade picture quality?

3. like the magnetic spacer, maybe add a small strip of rubber with adhesive on the back to raise up the top of the phone and create a very small space between the surface and the camera. similar to feets found under a laptop.
4. small adhesive rubber dots... like those placed on your laptop's bezel around the lcd
One of the alternative app stores is asking for unaltered, unedited capture from the app as a video. Plus I'm also interested in cleaner video than I get by focusing a camcorder on an Android on a table. Who knows how to do that? I think I found some posts that indicate Mark Murphy may have solved this with a tool that goes through DDMS. If so, I'll get that tool and donate.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have tried using both launcher pro and ADW launcher, who have a reputation of being light launchers, and no matter how much I mess about with the settings, I always experience the same thing:
1: They are often not fluid when swiping screens, showing a little sign of lag or sluggishness that you do not experience with the Sense UI and which drives me crazy.
2: When unlocking the phones, the first swipe is always followed by a noticeable amount of latency.
This bothers me quite a bit, because I really like these launchers and I know of no other way to get the (from my POV) main advantage behind them (the dock).Any advice? I have tried messing about with the memory settings etc to no avail.
I would really like an unlock screen that requires a code (much like the iphone one). I find that the unlock pattern is not as effective due to the fact that the screen smudges, allowing others to see what your pattern is.

The swipe up/down feature is terrible since it results in many undesired call answers and ignores while removing the phone from my pocket. I know that it's possible to simply have the 'answer' and 'disconnect' buttons present, but that's even less useful. Has anyone ever implemented a different means of answering calls for this phone? I've been searching for this since I got it.
