I click to start it and nothing happens...I just got a new SD card added to my phone maybe thats it?
I tried reformatting the memory card on my phone..and on my computer and the camera app wont start.
I just rebooted the phone..started working again. CLOSE

I've had my Droid X since launch and been lurking here for awhile, I haven't had any real issues until now though...
Yesterday, my droid x started randomly opening the camera application without anyone or anything even touching the phone. It's maddeningly frustrating. It wakes the phone up when the screen is off, which kills the battery faster, it randomly pops up when I'm web browsing or writing a text. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, was there a fix other than taking the phone back to verizon? I haven't gotten the phone wet or dropped it or anything.
I am writing a very small app that just opens the camera app ready for video. I am able to get my code to work on an Android 2.2 emulator, but it will not work on my device, Motorola Droid 1 stock 2.2 FRG22D. Any ideas where I went wrong on this code?

It appears ThorstenW is correct. I would upvote your answer if I had enough rep. You can see from the logcat that com.android.camera could not be found and throws a fatal exception. Logcat below.

Is the camera any faster at starting in 2.1 is there anyway to speed up the start of the 2.0.1 camera?

I didnīt noticed if this happens to 1.6 duo to the short usage of this droid version.
Every time i starts the camera application or any application that uses the camera (like Google goggles for example), the phone aparently crashes and suddenly reboot. After the reboot, the camera used to work for the first times but about aprox 30 min. or less that the phone has been rebooted, when i try to start the camera, the phone crashes and restarts again.
Iīve tried to Repair the phone in pc Companion software and the issue continues the same.
My camera stopped working. When I click my camera application I get the message "The application camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". It's just a blank screen?

Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. We can't use the same application with different camera device dynamically. For example, we can select the camera device in the VLC (Video LAN Client) on windows because there is direct show on it, but we can't do that on android by camera API without changing the framework. Guys, is there any mistake at my understand? Is there any plan to modify framework to support this situation ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

Has anyone found a good, reliable application that will allow me to stop other applications from starting with the phone? And yes, I've already looked to see if there are options in some of these that prevent this, but no, there's not.

Sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds for them to just start.I have also had the HTC logo show up when closing stuff (black screen and grey HTC logo) and then the circle.

So far I've only had one real concern with the Droid, and I was wondering if this was unique to my phone, the Droid itself or if its an Android thing.
I downloaded Advance Task Killer as so many have recommended and have noticed that certain apps will simply start themselves running in the background it seems for no other reason than the phone sees the spare memory and fills it up in anticipation that I might run one of them. As you can imagine this is quite frustrating and annoying. Not only does it eat up valuable RAM space but also is eating battery (probably) in the process.
In particular, I notice the Corporate Calender, Voice Dialer, and Visual VM all tend to start themselves up on their own. What's interesting to me about this is I don't even use these applications. In fact, my corporate calendar is not setup, nor have I even opened it once. My phone could be sitting on my desk in sleep mode for an hour and then I'll wake it up and open Task killer to find 10 apps open that I never used.
Im trying to get the max use out of my battery, i've cut off gps, mobile internet, and blue tooth. when ever i use task killer it kills like 15 or more apps. how do i stop them from starting? sorry im new to the android phones. i just left the iphone family....

My incredible all of a sudden started lagging really bad while texting. I am using the HTC keyboard and have tried others and they all seem to lag. I restarted the phone and no change. I am running Eclipse on XP. The Emulator was running correctly but all of sudden today it hang up. I closed Eclipse, rebooted the XP, now when I invoke eclipse, it displays a ddms alert box with the message:
"Failed to initialize monitor thread: Unable to establish loopback connection"
and eclipe prints in its console: [2009-03-17 18:41:46 - DeviceMonitor]Connection attempts: 61
I can start the emulator manually but it's not linked to eclipse and eclipse still gives the same errors.
Why did it stop running and how do I fix it?

I had rooted my phone and it was working fine, but by mistake i delete DroidSansFallback.ttf from system/font/DroidSansFallback.ttf and i restart the phone but not starting just showing samsung logo.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using my textfree app without any problems for a while now, and then suddenly yesterday it crashed and ever since, it hasn't started up correctly. When I hit the icon on my launcher, it flashes a white screen and then goes back to the launcher.
I have already tried clearing the app data/cache, uninstalling and then reinstalling from the market, and clearing phone cache/dalvik from recovery. It still has the same problem, any fix possible that doesn't involve formatting /data?
I have just got a HTC desire recently and am astonished at how short the battery life is. I downloaded the app killer and put the widget on my desktop. When I press it it shows me what apps are running. I clear them all but within minutes of me not touching ny phone they all are running again 8 in total I believe. Amongst the apps are Flickr, peep, footprints....

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen developing on BlackBerry or iOS, you can deploy your application just by dropping the compiled code into a special directory, and when the simulator boots up it will check that directory and install any apps that it finds there. Is this possible for Android? The reason this feature is desirable is because my build system deploys builds nightly. I want the emulator ready to go when my QA team gets in the next morning. To do that, I have to write a script that boots up the emulator, waits for it to start up, then calls adb install and finally shuts down the emulator. It would be great if I could just drop the .apk in a directory and have it ready to go the next time QA boots up the emulator.
