With my Instinct, I could browse the pics etc on the phone from my Macbook Pro via Bluetooth. When I try to browse the EVO over bluetooth, I just get connection errors. Is this possible to do?

I just bought a galaxy s (I9000) I connect to my home wireless gateway through the phone, enter the WPA key and it connects all fine. But then when I try to browse any webistes I get a 404 error and if I try syncing facebook or anything else I get an error saying the server could not be contacted. wireless works fine on my mum's laptop and the phone is showing up in the devices list of my router's interface.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have any idea as to whether Froyo will address the wifi issues on the SGS?My wife's phone will not connect to any wifi hotspot unless she is virtually sitting on the router.At home it is ok as the router is in the same room, but she has tried to connect to many wifi hotspots in public places and she can never connect as the signal is so weak.Other people with iPhones, HTC etc connect with no problem, but hers will not do anything.Is this something that Froyo will address, or is it more a hardware issue with the SGS?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the same issue with 2 separate Vibrants, actually 3 Vibrants counting the one I took back.I have problems connecting to either the market or internet across multiple browsers while WiFi is on.With both phones, it seems this problem is intermittent and across different brands of routers at different locations.
An example is when I try to enter the market.I sometimes will get to the market home page but when I try to pull up my downloads it comes back with an error message saying connection failed.Once I turn off WiFi it works perfect in 3G, or if I leave WiFi on, go back to the home page and then try just a minute later it connects without a problem.To make matters even worse, the problem persists while using apps that connect to the internet such as The Weather Channel.The problem is very intermittent.Sometimes I have no problems connecting, while other times it won't connect at all until I turn WiFi off or even reboot the phone.Both phones behave the same way.I've gotten to the point now where I just leave WiFi turned off because it's so unreliable.I know it's not the WiFi signal strength either as it is just as likely to happen with the phone a few feet away from the router's antenna as it is when it's 50 feet away.
I meet some problem while using cupcake bluetooth handsfree.
1. Phone only can pair with pin "0000" BT headset automatically, but never pair succeed with headset with pin "1234" (never prompt pin code dialog for input?)
2. Connecting BT headset always fail if the BT headset only suport HFP/ HSP profile(on A2DP). Any one familiar it?
Anyone having issues of their bluetooth a2dp headphones dropping connections sporadically?I heard somewhere that WIFI might be the issue.

With my Blackberry I had grown accustomed to streaming my music from my phone to a bluetooth stereo gateway in my car and my home.My BB sounded GREAT doing this.But the EVO has a really grungy crackling sound, especially when there is loud high frequency content, such as a lot of cymbals, etc. Some songs sound better than others depending on how they were recorded, but by in large it's very annoying.Even my wife, who is nowhere nearly as picky as I am about sound quality complains about it.I've tried to put up with it, but usually I resort to plugging directly into the aux jack.What a letdown for such an otherwise advanced phone!Is anyone else experiencing this?The research I've done so far indicates the the problem is that Android is locked at a relatively low "bitpool" setting, which is ok for voice, but doesn't provide the necessary bandwidth for decent music quality.Thus far I haven't found way to adjust this.Does anyone know of a solution, or if there is a solution coming? Will this be addressed in Froyo?It just sucks to have to plug my phone in again just to get decent sound quality.

I have a Motorola droid and I cant send pictures to her or vice versa. When I try to pair the bluetooths,I get a dialogue box that asks for a PIN,so as it suggests, i tried 0000 and 1234.It says on my Moto droid, cant connect with Eris and on my eris it says, paired but not connected. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.I am merely trying to send pictures and media back and forth between the two phones.

