I just rooted my Evo 2.2 yesterday. After completing it i notice i couldn't access my Google account, can't sync my contacts, or get my emails, or use chrome-to-phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just flashed my Sony Ericson Xperia Play with a custom kernal and ROM. I am attempting to connect to the google play store but it wont let me use my yahoo account. When it says to enter my account it asks for a google account and my yahoo account is currently associated with google, i have been able to download apps for my phone through this account before (Before flashing the phone).
It's not the flash which has made it impossible to use my yahoo account but the fact that i need a gmail account now to download apps. In the past i have been able to use my yahoo account but i cannot get it to work.
How i can log into the play store with my yahoo account? Is it impossible to access the play store with a non gmail account or that you cant have a google account associated with a non gmail email address i will post screenshot for proof.

I used to have two Google accounts, one private and one for work. Unfortunately, I have been fired a month ago and I have no more access to the latter. I believe it is still active but they changed the password and I just can't login.
The problem is that all the apps registered in my Google Play under this account are not available for uninstall or update. Each time I try, I get the message "Authentication is required. You need to sign into your Google Account."
The apps work well on the Android phone but I can't manage them. Moreover, I can't reinstall apps that I uninstalled using the disabled account. All the apps that have been installed with my private account are managed just fine.
I am using a Samsung S2 (GT-I9100) with Android 2.3.3. Google Play Store v 3.7.15.
how I can get the control back on those apps?
Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

I also have a bunch of contacts recovered from backup assistant. Since I am constantly flashing new roms it has come to my attention that there isn't always Verizon Back up Assistant support on them. Take for example CM6-RC3, I love the rom, totally and completely....except when I try and run Back Up, it says it isn't compatible with the program and recommends uninstall. So my specific inquiry to all the great rooted Dinc users out there is, is there an easy way to turn all those annoying "phone"/old non google contacts into google contacts without doing each one individually on my computer/phone?

Personally I would rather it did not do this, for whatever reason. View 17 Replies View Relatedwhen my Talk was going off line and saying "Lost connection to sever. Messages will be sent when online." This happened anytime the phone was idle for more than a couple minutes. I changed the seetings in Talk to automatically sign in, and uncheck the option to set status to away when the sceen is turned off. This did not help, so I made sure my data-always-on setting was on, and it is. Sometimes it would not even tell me it was offline until I tried to send a message, then it would give me that error. Other times, all my friends will be greyed out for a couple seconds until it reconnects to the server.
This is an Evo I got replaced by RadioShack on Friday, 7/16, since I was having sceen issues with my first one. I never had any issues with my orginal phone. Yesterday, I was noticing a lot of my Gmail messages were coming in in groups, and normally when I was using the phone. Today, I sent an email to both my gmail account and myemail@mydomain.net email which is managed by Google, and neither of those emails were recieved until I turned my sceen on and started doing things on it. I have also noticed that if I turn my sceen off, background downloads pretty much come to a halt. Like I said, I have my data to always be on, so this is not the issue. I am using mainly 3G for data. I have done about 5 hard resets, and tried my Talk client before installing any apps or setting up my second Gmail account, and this didnt help the issue either..........
I wanted to change the Google account that my phone was linked to, so I cleared the google app. Now when I try to sign in using my google account to link the phone with the phone (the new one or the old one) it asks for my login info, then says Signing in and says it may take up to 5 minutes. Then it gives me a message that says: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care." I have called customer care and they can't figure it out. They told me I need to go to a Sprint Store that does service, but there isn't one very close to me, so I'd rather not take half a day to drive there if I don't have to.
I have full bars and everything else works great. I can get my email, use the internet and do everything else that doesn't require the use of the google account. But I can't use the google mail feature or go to the Marketplace. I'm using 1.56.651.2 and haven't really done anything else to the phone as far as changing settings or rooting or anything.
I was looking for this info all over and still haven't found an answer. Is there a way to get the Google account or the Gmail address (no password) which have been signed to the device. the closest thing I saw is using AccountManager and Account but this is only for Android class 5 or higher and I'm developing for class 3. from my understanding this is for online services which I do not need - I'm only want the Gmail address.

