HTC EVO 4G : Phone Won't Remember Passwords / How To Fix?
Aug 23, 2010
Lately I've been noticing my Evo won't remember any passwords. For example I will log in on this site and checker the box that says "remember me". But if I leave or close this site and come back later I have to login again. It's been doing that on other sites as well. I noticed that I haven't even been getting the pop up that asks me if I want to remember the password. Any ideas?

Is there anyway for the phone to remember my password, so that when it tries to connect to the WiFi, it will NOT ask me to enter the password. It is a hexadecimal number and it is frustrating me when I have to enter it every few minutes when the phone finds a different network, then wants to switch back to mine.

Prior to taking my Dinc swimming, I had an addictive little game where you had to line up these spheres that were connected by colored bonds. You had to line up all the colored bonds so that all the spheres were connected and there were no free bonds. Kind of like chemistry, but fun.Can anyone tell me the name of this game?

I need to save my bank account numbers, passwords and some credit card numbers. I do not need an app that is all that high tech and complicated. I would just like something that is protected via a password so that if my phone is lost/stolen the finder cannot access this information. I tried Keepass but I didn't really like it as I was unable to change the entry fields, ect. It would be nice to have the ability to have this information backed up somewhere.

I need a Movie Player that will remember where I left off. The default video player doesn't show the art, title, or remember where the movies left off. It's completely useless. Coming from iProducts, I realize I'm spoiled with media players, but is there something that'll work?

I am very skeptical about using outside programs that did not come program with my Droid. When I click to use Better Keyboard, it states that certain things I type, such as passwords can be "recorded." Has there ever been any reports of Better Keyboard stealing passwords or whatnot? I feel 100% safe with the pre-loaded software, but with programs on the app store I am scared to use anything that I enter person information, such as credit cards. How safe can this program be?

Many of my users have requested a password protection for various data elements in my database. Unfortunately, one of my existing features is backing up the database to a public location (SD Card) for data redundancy, so my database isn't secure.
So my question is two-fold.
How can I encrypt or secure a database on android?
How can I store user created passwords on the device in a secure, inaccessible way.

I haven't got a Hero yet, but while waiting for delivery I'm trying to anticipate possible problems and realise that one of the first could be typing the WPA passphrase for our WiFi router accurately with stubby fingertips on an unfamiliar touchscreen keyboard. Is it possible to see the passphrase you type (and so spot the typing errors)?

My GF is getting a new phone and we are having real trouble remembering her Google mail password!
We have tried all the recovery options on-line, but Google are pretty useless at recovering passwords and its driving me insane!
Now, on her old phone, it all still works, and Im just wondering if there is anyway at all as to recover or dig out the password from in the phone somewhere!

Does anyone who has been with Sprint a longish time remember those "Samsung Instinct versus iPhone 3G" videos that Sprint put out? It showed the Instinct side by side with an iPhone performing tasks: GPS, spoken navigation, SMS, MMS, etc. Each time, the Instinct did it better.
Here is a crude sample:

Does anyone know if the X can "remember" a sent email address? My iPhone/BB both did this, but I cant tell if there is an option for this here.
For example, if I email an address thats not in my contacts, the next time I try to email that address I have to type out the entire address again, whereas with my iPhone or BB it would remember my sent addresses and I could just select them, even if they werent in my contacts.
Also I see no option to never delete from server. If I download email from my POP account onto my phone, will I still be able to get that on my PC when I get to my office? If I delete it as well?

I've started a few threads here n other places about the physical keyboard issue. many other ppl have to came forward having the exact issue where it does not recognize inputs. as noted, in some apps this is worse then others. stock browser I have this issue frequently so I dl xscope and at first all was ok then after decent amount of browsing issue would happen more frequent. stock sms the issue happens a lot so I try handcent and at first all was amazing then it would happen a lot again . . tried chomp and same deal. if I hard reset my phone the kb works good on most apps for a lil, then issue occurs again. does anyone who is advanced in diagnostics on these devices think this may be an angle at looking at the issue for a fix ? and if so could a custom ROM be a way at avoiding this issue ? I've never flashed a device on winmo or android but extremely love this device to the point where I would to regain a normal keyboard .. anyone have insight here ?

My friend is currently locked out of my LG MyTouch. She used a pattern lock and can't remember the Pattern nor her Gmail account or her password. With the past two Android phones I had, I would just Boot into recovery (Vol. Down & Power button), but this phone won't load into one. I also tried Vol. Up and Power. Nothing. I then tried both, but it went into the "S/W Upgrade" screen. Is there anyway to bypass this without having to send it back?

I have a Droid Eris. I've used eBuddy off and on for the last 3 or 4 months and really liked it. I just had to have my handset replaced so I was about to download eBuddy again. But when I went to read the commnets, I saw a bunch about eBuddy stealing FaceBook passwords. Is this true? What is the best way to investigate something like that? I would really like to keep using eBuddy.

So my friend locked my phone out. I Knew the gmail account linked to the phone but i forgot the password. I resetted the password on a computer but when i enter the new password in the phone it doesn't work.
I tried all my various passwords, including the null and it didn't work.
I don't remember if my phone sends notifications for emails because i only made the gmail account when i bought the phone (therefore it isn't my primary account and no one sends emails to it).I have wifi connection and also 3g connection on the phone.
I am thinking the gmail account did not sync, therefore my new password isn't working. How can i sync the account, or do i have a workaround on getting this to work?

1. My app opens a web view, with a web page that requires a username & password. 2. The user writes his password, and on the Android popup to remember the password he chooses "remember". 3. Now the user wants to log in with a different password. But the web view always remembers his last password and doesn't even show him the login page. How can I programmatically clear that saved password? Assuming that I know the host URL. I tried webView.clearCache(true), webView.clearFormData(). But it didn't work.
