Samsung Behold 2 :: Watch Avis On SB2
Jan 29, 2010Pretty sure the answer is "no", but just wondering if there is a media app or player that could play .avi's and for that matter, any other video formats on the Behold2. Or......is the answer that you have to convert the .avi (or other formats) to mpeg4?I know 3gp is the default format the SB2 plays without any issue.

Oct 20, 2009I tried a few different players from the market including a few that I had to use an app installer to install. So far I have had no luck playing AVI's & MVA's, does anyone know if Android 2.0 includes a universal player like VLC? If not is anyone working on a player? I understand you can convert files to MP4 & 3GP but I would rather find something that can just play the standard format my camera records in.

Before video's would stream over my connection, however 2.2 comes out and know I keep getting error's or programs just shut down. Aug 5, 2010First, I've just put Froyo on so I am up to date. I've also just installed a 32g card, formatted it on the phone (twice now) and used Windows explorer to copy mp3's of my CD's over from my laptop to the phone in to a folder called Music a couple of different times to rule out copy issues with the same results. FYI I normally carry/listen to my tunes on my Zune, and keep them associated with Zune.
My problem is that when I look at the phone's properties in Explorer, I see that I've used about 3.9g used, yet when I look at the individual CD folders I see nothing near that size. the Music folder on the phone shows 36 folders,108 files but a size of only 548m. No other phone folder shows any substantial usage. When I browse to the folders, a few of them have mp3's, but almost all show as empty, 0 files. I know I copied files, I watched it happen. When I launch the music app it doesn't see any of the folders with 0 files. Some of the folders that show mp3 files play but most don't. I get an "unable to play this type of audio file" message on the phone yet all of the files are the same. I should note that before I put the 32g card in, I did a trial copy of about 4 CD's with the 8g card in and they played fine. I didn't bother copying any more since I knew that I was getting the 32g card.
Any thoughts? Does the phone have a problem with a 32g card?

May 27, 2010I just came across the limitation of VideoView of not being able to play mp4 video files that are wider than 320 pixels. I was wondering how can we overcome these limitations. I am trying to make my app as forgiving as possible, so other than using VideoViews is there another way to play these mp4 videos?

Nov 17, 2010I just received an MP4 video that plays really well on my Hero. But it is not visible in the photo gallery of my phone. It's grayed out. When I go into my SD card with a file manager and click on it the movie will play perfectly but it won't play though the photo gallery manager.My real issue is that I have to go into a file manager to find the file and play it instead of using a widget to call up a program that will play it. There is obviously something in the phone that can handle the MP4 format and I just need to know what program to use.

Nov 7, 2013Recently I've been having an issue with Google Play Music where when I play a song, it plays for a second then pauses, so I have to press play to get it going again. This occurs repetitively which means I can't listen to music.
It happens on songs that are being streamed and on songs that are on the device.
Funnily enough, if the song is played through ES file explorer and the little play music popup window comes up, it plays fine.
I've got this issue on both my devices, a tf101 running 4.3 and a nexus 5 with stock 4.4 rooted.
Edit: just remembered, I've also got this issue with MX Player and videos. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Streamed videos played through the gallery video player work fine.

It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
HTC Incredible :: Trying To Play Music - Says Unable To Play This Type Of Audio
Apr 28, 2010I took out the 8GB SD card from my Blackberry Storm and put it the Incredible.
I had a bunch of music saved on my SD Card that I downloaded from VZW Music Media thing.
When I go to music on the Incredible and go over the song (it shows the picture of the album of the song)
it says "unable to play this type of audio"

May 27, 2010I take videos on the HTC Hero, connect the phone to PC, then drag videos from phone to desktop. They come out as .3gp files.When I try to play them back, each program either crashes (Quicktime, VLC), or tells me that it cannot playback this type of codec (Windows Media Player).The videos playback fine on the phone, just not when I bring them over to my PC.I am running Android 2.1 and Vista.