I get the following message, This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults. You do that in settings, under privacy. It locked up and perma-black screened after rooting and installing launcher pro, so I tried to use the backup from Odin to save it. Saved the phone. Seems to work. My Samsung S3 had broken power switch (hypersensitive) and it's fixed now - they did factory reset etc and now that I am trying to set up things back I cannot connect to my google account - it says that I have input incorrect login details but I am 100% sure its correct because it works on PC. Is there a proper procedure for dissociating it from my GMail ID and adding it to his. I have a suspicion that if I just change the associated email address in the Google Play settings on the phone, it will still appear on my list of devices.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI haven't used this phone (Sprint Samsung epic 4g touch) ever since I bought an iPhone 5. (yes I know, don't judge) and I lent it to a cousin and it got stolen. Now I want to know if there's a way to know if someone else is using the phone with my google account. I went into the play store online and downloaded some apps and apparently they installed but when I check my devices it says last activity over a few weeks ago.
So I really don't care that it's stolen, I just don't want anyone accessing my google account and email. Is a password change enough to block anyone using the phone with my google account?
I have two gmail accounts, each with their own Google Voice account. Account 1 is my primary account, and I have even ported my phone number to this account. I'm using this account on my phone (nexus 5), and have 0 issues with this account. All texts, voicemails, etc come through with no issues. Account 2 is largely not used. I would like to use account 2 on my nexus 7, for texts, and maybe making calls if I don't want to give out my real number to someone.
My issue is when I'm logged in to account 2 on my nexus 7, I'm getting text notifications for account 1 on my nexus 7. But if I were to open Google Voice on the nexus 7, once GV refreshes, the texts disappear. It doesn't happen the other way around. If I get a text/vm to account 2, it does not notify my phone, which is logged in to account 1.
I've checked the settings in both GV accounts, and neither account is linked to the other, or to send copies of texts/vm notifications to the other. How do I stop notifications from GV account 1 to stop displaying on account 2? I have cleared cache, data, uninstalled the app. The only thing i have not done, is a reset of the nexus 7.
I was initially logged in to account 1 on my nexus 7, but I would have thought removing the app from the device would have essentially erased all traces of the account 1 on the nexus 7. I even signed out of hangouts, to make sure Google was not treating this like my phone, and sending it both places.
I just got my phone yesterday, and the verizon rep insisted he needed to setup a new google account on the phone. I didn't feel like arguing since I already have one so I let him do it. Once I got home, I setup my account and sync'd all of my email and contacts, but I cannot delete the original account he setup off the phone. I also cannot sync my calendar through my account. The phone is only wanting to sync the calendar with the account he set up. Can someone offer advice on how to delete the account he setup? BTW, I have gone in and tried to delete the account, but the phone tells me applications need this account and in order to delete it, I will have to reset the phone to all defaults and all information will be lost.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have searched around on this and other forums, looking for the answer to a question that has been bugging me since before the weekend.I got the HTC desire on friday (love the phone!) and have got to the point where most of the things are set up how I want. I have used HTC sync to import my contacts from Outlook where they were already set up how I wanted. However I can't seem to be able to import these contacts back up to my Google account though. I have turned on all the sync settings and checked these, but nothing seems to work.I tried creating a dummy contact in my google account and prompted a sync from my phone which pulled this down ok. So this would indicate that the sync seems to work one way, but wont pull my contacts back up the other.I don't really want to re-enter all my contacts into my Google account to get the sync working properly plus I am assuming this will create a duplicate of every contact already on my phone.

I've manually synced them on the phone and refreshed the web page to no avail.I created one much earlier on (maybe even yesterday) and it's there.If I create a new contact on the web it appears almost immediately on the phone.

It will not recognize that my current google account not has picasa enabled. How in the world can I get it to recognize this? I don't want to do a hard reboot because I'm rooted and have been having alot of problems getting a ROM installed.