We both have the BUMP application where yo can bump info between the two phones. Well as the instructions suggest,I open bump on both phones and bump them. When i do this, it says "Please Bump Again" and then at the bottom it says "you were the only person that bumped" ON BOTH PHONES it says this.What is the problem here? I cant find any help on this,even on their website.
I make a call and it connects but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. It doesn't matter if it is a incoming or an outbound call. Sometimes I have to power down the phone and turn it back on, the call then connects correctly. I'm totally bewildered!!! I have fresh 2.1.2/ a gumbo kernal.Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a Blaupunkt Melbourn car stereo with the Blaupunkt USB/Bluetooth Interface installed in my car and it used to work just fine with my Sprint Mogul and Touch Pro, but I can't seem to make it work with my Hero. When I pair the two, the radio only recognizes the Hero as an audio source and not as a phone. In other words, I assume I can stream music from the phone to the radio but I can't answer the phone with it. I should add that the connection icon shows up as audio headphones instead of a phone handset in the Bluetooth Devices screen.And this is just the opposite of what I need. I could care less whether I can stream music, but I need to be able to use the car radio as a hands-free device and as I wrote in the last paragraph, the radio worked perfectly in that capacity with my last two phones.So does anyone have any idea whether this is a phone problem or a stereo problem? Does anyone have any idea if there's a work-around? For that matter, does anyone have any helpful information at all?

I turn it on and with 15 seconds, it turns off. It will pair with my car but than disconnects when the bluetooth turns off. Took out the battery and that did not work. This works fine for about a minute, then we start to get IOExceptions from the InputStream.available() and OutputStream.write() functions. The IOException indicates that the socket has been closed. Could anybody take a stab at what might be going on here?

I'm having an issue here while trying to connect to an RS232 device with the BluetoothChat sample program.
1- If I first pair my phone with the device through Bluetooth Settings, no problem. The connection is made perfectly and the program works.

I thought it would be quite easy to develop a bluetooth application on Android, but it looks like the support is very bad. While pairing works, my Nexus One with Android 2.1 can't connect to the PC. It's the same in Windows and Ubuntu. I used on my Desktop computer, in Windows, Hyperterminal and waited on an incoming bluetooth com-port. I searched already a bit, Maybe this:

However, I want to initiate HFP and A2DP connection in Android app just like selecting Bluetooth device in Bluetooth Settings menu. I'm not sure it is possible to use a intent including BluetothDevice object, so the intent receiver can initiate HFP and A2DP connection. If you have a idea, could you let me know that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've uncovered what could be a serious problem with the Desire. It's only affected me in one way so far, but who knows what other problems there are that I haven't found. I've noticed on several occasions that when listening to music via Bluetooth, my headphones disconnect for no apparent reason. However I've found a pattern now: if WiFi is turned on and I come within range of a /remembered/ hotspot, the WiFi connects and BOOM, disconnected from audio. I can reconnect straight away. There is another poster here (sorry, can't remember your name or the thread you posted in) describing another problem with WiFi and Bluetooth working - or conflicting! - together so I don't think I'm the only person suffering. Who else can reproduce it and how could I submit a bug report to HTC?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this started after the update, but every time I use WIFI and Bluetooth, my WIFI connection dies less than a minute after using it. For example, I'll connect my Bluetooth headphones and then start up a streaming music service. In less than a minute, the music stops and my wifi connection is dead (even though it says it is still connected). Can't browse the web, do speed test, etc. Have to disconnect WIFI and reconnect. But it will do it again as soon as I start using the connection.If I turn off Bluetooth, my WIFI works just fine. If I use Bluetooth over 3G, it works fine. It's only when I use both WIFI and Bluetooth and when I start using the Internet.I'm thinking it's either a bug or an interference issue between the WIFI and Bluetooth radios? Sometimes the music will cut out a bit before the WIFI connection totally dies. But if I switch over to 3G, it works fine. I tried several apps too, not just the same music streaming service, so I know it's not the app. Here's the weird part: if I use my Bluetooth headphones while connected to WIFI, but only listen to music that's on my device, it doesn't do it. It's only when I start using the WIFI heavily that it does it.Anyone else experience this? As it stands, I cannot use WIFI and Bluetooth at the same time.

However, Samsung Galaxy S's bluetooth doesn't seem to be able to recognize this. i.e., Galaxy S doesn't have a network profile, due to which it always connects to my Laptop for headset service.
