Sep 26, 2010How can I move my images onto my SD card as I am running out of space. It looks like it's not possible in which case what's the point of adding a card in the first place.

General :: HTC Desire HD - Move APP To SD Card?
Jan 11, 2013I have a rooted HTC Desire HD with a custom ROM (Android RevolutionHD).
I have heard a lot of about moving the apps to the SD card to save space in the memory's phone, but does it really usefull apart of "saving memory"? or it can make slower the phone's boot because loading apps from the sd?
Need to know more about advantages and disadvantages of moving apps to the SD.
My priority is a faster / smoother phone UI and boot, being the memory space not so important.

Sep 24, 2010I have some 80MB left on the phones memory, I have downloaded a lot of apps, tried them and deleted most of them (but far from all). There are still a lot of apps I would like to DL and try out, but before doing that I would like to move as much as possible to the SD card, it says I have 3.67 GB available, so plenty of room. However When I go to Applications--> Manage Applications the ption to move them to the SD card is grayed out and the option is not available to me. What do I need to do to turn it on?

Aug 16, 2010Anyway I used the ''force apps to sd'' thingy, where you change the install location by connecting your phone to your PC and use commandprompt. You know: Lorin Bute - Home - How to force apps to move to the SD card onFroyo. Everything worked great until recently when the phone became unable to install many apps when microsd was chosen as the install location and some apps still wont install even with the setting set back to default. I can still force already installed apps to move to sd. One other odd thing is that I tried to install a GPS app and the installation failed (with the default install location). Then I quit almost all running processes using the built in process manager and then the install worked. After a reboot I tried to replicate my actions but no matter what I did I could no longer install the same app. My phone's inability to install some apps appears to be completely random. What's worse is that I installed froyo around the same time so maybe it has a part to play in my problem.

I realise there are a few threads about this, but I thought I would make a new one for my easier guide, and hopefully people will find it more easily as they won't have to scroll through pages of other threads to find an answer. I am now successfully running most apps from my SD Card now. I just thought I would make an easier guide as the others are fairly complex for noobs like me............

Sep 15, 2010Just followed instructions on how to move apps to sd card on an unrooted device....all worked well, moved what i wanted to, but would now like to put phone back to default settings to install apps to phone memory.
I tried to open run command on my pc with phone connected and typed pm setInstallLocation 0.....but all that comes up is command is not recognized.

May 14, 2010I restored my apps but any new apps I download are saved on phone memory not SD. I have downloaded root explorer, but I don't know how to move apps or set default to save to card. Anyone know? I also have an app appearing twice in the menu when i install it. Removing and reinstalling causes the same. Also, how do i delete footprints and Google talk?

Few n00b questions to clear up if I can! 1) Once partitioned, I believe that all app data will be able to be installed on the SD, as opposed to leaving a few hundred KB's on the internal? If I make a direct copy of all SD Card contents, partition the SD, and copy back, will the App's still appear 'as normal', or is a fresh backup/install required? 2) If the answer to the first question is that I CAN simply copy back to the SD, can I then use the "Move to Phone" and "Move to SD Card" options to move ALL of the app data, including the original few hundred KB's originally on internal? Feel like a douche asking these just can't quite get my head around it trawling through the other threads.

How To Move Set Of Images In Resources / Drawable - HDPI To Assets Folder
Dec 13, 2013I am trying to move a set of images currently in the resources/drawable-hdpi folder to the Assets folder.
These images are copied to the private application directory when the app is installed.
When I do this the resulting image is smaller than when I had the image in the resources folder. i.e. the baked beans image is smaller than the others. If I load the baked beans images from the drawables folder it is the same size as the other product images.
I have tried to scale the image but it has no effect.

HTC EVO 4G :: Way To Move App To Sd Card?
Jun 5, 2010What's up with storage, I have downloaded around 70 apps from central and I am up to 43 mb storage, my card is still at 7.32 gb. Anyway to move the apps to the SD or do we just have to wait for froyo? Will the phone become unresponsive or slow once I reach 0 mb or will the data will automatically be used on the SD?

I presume one might want to move apps to the SD card to "free up some space" but is that the ONLY reason to move the apps to the card?? (I know this was an issue with the Palm Centro I used to have where certain apps HAD TO reside on and launch from the phone)?? Sep 19, 2010I am going to try to hard reset my Incredible in hopes it fixes a couple problems I'm seeing since getting 2.2. I want to back up my apps though, so I go into manage applications and pick an app, but the 'move to SD card' option is grayed out. Also, to hard reset all I have to do is from home screen touch menu-settings-privacy- factory data reset - reset phone. Or is there something I should do instead?

So I downloaded this universal root piece of software, but it sits in the download folder on the SD card....sd/download...
