I'm having some boot delay in my Galaxy Ace. It runs 2.3.4 gingerbread and takes 1 minute to boot up ! When i bought it, it was very fast indeed, arround 20~40 seconds to boot.
My boot starts with the Samsung words, then an android animation comes, it ends, then something writed Google in the screen and bellow it has the loading circle, the same when you're waiting a video on YouTube.
I can do something to speed it up ?

Running into another issue regarding my S4 here. Before the 4x2 clock widget I had would always be in sync to that of my carrier's time. Now, when I scroll around my phone or go back to check the time or even after unlocking my device, the widget is a good minute or two behind of my actual provider's time. It takes itself about 30 seconds to correct itself, I was just curious if there is anything I can do to fix this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen typing on the keyboard, I frequently use secondary symbols, by holding down a button and wait for the secondary options to appear. However, it takes some time for that to happen, and the unnatural pauses makes me a bit frustrated when i'm typing. I like typing fast, and I barely tap the buttons when typing. I wanna know how I can decrease the time needed to hold down the buttons until the secondary options appear, so that I can test a few values and find something I am comfortable with.
View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to change the delay/snooze time on calendar reminders? (I'm not talking about the default time to remind you ahead of an event). For instance, when a reminder goes off, mine currently chimes to remind me every 5 minutes until I dismiss it. I'd like to be able to change it to 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes. Right now, if I'm in a meeting or something and I snooze it, it keeps chiming every 5 minutes and gets annoying to the point where I have to dismiss it. Then I run the risk of forgetting it.

However, in the past couple days I've found that when the phone does its auto-timeout, it takes up to ten seconds for it to switch back on. By that I mean that when I press the power button just to get to the passcode screen (not to turn the whole thing on), it takes much longer than it did when I first got it.
I've uninstalled recent apps, but it's done nothing. What to do?

I have done the factory reset few times also. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a ~1.5 year old Samsung Galaxy S3 (North American) rooted, with Cyanogenmod 11 installed.
Ever since installing CM11, my phone has been restarting itself with some regularity.
Today, with over half the battery left, the phone seemingly turned itself off. I do not believe this is an issue with the cyanogenmod OS and I also don't believe the issue is related to the restarting I've been experiencing. These restarts, in the vast majority of occasions, started with a brief freeze, then screen turning off, before the phone automatically starting up again. However, this time, the phone did not freeze before the screen went black, and the phone did not restart itself. I repeatedly tried pressing the power button to unlock, and when that didn't work, I tried long-pressing to either turn the phone off or back on. When that also failed to work, I pulled the battery, and put it back in. The Samsung logo came up, and then the Galaxy S3 logo with the Cyanogenmod logo came up, then the screen went black again.
And this is where I'm at currently. After the screen goes black, I can't get it to come back on. Long pressing the power button does not turn it back on. Only when I pull the battery and put it back in, does the boot process start. Every time, during the first few seconds of the boot process, the phone turns itself off. Sometimes it only lasts until the Samsung logo, sometimes to the GS3/CM logo.
If I plug the phone in, with the battery inserted, I briefly see a battery on the screen, but again, the phone shuts down.
If I plug the phone in, with the battery out, the LED turns red, the phone vibrates, but nothing happens, and the LED goes out.
I've read about power buttons getting stuck, but this doesn't seem to be the issues since my phone does not go into a boot loop sequence.
I've tried leaving the battery out for an hour or so, but there is no change.
I've also tried pressing power+home+vol down and power+home+vol up, and they seem to work, until again, the phone shuts off. So one of these combinations leads me to warnings about changing OS before shutting down after about the same number of seconds, and the other leads me to the boot logo with the blue text on the top left corner before shutting down.
To me, this doesn't seem to be an issue with software, but with the phone staying powered..somehow.
I switched my phone off and took the battery out, now when it comes on it doesn't go past the boot screen (with the big S) what can/should I do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy grand Duos, it had Android 4.1.2 (stock) and I wanted to upgrade it to Android KitKat (4.4) so I rooted it and I upgraded first to 4.2.2 using RR (Resurrection ROM) and it worked flawlessly then I used CM 11.0, I flashed CM 11.0 (the ROM) and gapps, but now it just won't boot, it's stuck at the Galaxy Grand Duos logo and it just won't go to the main screen or anything, did I brick it or what?

I can't wipe the phone since I cannot access the command menu (or whatever it is called when you hold down the home, volume up and power buttons.)
It was working perfectly on night. I turned it off and the next day when I turned it on this was shown. It was not dropped and there is no water damage.
Samsung screwed me over. I sent the phone to them and when they said it was not under warranty I agreed to pay the price and sent the mail back.
I then received my phone a week later saying I had not accepted the repair price.
I have a bricked Samsung Galaxy S2 and have been doing some research on how to fix this. There is a lot of info online, but I don't understand most of it as it is too technical and I need having it translated into layman's terms!
Context:
- Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100)
- Unlocked
- Purchased from Kogan 2 years ago (no longer under warranty)
- Appears to be Polish stock based on the packaging and manual
- I am in Australia
Problem:
- Phone is stuck in boot loop, unable to get past the intro flash screen that says Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I19100.
- It keeps resetting itself and going back to flash screen infinitely. I need to remove the battery in order for it to stop doing that.
- I'm unable to get into the mode that would allow me to do a factory reset, however I am able to get into download mode.
What I think I need to do, but need verifying:
- Download Odin onto my PC. (I think Odin is software that allows me to access the core of the phone via my PC, is this correct?)
- Download the correct version of the operating system. From what I can gather, there are different versions depending upon which network you are with. Because my phone is unlocked, I need to get an unlocked version but I'm not sure whether I should get one designed for Australia or for Poland (or whether it matters)?
- Connect PC and phone via USB cable
- Turn on Odin
- Somehow use Odin to reinstall O/S on my phone
Questions:
- Are the steps above correct or am I missing something?
- Does it matter which version of Odin I install or can I just do a google search for Odin downloads?
- Where do I find the file I need to reinstall the O/S?
- Where can I find instructions on how to use Odin once I have the correct file to install?
My Galaxy gio is rooted and is with a clockworkmod recovery. Yesterday, I tried to flash a custom kernel. After flashing successfully (through cwm recovery), i reboot my phone and then it stuck at boot screen.I did many searches but cannot understand any.I can go into recovery and download mode which is i think so required by odin.I wonder if I can flash any stock rom again easily. Need zip file with which i can put in sd card and install zip through cwm recovery by which i can unbrick my phone. I tried wipe data and factory reset but nothing worked.

