View 10 RepliesJust found my tomtom mains / usb charger that I bought in NZ.. Comes with US, UK, AUS/NZ & Euro plugs and cost me ?15.00. Spec is: output 5v - 1.0A I presume this should work as it's the same out out as the HTC. You would need a USB / Micro SB cable. Would this work OK on the Desire? I hate to damage my new 'toy'

View 4 Replies View RelatedWill virtually any mini-USB based cable, car charger, and wall charger work with my HTC Droid Eris? Mini-USB cables are generally universal, but I want to ensure that I use a compatible car charger and wall charger that won't damage my phone. The official Verizon accessories of course seem overpriced, if any generic solution would work equally well.
For example, I am considering this product on amazon.com: Amazon.com: Home Travel Wall Charger + Rapid Cell Phone Car Charger + USB Data Sync Charge Cable for HTC Touch Pro 2 / Tilt 2 / Hero / Imagio / Pure / Touch Diamond 2 / Droid Eris: Cell Phones & Service. Overall, this mini-USB cable / car charger / wall charger combo gets positive reviews, but I've heard of random glitches for some cheap chargers.
If you are needing an extra ac adapter, car charger and sync cable, I found an awesome deal here...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VTEG7Q/ref=oss_T15_product. For 5.95 + shipping of like 2 something you can't beat it. Ordered mine today. Now I can keep a charger at work and you never know when your sync cable may die and a car charger.
can I use the same car charger I use on My Droid when I get the X?
View 29 Replies View RelatedI am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else have a VERY loose wall charger? Last night I plugged in my EVO and went to bed but this morning, I woke up and found that the wall charger was sticking ever so slightly out of the socket and it didn't charge one bit. For me, the wall charger will pull out with very little force and won't charge when it sticks out of the wall even a little bit.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm searching for android phones that can use video out to the tv for a research project. I'm considering the HTC Touch Pro.
Is there anything I have to do specifically to get the video out to work (for displaying my app on the tv)? or will the phone just display a running app on the tv without extra work?
I'm trying to determine whether or not my phone is defective, or if this is a current problem with the Cliq.
Of the apps I've downloaded, only a few of them have worked. Of those few that work, some don't work right. Has anyone had problems with these apps crashing on them, or just not working correctly?
- Nice Battery (see description at bottom of: My Ultimate CLIQ settings (so far))
- WeatherBug (kept showing the wrong location, crashed when trying to change location)
- Snake - doesn't work just says its "paused"
- RingDroid - crashes when I select the "Facebook Pop" button
- Layar - screen is rotated 90 degrees at all times
There have been others, but usually I just uninstall them right after discovering it doesn't work right.
I've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal. But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine. However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + call ended), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). GSM sends and receives calls and texts but doesnt work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and auto and WCDMA only show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still cant use the internet at all on 3g even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable. Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?
So I made a discovery - my dialpad doesn't work during a call. Even if I bring it up via the softkeys, the numbers don't register a tap...anyone. else have this issue or is it just my phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that while charging my EVO using the stock wall charger and any micro usb cable that there is a loud whining noise. It is pretty loud and can even hear it while watching TV. I have read that the Droid Incredible charger has the same issue as well and have tried to switch the prong orientatoin and still no luck. I have used my other HTC charger that I have from my old Touch Diamond and don't hear any type of noise. I have read that it is the capacitors in the charger making the noise. I have tested and the charger still makes the noise after the green LED light has come on.

View 28 Replies View RelatedI have the VZW car charger they were bundling back in November, it was not meant for the Droid as it wasn't even listed, it was meant for BB etc. What I have found is that it doesn't give out enough power to charge the Droid at the same time that you are using GPS so the phone actually discharges the battery as you are using. I found the Moto charger on Amazon and am wondering if anyone else has used it and if it provides enough power to charge the phone and use GPS. If you have the charger could you look at what it says the specs are on it,

View 38 Replies View RelatedI've searched and searched but still cannot find a precise answer. I bought a powerjolt 2.1 amp car charger from amazon, since I've had it I've noticed it takes forever for the phone to charge! (37% to 67% in 2 hours and it was on stand-by the entire time) So after doing some research I found that the phone is charging in usb mode which has a max of 500ma. So my question is, could this be fixed with a different usb cord? Or is there a way to force the phone while charging, to "ac" vs "usb"? I have also tried a friends 1amp belkin charger with the same result. And I have used the stock usb cable and 2 different aftermarket cables. Im clueless at this point! I did just buy a charge only usb cable from amazon.. not sure if that will make a difference or not since it doesn't transfer data.

It did not say "charging" and it actually never di gain any battery life from it.Maybe it was defective? So I decided to go and get a Jabra USB car charger and still the same problem. Should I be seeing "charging" on the phone just like you see when you are hooked up to a pc?

Can anyone explain why or help me out?I have tried multiple ports in my computers and my xbox and I've even used my old USB Cable that still fits this phone but it will never charge on either of them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust sitting here browsing and can feel this heat commin from the left side. It's comming from the base of the charger. The cable is also warm about a 1/4 way up. I'm sure charging and using it comsumes a bit of power. The battery is probably only 25% charged and I'm quite certain in stops charging once full. Maybe its normal but seems excessive to me.
