HTC EVO 4G :: How To Set Launcher Pro As Default Instead Of Sense?
Sep 15, 2010Just put the newest version of fresh on my phone. I cannot figure out how to set launcher pro as default instead of sense. Dec says launcher is on the Rom but when I open launcher I see it , then hit the home button and it goesback to sense. Is there a way to set it as default?

Jun 27, 2010I downloaded Launcher Pro a few days ago and am loving it. As most of you know that after downloading it, pressing the home button gives you the option of which home screen launcher that you want to..well.. launch..either HTC Sense or Launcher Pro. Well this morning I picked Launcher Pro, but accidently clicked the "don't ask me this again" box before that, so now I'm stuck on Launcher Pro and can't get back to my, or any, HTC Sense launcher. I've gone all through my settings and can't figure it out. I'd like to either get back to my old HTC Sense home screen, get to the DEFAULT HTC Sense homescreen, or get back to being able to have the option to pick which one I want to launch.

Jul 20, 2010I've been using LP for about a week (it's great BTW!) and this just started to happen so it could have something to do with the latest update. I've set LP at the default launcher and everything works great. However, if I ever long press the "home" button, go to an application, then press "home" again I get the popup asking me which launcher I want to use. I check the "set as default" box then select LP and everything is good again. It all works until I long press home the next time, then the remembered default is gone and I get the prompt again. I've tried rebooting, clearing defaults, etc.

Oct 28, 2011First of all I have a Sprint Epic Touch 4G AKA Samsung Galaxy 2 S and not rooted,
I keep getting prompt to select which launcher(launcher or twlauncher) when I press the home button. I would select set as default and then select twlauncher. This would work fine and I could do what I want and the home button acts normally. BUT if I long press the home button to bring up task manager and a list of recent apps, it would break the default setting on twlauncher. I could go to setting and manage app and see that the default on twlauncher is now cleared even though I did not manually clear it. I tried checking set as default and then select launcher. It too won't stick AFTER I long press the home button.
Long story short, I downloaded several launchers from the market and none of them will stay set as default IF I long press the home button. It breaks the default every time and ask me to select the launcher to use when I press the home button. Now this would be great if I could just delete all the other launcher and have only one but I can't delete the stock launcher or twlauncher.
So the first time this happen, I was driving down the road using telenav when I see the prompt to select which launcher(something that I've never seen after using the phone for 2 weeks).
1. Start task manager and kill all active app and clear memory from RAM
2. Clear defaults from manage application....twlauncher
3. Click home button, click set as default and then launcher instead of twlauncher- still does not stick after long press home button.
4. Manage application...twlauncher CLEAR DATA (sure enough my neatly organized homepage and apps folder was reset to stock).
5. Pull battery
6. Cycle power on and off.
7. Gave up after 24 hours and factory reset the phone.
8. Went on my merry way and reinstall apps and customizing home page and apps pages and so on.
9. In hindsight, I should have long press home button every time I installed a new app to see which one will break the default.
10. Phone works fine for 24 hours and then it mysteriously acts up again. It ask me to choose which launcher again.
11. Went back to googling and tried the following which did not work:
a. clear media hub data and default
b. installed Sprint "clean" ID and then later deleting it.
c. installed go launcher and see if it will stick
d. installed launcher pro
e. installed home switcher
f. I don't have Qik or some child lock apps
g. search XDA and found about 15 threads and tried everything in those thread short of using Titanium to freeze one launcher.
Right now I just won't long press the home button to bring up task manager or recent apps and everything will work just fine. Minor annoyance but I guess I can live with it until the ICS update.
HTC EVO 4G :: Stock Android Launcher On Top Of Sense UI
Jun 8, 2010found that someone was trying to do this with the Desire but it was never resolved. is it possible to run the HTC Sense UI with the stock Android launcher over top of it? specifically, i'm looking for the block like pattern on the bottom instead of apps/phone/add in the Sense UI. and i'd also like the 3D scrolling of the apps launcher (drawer).

May 26, 2010my sense launcher on my DINC just crashed on me and I had to restart my phone. Anybody else have this problem? Apr 9, 2013I've always wondered, why hasn't the HTC sense Launcher (Rosie) ever been ported to other devices, from other companies, without means of a ROM port? After all, a vast majority of other launchers have been ported - Touchwiz, Xperia eDream, LG UI, Pantech UI... The list goes on really.
So why no love for Sense? I've never heard of any version of Sense ever being ported. Is the underlying framework stuff too complicated or something?
HTC Incredible :: Launcherpro Plus Widgets In Sense Launcher?
Oct 5, 2010I really like Sense but I really want to try out the transparent widget mods for launcherpro plus (which I already bought). Is there any way to get the launcherpro widgets in sense? I know the opposite can't be done, but I figure since I paid for the extra widgets, it would be cool if I could use them outside of the launcher. And I know, launcher pro is awesome...I have beautiful widgets and I know that is almost the same but the weather animations are a pain because they come up on any screen and in my apps and I have to tap to clear them and then I can scroll. With sense I just unlock and scroll and I like that alot better right now.

I really used the stock sense widgets that toggled 4g, wifi, BT, etc, but am unable to find them with the new home launcher. Am i unable to use the previously installed default widgets with this launcher/home? How about the default weather/clock combo, i can't seem to find a way to add it either. I liked the simple look of the Launcher Pro icons along the bottom, that's all i really wanted changed.

May 18, 2010I was having a look at tghe lanucher pro beta app which is OK but sense is better. Anyway, I uninstalled it and now HTC sense is force closing all the time and I am unable to get to the app settings to see what the problem is. get me to a place where I can sort this out. May 2, 2010I managed to turn off my defaults in htc sense, and i cant seem to set up the defaults again settings/manage applications/htc sense. i was reading a post about turning off sense, and having the option of having the nexus one default screens, but it didn't quite work out the way i wanted, so i want to have the sense defaults set back on. the button is currently greyed out, and stuff like my phone screen, wont auto rotate, when viewing web pages.

I checked my application directory and it doesnt exist and i also tried disabling HTC Sense and it dont have the option to choose the default launcher. Sep 9, 2010I don't know if this is the right forum for my questions, but I'm sure this will be appropriately moved if it's not. I rooted my EVO and flashed a ROM that has Launcher Pro installed. While I was playing with the phone I chose for the default launcher to be used. I'd like to change that now and can't find a way to make LP my default launcher.
Second, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe that most or all of the Sense widgets cannot be used while LP is being used. If that's the case, are there alternatives to the bookmarks widget and the Friend Stream widget?
And lastly, can anyone confirm that the EVO has LED colors other than red/orange and green? Those are the only two I've seen.

General :: ADW Launcher With Default App Drawer?
Jan 19, 2012But is it possible to have ADW launcher have the default app drawer or are the launcher and appdrawer tied together. eg you can only have one or the other. The device in question is the motorola xoom wifi.
Reason being is because I enjoy having ADW launcher's ability to take up the full screen on my xoom as opposed to have the columns on either side where you cant place app (wasted screen real estate if you ask me, since theirs no need for a tapping area when you can swipe to change screens). But at the same time I very much enjoy the ICS app drawer and being able to see a visual representation of my widgets and what not.
if it is possible to have both the ICS app drawer and a custom launcher? By this I mean to have the custom launcher home screen and the default appdrawer? I have googled but I haven't found an answer Thats why im asking. I don't know enough about android to figure it out on my own, So can you have both your cake and eat it too? Or is the homescreen tied to their respective launchers. Eg you cant have the default app drawer without also using the default homescreen launcher?