View 6 Replies View RelatedCrashed my WP8 and after a lot of hunting, found an old Galaxy S GT-I9003, running Froyo. Installed Kies and updated to Gingerbread. Phone worked fine for the first 5 hours (my first time with an android, fell in love with the UI and the apps) However, phone suddenly hanged and shut down on its own. Been stuck in a boot loop since then: between the Galaxy screen and the Samsung logo screen, which goes back to the Galaxy screen. I can boot into recovery and download. Already tried reset/cache wipe. No avail. Tried the emergency firmware thing in Kies. It sort of went halfway and then suddenly blacked out, and after that even that wont work, Kies refuses to recognize the phone.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi bought a white Samsung galaxy tab 4 7.0 8gb white from Canada and i decided to turn ART on so i did and the tab was stuck on the boot animation for over 30 minutes. So i went into recovery and deleted cache and data. It booted up fine and i was relieved. Before i did anything on it i turned on ART again and it boot looped again, stuck at the boot animation. This happens every time i turn ART on this tablet. No i am not rooted and i don't have any custom ROM, kernels, or recoveries on this tablet. try turning on ART on their galaxy tab 4 7.0 and see if ART works?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a T-679. it is only lightly modded. I still have stock UVLE1 with Clockworkmod recovery...v5.5 i think. All has been well until recently I have been trying out a lot of new apps. recently i got the adw launcher and camera sensor. now when i reboot i see one Samsung logo, then tmobile/android logo and jingle, then another Samsung logo and it hangs here. if i wait some time and start pushing buttons I see that the phone seems to be active. if i push the power button then the vol-up/down i hear the sound of the volume being adjusted. also very curiously i just found that if i hold down the home button and press the power button i hear a shutter sound!? In some instances, haven't figured out if its a particular button press of just random, i can get the lock screen to come up, which then allows me to unlock the phone and all works normally... until i reboot again.
edit: I just checked I have CWM recovery v5.5.04,b I have a backup from a while back and i just made another backup I also tryied wipe cache/dalvik which i thought it worked because i think it booted directly after that, but i just tryed again and this time i see no benefit/effect
My Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) was rebooting itself for the past few days, randomly. Last night, it did it again, but didn't boot back up. Instead, it is now stuck on an infinite boot loop - it gets as far as the splash screen (Galaxy SIII logo), then reboots, on a loop.
I've never tried to flash or root the device, I only used the official OTA updates from Samsung.
The first thing I tried was to remove the battery, SIM card and MicroSD card for 5 minutes. I then wiped the Cache Partition through the Android Recovery Mode. I then flashed using the Samsung Kies recovery procedure. This didn't work. I then tried a Factory Reset through the Android Recovery Mode, multiple times. This also didn't work. The last thing I tried was to flash the ROM using Odin3. I used the firmware version appropriate for my region and carrier. Everything was successful, but I'm still having the same problem.
I tried to view the boot logs with adb, but of course, the phone won't stay on for long enough to establish a USB connection. I'm not sure what else to try.
I dropped my Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G from a height of about 3 feet onto a marble floor. The battery popped out, but there is no physical damage as far as I can see. The phone automatically went into a reboot loop, by which I mean it flashes the "samsung" logo again and again. It doesn't turn on or off. After removing the battery and sim card several times to no avail, I searched some of these forums and found the 3 key combination (volume/power/home) which can be used to get a factory reset. Now, I have gotten that factory reset screen where I can scroll using the volume key, but my phone stays on that screen for about 4 seconds before reverting back to flashing "samsung." This is where I stand as of now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated my galaxy s gt-i9000 to cyanogenmod 10.1,1. everything worked great.... I got a wild hair and decided to upgrade it to 10.3.0 but it went into a boot loop. I then broke out oden, and long story short I soft bricked it. I now actually got my phone to let me restore my backup that I did before I updated it, and it completed successfully. But it only boots into recovery mode. What I can do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed Cyanogenmod 10.2 a few days ago, and has been working fine up until about an hour ago. My phone basically locked up while I was using Spotify, so I did a hard reboot, and got stuck in a boot loop. I tried to reboot a few times with the same results. I didnt have much on my phone, so I did the factory reset (using Teamwin recovery), but after that the phone was still stuck in the boot loop. After that, I tried the "Format Data" option.
After going through, It was still stuck in the boot loop. I've also tried to restore backups, but to no avail. I'm not super knowledgeable about the whole inner workings of rooting. I didn't want to do the advance wipe (includes internal storage, system, USB-OTG) for fear of really messing something up. If it completely restores to factory settings, i don't really care, I just dont want my phone to be completely unuseable.
