View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded one of chevys kernel an I was going to install this kernel hoping for better battery life. Before I did, I tried booting into recovery and all I got was the M symbol. I then tried flashing alternate recovery(sprecovery) and then went to boot into recovery an that still didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't know if its related to that download of the kernel or what. But this is very frustrating knowing I don't have recovery.
View 14 Replies View RelatedCan you flash clockwork recovery(from Rom manger) onto your phone if you have the official 2.2, rooted. I want to make sure that the recovery image is compatible with froyo.BTW I rooted 2.2(FRG01B) with easyroot, i have not installed any roms, themes, kernel etc. and i have busy box. Please reply, i am new at this.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI KNOW my phones rooted, ive applied the update and ive been doing root things for quite awhile. However, when I go into rom manager, download a rom, and install it, it brings me to the normal recovery menu, the blue one with only 4 options. I reapplied the update.zip and still nothing. When I try to reflash the clockwork it says... An error occured when attempting to run priveleged permissions

View 7 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to reboot into recovery, it just boots normally. It says that the ClockworkMod has been downloaded and that it's the current recovery so I don't know what the problem is.
View 1 Replies View RelatedGetting a little more experienced loading up different ROMS after rooting and have a pretty basic question about recovery methods. Rooted my phone with DroidMod....then loaded up their Droidmod version 1. wanted to try out Koush's new Cyanogenmod 5.0.4.2, so I installed ROM Manager with Clockwork Recovery, then loaded up 5.0.4.2. later went to a customized version of Koush's mod that loaded via Recovery 0.99.3b (sprecovery)
My question is, if I load a ROM via sprecovery, then I cannot use Clockwork or Droidmod, or vice versa....each is an alternative that can't be used at the same time....correct? also if I do want to switch back and forth, I guess I need to reboot into that particular method?
Very simple can we use Koushik's ROM Manager / Clockwork recovery rom to restore past Nandroids created using SPRecovery .0.99.3b? Even if I boot right into the clockwork ROM and perform a restore from the ROM itself like we do with SPRecovery. Or do I have to push SPRecovery back in order to restore my archived ROM's and other dev's ROMs that use SPRecovery.. like Pete, AdamZ, Chevy, etc. I'm sure it's been answered but I also can't be the only one who's unclear.
View 27 Replies View RelatedIt would appear my phone does not want to reboot into clockwork recovery. Each time I use the bootstrapper to reboot into the recovery mode, it just sits on the M logo indefinitely. Any thoughts, or am I sol until the update is released that is to fix this?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am rooted, deodexed, froyo'd (clockwork recovery mod/ROM). I want to install a different ROM. either tranquility 3.0 or some of the later/faster ones just to switch it up. After I back up my current ROM, Can I just install the new ROM without worry? Or is there some special trick? I also have a custom theme too, but I don't care if that gets erased, etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedUsing Rom Manager, Clockwork recovery, on any ROM, currently Pete's V1. I have yet to successfully restore a previously backed up ROM without getting the MD5 checksum error. I've tried both from inside Rom Manager, manage backups, and booting into recovery and hitting the backup directory. File names are left at default, as 2010-05-02-02.42.46. Frustrating as I wind up having to start from scratch if a ROM install fails.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI rooted my android device with froyo yesterday. I installed the rom manager and its associated programs. Then I downloaded and installed the Cyanogen 6.0 mod. I was able to install the mod yesterday but I did not wipe my data clean which made the startup screen loop. I restored my phone, and now I can not reinstall the Cyanogen 6.0 mod. I go into the rom manager and select download, I select to wipe my data and to backup the system, then I restart in the Clock Work Recovery Mod. Once there I can not find the Cyanogen 6.0 to flash. I have been trying to get this to work for the past 24 hours!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI download ROM manager and flashed clockwork recovery, but it wouldnt let me boot into it. I tried from ROM manager and by rebooting and holding x. MY permission were all set correct, i dunno what happened. I have read else were that other people were having the same problem. I went ahead and flashed SPrecovery back and it worked.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running JRummy's Remix - Cyan V0.6 with SPRecovery. I wanna start using ROM Manager, but I can't seem to flash to Clockwork Recovery from inside ROM Manager. Am I doing something wrong? I'm relatively new.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I flashed back to sbf then rooted. Now I downloaded ROM manager and tried to boot into clockwork recovery through it to update back to 2.2. Well, every time I click "reboot into recovery", it just restarts my phone. I've tried clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling rom manager but nothing will boot into recovery. I've tried downgrading to a different clockwork mod recovery, but it gives me the error message "an error occured while downloading your recovery".

