So like all of you, I'm really excited about the EVO. Unfortunately I have a SERO plan and I got shot down for the 10/24 discount. I'm gonna try to get an employee discount instead, maybe 15% or 25% off. My question is, do I activate this discount before getting my EVO or do it after? I don't wanna lose my SERO and not get the employee discount either.

First off, important to say I'm not new to Sprint, I'm a Sprint Preferred customer.I have the $99.99 plan, with roadside and I'm going to add the insurance to my EVO tonight.I've never tried to get any SERO or discounts etc but I'm semi annoyed I'm paying $10 dollars for 4G I don't have mostly because I learned so many of you got a 2 year $10 dollar a month revolving credit on that. This was not offered to me. In fact, Sprint told me to return the phone if I don't like it and they would put me back on my old phone/plan.
I was shocked when they said that, I've been a customer for 10 years and I've never asked for anything "extra" or free.I'm half tempted to return it and get on my wifes Verizon family plan to be honest.ANYWAY if I do keep the phone, what discounts are out there to off set my being pissed off?I've heard you can get 10% off for having an AOL email. I've heard they offer a discount for credit union members etc. Whats out there that works and how do you get them?Actually does anyone have a working Retention department phone number too?
I am a high school student and I really love programming. I would love to play around with the kernel code and test it on a dev phone. Do students get any discounts on them like some development products have huge discounts for students?

I understand the employee discount won't effect the total equipment protection or taxes and fees, but surely the 10 dollar premium data isn't immune to the discount?

She is concerned that if I root my Evo and get free Wifi tethering she will possibly get fired if Sprint notices the larger amount of data usage. She said the clearwire techs are working right now but the reason it was not announced is that their are some endangered birds nests in some of the towers preventing them from doing anything until they naturally leave. She said Wimax should be running in Tampa by the end of the summer.

I found the option to check coworkers as a group, but I can't figure out how to associate or move the employee contacts under that group. What am I missing? Is there anything I have to do specifically to get the video out to work (for displaying my app on the tv)? or will the phone just display a running app on the tv without extra work?
I'm trying to determine whether or not my phone is defective, or if this is a current problem with the Cliq.
Of the apps I've downloaded, only a few of them have worked. Of those few that work, some don't work right. Has anyone had problems with these apps crashing on them, or just not working correctly?
- Nice Battery (see description at bottom of: My Ultimate CLIQ settings (so far))
- WeatherBug (kept showing the wrong location, crashed when trying to change location)
- Snake - doesn't work just says its "paused"
- RingDroid - crashes when I select the "Facebook Pop" button
- Layar - screen is rotated 90 degrees at all times
There have been others, but usually I just uninstall them right after discovering it doesn't work right.
I've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal.But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine.However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + �call ended�), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). �GSM� sends and receives calls and texts but doesn�t work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and �auto� and �WCDMA only� show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still can�t use the internet at all on 3g � even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable.Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?
So I made a discovery - my dialpad doesn't work during a call. Even if I bring it up via the softkeys, the numbers don't register a tap...anyone. else have this issue or is it just my phone?

a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
I have baked snacks 1.7 and i wanted to flash cm6 and i backed up every thing. I was using clockwork but i decided to use rm recovery instead so i installed that. Now i wiped everything and i could not get cm6 to work so i went to recovery and it said it could not open it now my phone is on a boot loop.

Im asking because 3g runs down your battery faster than edge. I put it on gsm only but the 3g symbol still showing that its receiving 3g data. I know on the hd 2 you can turn it of thus saving a lot of battery life.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsually use 4g since it works great in my area, but now since i found out that wifi uses less battery i wanted to switch over to it. Now it wont connect. Ive restarted and pulled the battery out as well. It finds my network then try to connect and it wont. 3g stays on. The check mark is on for wifi but says disconnected. Reset my wireless modem and now its working. Disregard this unless others are having problems. Try resetting your wireless modem.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got my HTC Hero yesterday. I was very impressed, but when I wasn't able to connect to my wireless AP I got very frustrated.The router I have is a NETGEAR MR814v2. I normally use it with 64bit WEP security. When I try to connect on my hero, I get prompted for a password, which I then fill in, and then it just says "Remembered, secured with WEP". So it doesn't connect. And it doesn't give me the Wifi icon in the top.
