I purchased a car charger from an independent Sprint store for my SPH-M900 moment. When the guy scanned it, the price came up $5.00. He said, "oh, it's okay, it's the right charger in the wrong box." I figured he should know what he is doing (that was my first mistake) so I went on my way. When I looked at the charger, it is a model #MOVR9PC, which I believe is for a Motorola phone. When I finally found that charger online, it says it is compatible with a Moment 1350.
I am nervous about using this with my phone. When I called the 800# for tech support, they told me that right model # is PVX8720C and to return this one to the store for an exchange.Does anyone know for sure whether or not this is okay to use with my phone? I have been told that "universal" ones and non-brand-name chargers "may" be fine, or they "may" kill your phone. Deciding between a $25-30 car charger or the $100 deductible to replace my phone, I will go for the Sprint car charger. Please help!

I went to the Sprint store and bought an extra charger for my Moment. They gave me a Palm charger. The palm charger outputs 5 volts and 850 milliamps. I believe the charger that comes with the Moment outputs 5 volts and 700 milliamps? They said it's a "universal" charger and that it's fine.Anybody know if this will cause any problems? The new charger fits when I plug it in to the phone but it's not as smooth fitting as the charger that came with the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased a "generic" wall charger at Best Buy. If it turn the phone off and then plug in the charger the phone turns on and boots up. If I plug the charger in while the phone is on and then turn the phone off, it immediately reboots. It's more of a minor annoyance, just wondering if anyone else has had this experiences. Running 2.1 (joeykrim 2.0.4).

I was under the impression that as long as it gets connected to the computer somehow it would be able to sync up but the computer doesn't recognize me inserting the phone. View 12 Replies View RelatedIt seems like I have to jiggle any charger just right to get my phone to recognize the charger as plugged in. It never used to do it, but I think I may know what caused it. I was worried when I originally bought the 'Sprint' car charger and tried it for the first time (WAY over priced, but I figured better safe than sorry ). Compared to the included USB and a/c chargers, the Sprint car charger barely fit in the unit, and I mean it took effort to get it plugged in. I thought that was an intended feature, so that the phone didn't accidentally unplug if I picked up the phone while driving (like how the Razor charger used to fall out, if the phone was held sideways)So it seems that the Sprint brand car charger messed stretched the port inside my phone. Now the USB charger and the a/c and the car charger all have to be plugged in 'just right' to charge. I guess I'm going to have to risk swapping out for a phone that may not be in the perfect condition of my current phone Because, although I love it, it's of little use it it doesn't have any power.
In fact, last night before going to bed, I plugged my phone into the USB charger. I set it just right, held my breath, and left it on the desk charging. This morning I woke up to find my phone COMPLETELY DEAD with the USB plugged in... So on my way to school I tried to charge my phone via the car charger, I set it 'just right' but then if I hit a bump in the road the charge would stop, and then maybe restart after the next bump. And god forbid I answered a phone call, because that would disable the charging every time. So right now I have the phone charged at 5% sitting next to me, connected to my computer and intermittently charging via the USB cable. I really DO NOT want to swap out this phone for another Moment because everything else on it works. The GPS is fine, the battery is fine, all of it. And now it's wrecked because I wanted to take the 'safe' route using Sprint's car charger.

But I can not find an EXTERNAL battery charger. Google search only turned up a "universal" charger where the contacts are manipulated to match up with the battery. Not a good option. Anyone have a source for an external battery charger which I can use to charge spare batteries without using the phone?

Now after the update - my text notification ringer goes off when I plug in and unplug the charger. I tried turning off the "Notification Ringtone" - and that worked to kill the charger plug/unplug sound - but it also turned off the ring when I get an incoming text. That just will not work - turning that on and off all the time. Is there a way to just disable the sound when the charger is plugged/unplugged?

I bought a Rocketfish charger from BB to have an extra one I can leave downstairs. When I charge the phone with it, after about 5 minutes the screen lights up on my phone and stays lit until I unplug the charger. Then the phone will go back out like it should.
I though there might be a difference so my nephew gave me his home charger he dont need. Its the charger sprint sent him by mistake for his phone. He has the Blackberry and they sent him the micro-usb wall charger. He gave it to me and when I plug my phone in with that charger the screen lights up and never goes out until I unplug the charger. I dont want to mess up the phone and was just wondering if there is still a difference with the chargers even though they are all micro-usb chargers?
Why does my moment ringer go off when I plug in the charger and when I take it out? It goes off only when I slide down the notification bar.

