Edit: I have a G1
I don't know why google play store wants to crash all of the sudden as it worked fine yesterday and I haven't done anything that would upset it.
-I've checked if the app "downloads" was disabled which is was not.
-I've cleared cache and all that stuff to no avail.
-I've deleted my google account on the phone.
-I've uninstalled play store, rebooted, downloaded the newest apk and installed it
I thought maybe it was the new 4.4.21 update that broke it but after installing an older 4.3.10 and still no fix I don't think that's the issue.I've been doing lots and lots of reboots after several of the above mentioned tries.
I'm using a modded ROM and I'm rooted as well if that's important.I've deleted some stuff in the root folder with X-Plorer as well but that was way before this happened, maybe two weeks ago? I've also got SD Maid installed and am using it rather frequently, maybe it deleted something that was needed in the root folder? BTW, in some apps, a pop up appears with something about that it's unable to communicate with android market. I don't recall I ever had that installed?
why I get force close with play store and my Google calendar sync disappeared? i use the latest gapps (25/5) YouTube also crashes

I tried to use VBO on 1.6 Android SDK and get a crash whenever I try to give the VBO id free using glDeleteBuffers. The issue has already been filed here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4273
Is there any way of giving a VBO id free, then? Otherwise I'm afraid that I can't use VBO because I might run out of graphics memory/buffer IDs.
Has anybody else here had any problems with the dialer app locking up when placing or trying to pick up calls? I returned my phone after the 5th time it happened. Just curious if anybody else has had this problem, as I want to wait until this is fixed before getting another G1.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy EVO crashed a little while ago. I was playing with it at dinner, mainly checking email, and I accidentally opened the app "device self service". I waited ~30s and gave up and pressed Home. That took me back Home no problem. But when I went to go snap a pic about 45 mins later, I noticed my phone was off/crashed. I couldn't get it to do anything, which led me to believe it was on/hung, not off like it felt/looked. I popped out the battery and popped it back in and turned it on. It booted up like nothing happened. I have root - I was wondering where I could look for crash/log info??

View 3 Replies View Relatedi've been trying to get this to work... but it isnt working.
there was no Exception to catch, the app just crash.
Code:

I tried to download many times adt-bundle with sdk and eclipse but it doesn't work. I installed also jdk 1.7 and i created two environment variables: first, java.exe and the second in platfor-tools. However it doesn't work, when I try opening SDk manager it crash after a second, tried also as administrator.

My app is running into the following crash and I'm having a hard time diagnosing it. We have multiple background threads (including a couple pthreads started via JNI that are making calls back up to Java occasionally), but none of them are reporting errors . Any suggestions on how to go about isolating this? There are no symbols in libdvm, so I've been unable to figure out where the stack trace points. This has happened 3 times so far, with the same stack trace each time.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi started texting this morning as i always do and after a few texts the sms application kept force closing and the only way to stop it was to restart the phone and when it came back all my texts were gone. I wanna say I had about 1000 texts. Is this a common android issue? This seems extremely problematic.

I have been trying to use the camcorder bit of my HTC Desire, and need to use it quite urgently. Wouldn't you know the damn thing has gone buggy just as I need to use it. It will NOT record, and it freezes the phone. Only putting it to sleep, or holding the Home key and choosing another recent app will stop it. However, it jams up the whole phone, which is evident when I check on System Panel, the CPU is constantly running at 100% Ridiculous. say I've ever seen a problem like this before, but I suppose I've not used the camcorder bit since the 2.2 update. I am at a loss at the moment as to what to do. I'll be honest and say my phone has experienced odd problems since getting that update. The extra "features" really aren't worth the bother I am now having.

