HTC EVO 4G :: Flash Is Disabled Due To Low Battery
Jun 4, 2010
I'm in my house right now and I wanted to take a picture. Its dark so I need to use the flash but a warning pops up and says that flash is disabled due to low battery, cold weather, or phone. My battery has gotta be at 98%, I'm in Miami and its hot as bell. About 78 degrees in my crib and I'm definitely not on a phone call. Anyone else having this problem or has heard about it at least

I was certain I'd seen another post on this, but can't find it. Since Froyo, my camera doesn't work with flash. Even at 90% battery I get this message: Flash is disabled due to low battery power, cold weather, or a running application that uses a lot of power, like Wi-Fi hot spot and phone. I haven't got a LED flash torch thing - I uninstalled that before updating to 2.2. Ideas?

I am curious to see if anyone has had improved battery life by disabling htc sense and running stock android 2.1. Since I purchased my evo I have been running sense and just recently disabled it from running by default and set it to run the original home by default. I have seen a little bit of battery improvement but not enough to come to any good conclusion just yet. To me sense makes the phone a lot better mostly because of the widgets so I'll end up switching it back after a while but I was just curious to see if there would be any major difference as far as battery life goes.

I found out that google+ is using 40-60% of my battery even though its disabled. Did I miss a setting or am I doing anything wrong? Running a rooted lg g2 with stock ROM. Here are some pictures of my google+ settings and battery app. google+ - Imgur

I have a HTC one S, stock, not rooted.
I have disabled everything twitter related, however, in better battery stats, the process "tpd" is still showing and using a fair bit of my battery, what is going on and how to truly disable twitter?
I have snowstorm and sense weather syncing every few hours and gmail push as usual, I haven't got anything else syncing.
Disabled most of sense apps apart from gallery, dialer/people, messaging, weather and a few other things.

Just wanted to relay my issues that occurred with Startup Auditor. I use a Moto Droid 2.0.1.
First issue: I disabled Google Talk Startup as non of my friends have an Android device. This caused an issue with the Market. none of my apps would download the updates and I could not Download new apps. The Market is somehow connected to Google Talk. After enabling Talk and logging back in my apps started downloading.
Second issue: I disabled the stock messaging app because I am using Handcent SMS. This caused my text messages to delete themselves. When I opened my messaging treads all that was shown was my side of the conversation. After re enabling the stock Messaging app my messages started downloading and showing up in the treads. Handcent must use some of the same things that the stock app uses and Startup Editor was killing.

If your battery dies while flashing a ROM it can be a pain to get up and running again. If you battery is less than 40% charge it before you flash a ROM. Seemed to be a growing number of people having issues with this recently so I thought I would post.

died about 60% through. Now it won't charge on charger or computer but will stay powered up when plugged into either, sometimes. But only thing on the screen is Bootloader 30.1 in the top left. Code corrupt down the left a few lines below that, then below that it just flashes battery low cannot program. I try to power+camera+volume down and nothing i also try to home+power and nothing.

I have not had one good experience with Flash so far. Its laggy. The rollover stuff really is a pain. It slows down the whole phone. Kills battery life and heats up my phone enough to fry an egg. Its deja vu. I hate Apple and I hate Steve Jobs, and I was a huge supporter of Flash coming to Android, but frankly, its terribly disappointing. The tap to interact thing is really annoying and doesn't work. I tried to watch the World Cup game and it was off center in full screen mode and very laggy. since we already have youtube and hulu won't let us watch their stuff, it seems that 95% percent of Flash really is ads. Also, I tried to watch a video in a flash player and i couldn't change the volume or pause it. And when scrolling, any flash content lags in movement and slows down the whole page. Am I the only one disappointed? I mean, I know its only a beta but they have a long way to go for me to consider keeping it installed on a regular basis.

I rooted primarily to get rid of bloatware. The instructions indicated that I should create a folder called app.disabled, and them move the bloatware and unwanted widgets, etc. to that file in case I wanted them later. Can that folder be moved to the SD card somehow, and if so, how? I am not at home right now, so I would prefer a handset only solution, but I can probably wait till I get home if the only solution requires a computer...

There are a no. of apps out there for finding lost devices, but they would all prove useless if the thief disables the GPS.
So, is there any way to prevent GPS from being disabled?

I have had my Droid Incredible for a little while, but recently I noticed that when I view Wikipedia pages, they no longer automatically show in the official mobile format the way they used to, and now I just get the regular Wikipedia page. I would like to reverse this and get pages in the mobile view automatically again.

I have a co-worker insterested in Android... he likes the Verizon Droid but doesn't want to leave TMO. I have a myTouch but haven't been able to get to the TMO store and work with the Cliq. He'd prefer not have blur enabled. Can it be disabled so the phone works like the myTouch/G1?

I have alarm clock set to go off 7:00AM. If I disable the alarm for example 6:50AM, it still goes off 7:00. This is very annoying (especially for my wife who is usually screaming from the other side of the house: SHUT YOUR ALARM ********* ) My phone is Galaxy S with Froyo. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem.

how many times do I have to do that little disable described in the 2.1 root thread? Do I do it every time I redo my OS or just the one time that I've rooted? When I did the input's in command prompt, I was in the actual OS and I didn't receive any errors, but it didn't confirm that I disabled them or anything.

I have had Google Voice on my G1 for awhile now, and then when doing an update it sort of screwed itself up. If I look at the application list in the system settings (as well as the quick app execution menu thing), neither "Google Voice" nor "Voice" show up. When in the market, the app is listed as "Installed", and when I select it it has "Open" and "Uninstall", but both are grayed out. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried restarting the phone to no avail.

I was fooling around with Android and my Java knowledge is limited at best (for instance, I'm perplexed by the fact that it allows inline classes!?).I have a layout where there are three dropdown menus. I initialise all three of them inside onCreate().The first one takes its values from a string-array. The second one, however, depends on the choice of the first one and the third one depends on the choice of the second one in turn.I have a few string-arrays for the second Spinner but I was wondering what would be the correct way to implement a list of successively enabled Spinners. I'm tempted to just hack into it and make it work but I don't want to run the risk of it being malformed and unstable.

I went upgrading from Jelly Bean to KitKat 4.4.2 on my Note-3 (T-Mobile), and since upgrading, the Note-3 no longer transfer data at USB 3.0 speed anymore, only regular 2.0 speed. i tried using new 3.0 cables, still the same issue, and my other 3.0 devices work in the USB 3.0 port on my computer with no problem. And on my phone, even the menu choice for 3.0 no longer shows as a third optioned. i downloaded and install Kies 3 and the USB drivers from Samsungs website, the same with there Galaxy Note-3 after upgrading to KitKat.

After an OTA upgrade to 4.0.4 on my Nexus S i started getting shocking battery drain from Exchange Services regardless of sync settings on my corporat email account.
To try and stop it i disabled Exchange Services but I cant see where to start it again? I have no Exchange Services app listed any more and cant even sync Outlook mail manually.
I've rebooted the phone and removed/readded the account but I just get a "cant connect to server" error.

I seem to be getting a ton of "You Tube recommends..." videos in my Android YouTube app lately.
And it's really annoying because the recommendations are so bad, always stuff I'd already watched months ago. Seems Google's recommendations should be more intelligent.Anyway to disable it or any quality third party YouTube apps?