I have the correct bios (I've used several bioses to make sure my specific bios file wasn't corrupted) and I also tried several .bin PS1 roms. When I try to start the game, all I get is a couple of seconds of black screen before it returns to the rom selection screen.
Has anyone gotten it to work? If so, how? If not, is it because of power specs? Is it possible to get around it?
I updated to 2.1 yesterday and couldn't get the Swype I used on 1.5 to work. I downloaded 2 other Swype files. One from somewhere else but all it did was FC and another posted here but the resolution wasn't right so all it did was press the wrong keys. Can anyone point me to a Swype that works fluently with 2.1?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo when I bought this phone I was told GPS will work without service. I'm in Asia right now for 9 months and it doesn't. From my research, I think the problem is that agps does a call to verify that local service is available before it will kick the regular gps in. Forgive my crude tech speak, but I imagine there must be some sort of workaround. Is there any way to fake the phone into thinking it has a sprint service signal or is there a way to turn off agps? There must be some sort of hack I can do. I hope someone can give me something, this phone is an expensive brick here. And no, turning on airplane mode enabling wifi and gps location services don't help. I've tried every possible combination, I can't use the GPS without the phone verifying the sprint network."you need a network connection to get the api call to work. Once its running you don't need the network for it to keep running. A guy in the Droid forum told me that.
He says that if you turn your phone on in another country the api would not get some sort of response (license) from the network and the gps would not work"
i try to tether with my rooted 2.1 and when i check the debbuging on my phone it disconnects my usb.

My PC sees the phone as Android not Samsung mobile device. I can't seem to find a way for it to get the drivers. I wanted to try a different ROM then the one I'm running now.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my moment about one month. I noticed the alarm clock sometime worked, sometime not. Especially set up run time over 5 or 6 hours. If it passed the setup time, the alarm clock didn't run, but the setup time still showed on the locked screen (before you unlock your phone). It should show the next run time, not the last run time. I use advanced task killer to kill everything before I go to bed. Is that related?
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo, I was running the leaked 2.1 for a while (which worked perfectly except for youtube fwiw) and finally decided last week to upgrade to the official 2.1 release. Youtube runs smoothly now and my performance seems slightly faster, but my GPS does not work at ALL.
Neither Sprint nor Google Navigation works. I tried turning off the "Use wireless networks" setting and it didn't help at all. Anybody else having this problem? Is there any way to fix this? Am I going to need to re-install my OS? Do I need a replacement phone?
Background: Locale is an app which uses GPS to permit the user to define conditions, based on where the phone is. For example, when phone detects it is at work, it can set ringer to OFF, vibrate to ON, and WiFi to ON.
Some of the comments in the Market indicate that Locale does not work on the Moment. I had a Hero and Locale worked great, but now I ditched there Hero for the Moment and can not get Locale to work.
Has anyone been able to get Locale to work on the Moment? This will let me know if maybe I just need to keep trying stuff to get it to work.
Does anyone have an alternative for Locale? Mostly I would just like to automatically turn OFF my ringer when I get to the courthouse as cell phones are confiscated by the judge if they ring.
Has anybody gotten psx4droid to work on their moment? I've tried and cannot.

View 21 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Moment, it's running the Radioactive Froyo rom(so it's rooted)...but I cant seem to download Launcherpro. I have tried to download it straight from the market...NO DICE! I went to the launcherpro website downloaded it straight to SD and used OI Installer AND Appinstaller to install...NO DICE! All I keep getting is an error message that says "install unsuccessful". Launcherpro's FAQ says that if this happens then you have an android OS that is not compatible, but says nothing on how to fix or what to do about it.
Searched high and low for help in other threads, but most of them focused on once the app was already downloaded (including the launcherpro website), I cant even get this one installed, I'm really stumped...and I dont want to be "that guy" who didnt do a search in order to find an answer to a simple problem, but honestly, I've been trying for two days to fix this.