Also, if I start my app with the keyboard out, my app crashes immediately on startup. The app consists of an activity, which contains a viewflipper as the main view layout. View 5 Replies View RelatedI built an app to show a ListView with different layout of each row within it. I extend BaseAdapter to construct my own adapter class and override its getView() method. In getView() method, I use
view = mInflater.inflate(mResource, parent, false); to obtain which layout xml file that be needed to generate different layout for each row.
After coding and running, the problem occurs. While I'm scrolling the list, this app crashes and pop-up an warning dialog that says "The application has stopped expectedly. Please try again."
If I use the same layout xml file to enable each row has the same layout, everything is all right. Does somebody has any ideas about that?
I haven't manage all errors on my application anymore. So I would like to know if it is possible to Kill the entire app when it crashes? (when the message "app MyApp crash, force close" appear, I would like the application to be killed when user clicks on "force close")

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've decided to try to Root for first time. At first it all worked amazingly. I used the:
DJDroid_v1.6.zip OS and
32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14.zip radio file
A day later, I try to use my phone, swipe down, and get 100 messages saying:
"Sorry! The application com.android.phone has stopped working unexpectedly. Please try again."
I click: Force close, or Report, and another 100 messages pop up.In order to get out of this, I have to take out the battery. The only way for me to make the phone usable again is to re-flash the OS (Good thing i kept all the files on the SD card). I've had to do this 5x in the past 3 days.I'm wondering if it's just the ROM I used, or if I have a virus or something (i assume they exist for the android OS). I haven't formatted my SD card even the first time that I rooted. Think that could be an issue?
Just as I was starting to get comfortable that I had removed all the crap that I had added on the first day that was contributing to all the Force Close crashes, today I suffered my first complete hardware lockup. It happened after lunch when I was playing with a few apps, one or more of which may have been running in the background. No stupid apps like Venezuela or soundboards. Just fairly normal stuff like YouTube/Discovery mobile, maybe ems/fire scanner I can't remember.Played with the free 360 camera app and tried to take a reverse picture of myself.Must have hit the "search" button and that's where it froze. No combination of buttons of hold lengths would fix it. It wouldn't go to sleep and when I called it from my work phone it didn't ring or react in any way. I had to pry it apart and remove the battery, which some of you I'm sure know is no easy task in and of itself.I know that it's probably technically my fault for splurging on stupid apps on day one. I know that a factory reboot may possibly fix my problem(s). But I can't help but feel deja vu back to the days when I fell for Ubuntu and gave her all my patience.Don't get me wrong, if you check my other posts you'll see that I'm in for the long haul, and this isn't some "this sucks so I'm leaving" post. But I figured I'd post the seemingly first reported full system lockup mention and give my opinion. For now I'm not going to change anything. I'm going to see what happens next and then come back and report. Of course all discussion/suggestions/criticism is entirely welcome.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am busy writing an app and I have noticed that it sometimes crashes, and when it does and I get back to my computer then I only have the stack trace.
Is there a way for me to take a memory dump of the app at crash time?
I've seen a LOT of apps crashing since I got this phone. In the 2 years I had my blackberry, I never saw a program crash. It seems to be common place with android. A few of my apps crash at random, but lately, my gmail app is crashing consistently, even when I'm not using it. This is unacceptable; it's a google phone for crying out loud! It just crashed about 15 times in a row just 5 minutes ago no joke. Crash...force close...crash...force close. Then it says "Err1" on top of the gmail app icon.

I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone (GT-I9100) and have installed NeatROM Lite (build number: XWLSW NeatROM Lite v4.8).
I'm developing apps and each app crash (for example occured NullPointerException) causes to freeze the device and after some minutes maybe to hot reboot (NeatROM splash screen but I don't need to enter my SIM PIN again).Maybe, because sometimes it reboots by itself, but sometimes I need to hard shutdown the device (pressing and holding the power button).
I tried to debug the application, but the only information I could get was that an exception of type RuntimeException occured. When I activate the debugger for the crashing app, the phone will not restart. The crashed app will just close.
I guess that something is wrong with the "app crash" dialog from android. I've never seen this dialog on NeatROM and when it should appear, the described procedure happens.
