View 3 RepliesI want to move a PDF file onto my miniSD card, but what folder do I put it in? I have inside a "DCIM" folder...
"100ANDRO" seems to be empty
"100MEDIA" seems to be my camera pictures, since my sense UI update.
"camera" seems to be my old camera pictures, before sense UI
"VIDEO" seems to be empty, I assume any video I take would go here.
Where the DCIM folder is I have a couple others, download, ime, reware, rosie_scroll. Should I make the folder in this part? or in one of those folders? an I just make folders? Change their name? I have an HTC Magic if that matters.
i am developing an application and i am new to android. i would like to know wheather i can import/move text file saved in sdcard of android phone into the database of application developing. i would like to know the code for doing this thing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dropbox folder with a Microsoft Excel document stored in it. This excel file contains a list of web links on it.
My goal is to use my Galaxy S4 phone to open this file though dropbox and then click on the links and then have the web pages open up in my phone browser.
Currently, my Galaxy S4 phone does have the dropbox app on it. My phone is able to access the excel file in dropbox just fine by using the Polaris Office App. However, when I click on the links within the Excel file, it does not forward me to the web pages.
Is there some way for me to click on the links on this Excel file and then be forwarded to the corresponding web pages? Perhaps there is an App other than Polaris which is capable of doing this?
I have been using file expert long time. I am very like it.But somehow after updating to 5.0.0, the Dropbox can not access anymore. It bring browser app and open an authorize page. Click allow button, it stuck on this page forever.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having an issue with both Google Drive and Dropbox.
I have all my roms, odin restore things, apk files, custom ringtones all stored in Google Drive, previously in Dropbox (I didn't like having to re-login each time I restored the app and data when I installed a new rom). I also store the actually folders themselves on my Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Tab 10.1, both on 4.0.4.
But my issue is that, whenever I download a file (.apk and .epub are the ones I tried because I was trying to install an app and add an ebook to the nook app.) it doesn't download correctly or something, because my .apks all say "Parsing error" and the Nook app tells me it can't open my ebooks even though, I can open both on my computer (Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, service pack 1). This happens on both my Galaxy Nexus and Tab, on both dropbox and Google Drive. Both Google Drive and Dropbox say they have synced the files correctly.
I realized it was Google Drive and Dropbox, because when I transferred the files directly from my computer to the each device, they worked. The app installed, and the ebook opened,.
I'd like to only use dropbox for my backups to save space on my nexus 4. how can i go about deleting my local backups yet still keeping my cloud ones and not having them erased my next sync?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a text widget that can access a text file that is located on my phone or dropbox and display the contents of the file. It should always update itself as soon as there is a change in the text file. Does an app like this exist and where can I find it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat's up with storage, I have downloaded around 70 apps from central and I am up to 43 mb storage, my card is still at 7.32 gb. Anyway to move the apps to the SD or do we just have to wait for froyo? Will the phone become unresponsive or slow once I reach 0 mb or will the data will automatically be used on the SD?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both have the Eris and have stayed on 1.5. I got the 2.1 OTA yesterday morning. I've loaded it and am enjoying it quite a bit. I keep checking her phone as we are on the same contract (she's a second line on my contract), but the 2.1 OTA hasn't come into her phone yet. I was wondering if there's a 2.1 file that I would have downloaded OTA, that I can move over to her phone and manually install.
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I finally DL'ed the root explorer app just so I could move the su file and update to 2.2. Well after I longpressed the su file and selected move, I went back to /system/xbin to paste it. I selected paste and it told me that I "Cannot paste here because the file system is read only." What? Is no one else having this issue?
View 11 Replies View RelatedAnyway, we all got 2.2 now and can "move apps to the SD" card. I presume one might want to move apps to the SD card to "free up some space" but is that the ONLY reason to move the apps to the card?? Is anyone NOT WAITING until space on the phone is an issue and moving the apps to the card right now?? Are there certain apps that are recommended to be on the phone for proper/faster performance? (I know this was an issue with the Palm Centro I used to have where certain apps HAD TO reside on and launch from the phone)?? What are the general pros/cons (if any, besides "saving space," perhaps regarding performance or other concerns) with leaving apps on the phone vs. the SD card?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am going to try to hard reset my Incredible in hopes it fixes a couple problems I'm seeing since getting 2.2. I want to back up my apps though, so I go into manage applications and pick an app, but the 'move to SD card' option is grayed out. Also, to hard reset all I have to do is from home screen touch menu-settings-privacy- factory data reset - reset phone. Or is there something I should do instead?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have taken over a Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 from a friend and the on board Ram is insufficient. I have searched and see that it is possible to increase the Ram by using part of the SD card. Apparently, the phone needs to be rooted first.
So I downloaded this universal root piece of software, but it sits in the download folder on the SD card....sd/download...
how do I move the it so that it sits directly on the sd/ rather than on the sd/download folder.
I have a rooted HTC Desire HD with a custom ROM (Android RevolutionHD).
I have heard a lot of about moving the apps to the SD card to save space in the memory's phone, but does it really usefull apart of "saving memory"? or it can make slower the phone's boot because loading apps from the sd?
Need to know more about advantages and disadvantages of moving apps to the SD.
My priority is a faster / smoother phone UI and boot, being the memory space not so important.
I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" and I'm trying to move my apps to SD card as my internal memory is almost full. I've tried some apps from Google play but none of them work with me. In settings/application manager there's isn't the option to move the app to external storage.