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not really sure how to go about using these now to create a backup and recovery for my phone in case anything ever happens. I have downloaded Droid X bootstrap and ROM Manager so far not really sure where to download Clockwork (if this is even a different app than what I have).Does a tutorial on how to use these things exist anywhere? I did a search on this forum, but it seems like everything is for moderately experienced users.
this WILL wipe your phone. Make a backup prior to doing this and of course im not responsible, blah blah blah Don't be an idiot either, you must be on Froyo 2.2 to restore an image of 2.2. So, to the question (Can I use this to update my 2.1 and have root). I've noticed that most people that CAN'T run it (MD5 error) are people that did a factory reset. What i would suggest to anyone else reading this, is if you know you have factory reset on 2.2, this probably will not work (by all means try). BUT if you WANT to run it that bad, do a data wipe, and THEN sbf. Root 2.1, update to 2.2, install koush's bootstrapper and try again. that will probably work. Credits to krayzee1 on alldroid for posting this. Mike919 we now have a clockwork recovery backup that you can recover to your phone. What does this give me? well it gives you a way to restore your phone to its default state but it has already been rooted and deodexed. If you dont know what root or deodexed are then please search around the forums.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI am running Koush's clockwork recovery and I am stuck in recovery performing back up. Is there anyway to reboot from recovery there is no option and when pulling the battery it just brings me back to performing backup?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was running a custom 2.2 rom with clockwork recovery installed via Rom Manager.
Anyways, I started having a few problems so I was going to take it to stock and redo everything.
I have the stock 2.1 sbf file and I put it back to my phone using RSD lite.
It installed fine except it changed my PRL number to some weird higher number and now I can't get my phone to activate because it has the roaming triangle and is roaming on US Cellular.
I reinstalled my custom rom and used rom manager to restore the image I had saved before I recovered and all is well except I cannot activate my phone because I can't see a verizon network.
I even went into the programming menu and replaced the SID, MDN and MIN with all the settings in my Droid X but no dice.
I have found a way to write a new PRL but I can't get the HW virtual port app to work. So basically I am stuck.
note before attempting any of this that rooting does void your warranty. I also am not reponsible for any damage that is done to your phone but am more than willing to help you solve a problem in IRC. See my signature on how to get on #ally IRC channel. I do not actually use the Clockwork Recovery (i use drellisdees).
Guide to flashing roms on the LG Ally with screenshots. First off. Make sure your phone is rooted. If your phone is not rooted see the following options.

How to manually install clockwork mod. I don't have a computer so I'll be using Rom toolbox pros terminal. I have Rom manager premium but it doesnt flash it for me itself. Eris
View 1 Replies View Relatedso to start off let me go into detail with my personal experience with the Rom Manager and ClockworkMod applying Velocity .2: After getting my phone up and running with the new Velocity .2 (Don't forget to tell Trident how awesome he is) I decided to get my girlfriends Ally going with it as well. Her Ally had Drellisdee's 1.2.2 Recovery already installed so I tried to apply the ROM via that, I was halted by a signature verification error. No big deal, I just flashed it with ClockWorkMod on my own Ally so I downloaded the RomManager to go about using the other Recovery.
After installing the ROM Manager I tried to flash the recovery, it requested SU Permissions which I allowed then it force closed. I reopened the program then flashed the recovery again with no errors. I then downloaded the Velocity .2 ROM from the manager and attempted to apply. First thing I noticed is the manager did not give me an option to clear Dalvik Cache. I tried to proceed anyway. When the phone rebooted it got stuck on the LG Logo, scary, very scary. I pulled the battery, held SEND MENU END, and again, got stuck at the LG Logo. Pulled the battery again, powered on normally and it booted up (not to recovery though) so I ended up flashing the ClockWork Recovery manually...........
Drellisdee has a post on here that makes it easy just download his recovery and do this. just do steps 4 5 6 and 7 over again. its that easy, but make sure you at least have a copy of the 1.2.2 in both the root of the SD card and the tools folder. and MAKE SURE YOU RENAME FROM 1.13 to 1.2.2
