View 5 Replies View RelatedMy screen fell on a hard concrete floor and cracked, but i felt lucky because i thought its just the bottom 1/10th part of the phone broke.. Its a Nexus 4 I cant press the Back, Home, and the switch app soft buttons and also i cant press probably a few other pixels (I cant type SMS because i cant click on the bottom row and so keyboard wont appear).I think there should be some setting somewhere to fool around android to say that my screen size = 9/10th of the current screen size (the bottom 1/10th of the screen should be blank.) If there is any such app or any setting in any custom ROM. Tried google, cant seem to find the proper keywords.

Is there a way to run iGO Primo in the background with screen off?
I want to be able to lock the screen, put the phone in my pocket and just listen to the vocal instructions. At the moment iGO gets suspended after ~ 1 hour. When I unlock the phone and click the iGO icon in the notifications page, it restarts.
I tried some settings in [power] section of the sys.ini but with no luck. I also tried an app to keep the GPS module alive, nog (although I think iGO should have complained about 'gps sigmal lost').
I am trying to fill an image onto my screen, but it is just covering around 75-80% part of whole screen, not whole screen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've started learning about drawing things to the screen with Surface view and canvases, but I've run into a problem. At the moment, all I want to do is draw a background image to the screen, and have it fit the screen, regardless of size or resolution. I've figured out how to draw the image just fine, but it doesn't fit the screen at all.
Here is my situation: I'm developing on an Archos 5 internet tablet. It has a 4.8 inch screen and a resolution of 800x480 - putting it in the "Large" class of screens and "Medium" class of pixel density for Android. My background image is 800x480 - my thinking was that it would be displayed perfectly on my device, and scaled down on smaller screens.
But this isn't happening. When I place my image in the "medium" density drawables folder, the image seems "zoomed in" and I can't see it all on my device. And when I emulate the app with different screen sizes, it's all over the place.
I'm drawing my image in a Panel which extends Surface View. Here is the code:
Code:
package com.plant.drawing;
import android.graphics.BitmapFactory;
import android.graphics.Canvas;
import android.view.SurfaceView;
import android.view.SurfaceHolder;
import android.content.Context;
[Code] ....
In my layout, I set this panel's properties of layout height and width to "wrap content." I'm really new to Surface views and the like, so I'm sure I'm simply not doing something - but what can I do to make this image fill the background of any size screen? The image is a .png, by the way.
I have a background service and want to listen to clicks on the screen by the user. Is there any standard procedure or experience in doing this?

Much of the time, I do not need to actually see the video (just want to hear it). So is their a video app that will let me play the video and turn the screen off and/or play video while I use the device to do other tasks. Seems like a simple feature but I cant find it anywhere for the Android.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor about a year I was using an HTC Desire with Android 2.2.1 Froyo. Here I was using a default pattern lock screen }by default I mean native, not any app from Market). On this screen there was the background I had set for my home/lock page and also there were some other information (time, date, battery status when charging, etc.).
Yesterday I've (finally) bought an HTC Sensation XE (in USA known as Rezound) which has Android 2.3.4. Here on pattern lock screen there is no background, only a black color and also no other info as I was used to with Android 2.2.1.
Do You know if there is some setting or workaround to just have a normal background image I have set for my home/lock screen or is this option totally gone here and the black is only I can get?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen playing music with the stock Music Player application on my phone and turning the phone screen off or multitasking, the music is still able to play in the background. Is it possible to do the same with the stock YouTube app? I want to let the audio of the YouTube video I am watching to keep playing when I either exit out of the app or when I press the power button on my phone to turn off the screen to save battery. Although I can just set my phone screen to not go off when idle for a certain amount of time, but then again, that is battery consuming.
