Is anyone else having trouble charging their EVO with the charger cable that came with the Best Buy Plantronics Bluetooth set? Are all Mini USB chargers the same?

I recently received my Hero's upgrade to 2.1 and have been very happy with the Google Navigation software! However, it's an obviously big drain on the battery, what with requiring GPS and all, so I bought a generic USB car charger from eBay for 99p. It does indeed charge the phone, but not fast enough! I even get an error on the screen telling me that the charge is not enough to stop my battery level falling.
So my question is, are all usb chargers the same? I notice it's also a very slow charge from the PC too and takes a few hours to charge the phone, whereas it only takes 45 mins or so from a wall socket. Can anyone confirm that if I spent ?20 on a 'decent' car charger it will charge fast enough to actually charge the phone while using Google Navigation?..............
I have a car charger for my EVO, but it doesn't charge it just gives it power?Do I need a special micro usb? Plus why is the wall charger so short? Kind of lame in my book. Everything else so far I absolutely love. Just switched from VZW BB bold to the Sprint EVO 4g Hopefully the service won't be too bad. I have 30 days though to decide!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a motorola cliq off of crags list(bad idea) for $130. Sometimes it charges and sometimes it doesn't. It will say its charging, but the power is still going down. I'm using a blackberry charger for it. Do I need a new battery? Or is it the phone or the charger?

(1)For some odd reason my Incredible will not charge when the USB adapter is attached to the charger that came with the phone anymore.
(2)As an alternative, I used an DC adapter that accepts a USB. Now, when plugged into my car, there are no problems. However when I attach the DC adapter to an AC/DC adapter that plugs into a normal wall socket, I cannot use the touch screen. Is this an issue w/ the kind of current entering the phone?
I would say within 5 minutes of taking the phone off of the charger, the battery drops to 90%. I'm running stock software (2.1), ran the *228 option 2, turned off GPS tried anything simple I could find by searching.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI bought 2 spare BP6X batteris and a Motorola OEM P323 Charger for my Droid. Does anyone know why my Droid says the battery is fully charged, 100% (with cord attached), then if I put it in the charger the red light stays on and it charges for another 30 minutes? The app battery status pro (new) also shows a higher voltage when said battery is re-inserted into the phone.

Mini-USB cables are generally universal, but I want to ensure that I use a compatible car charger and wall charger that won't damage my phone. The official Verizon accessories of course seem overpriced, if any generic solution would work equally well.

View 29 Replies View RelatedI am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis has been an issue that's been bugging me the last few days now. The stock wall charger that came with my Droid X is the 5PN5504A, which has an output rating of 5.1V, 850mA. My understanding is that the mini-USB interface is an industry standard for power delivery to portable devices, which I take to mean that any charge source should work (wall charger, desktop PC, laptop) as long it has uses an USB interface. So any USB-->miniUSB cable can be used to charge any mini-usb device, regardless of power source, right?
I already have several other mini-usb devices, such as bluetooth headsets, which all came with their own wall chargers. However, I checked these chargers, and they all have different outputs: 5V @ 200mA, 5V @ 150mA, 5V @ 550mA. Because the default Droid X cable was so short, I was tempted to use these other chargers. I plugged in the 5V@150mA charger to my Droid X, and found that the phone does not show it's charging (the lighting bolt isn't there, there's no animation on the battery indicator). So then I switched to the 5V@550mA charger, and it DOES charge....................
Whenever I try flashing any ROM I keep getting this error:

Now of course I have wiped data/cache before every attempt, and have also checked internal and sdcard storage and there is more then enough room. I have reflashed with the new reflasher tool, so recovery version is 2.0.1.3. Also, I was able to successfully flash a kernel, so I am stumped. Just tried to use ROM manager to flash, same result.
I've posted this a few times in the 2.1v3 thread and I really appreciate peoples responses. However, it appears that I may be the only one with this problem so what I really need is a solution. When I open the people app and select "my contact card" it just keeps attempting to load to no avail. I've erased and re-synced my contacts a few times (pita) and tried everything I can think of. Granted its not the end of the world, but I like seeing my pic in the messaging threads. I updated to v3 yesterday if that helps. I've also tried the usual rebooting, battery pull, etc.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to write a simple web service client app for Android, and I'd like to use commons-digester to convert the service's XML responses into objects I can work with. However, I'm getting a VerifyError as soon as I try to invoke any Digester method.
I've set up my dependencies (external jars) using Maven (the Masa Android plugin for Maven, and the Maven Plugin for Eclipse). The Masa plugin seems a little bit bleeding edge, so that may somehow be the source of the problem, but I can't be sure.
How can I debug this issue further, and what, if anything, can I do to resolve it? Is it not possible to use a library as simple as Digester on the Android platform?

I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720). My device is currently stock rooted running Android 4.4.2. I recently just did a factory reset and need to encrypt my device. I have my screen lock password setup and when I select to encrypt the device it shows the screen with the android gear icon for a second then shuts off. About a minute later it will turn on again on its own and boot right up to the regular lock screen. It will not encrypt and gives no error message.
The only references I have found on a Google search about encryption not working was referring to an error message saying the encryption failed and asking the user to factory reset.
it works perfectly fine with main charge and usb charge and now it won't charge whatsoever no matter how i try. i did the factory reset on my x10. still it wont charge. btw when i turn off my x10 first, then connects it to the power. it would turn on my phone like others but just wont charge.

I've got it working so that all the players I've created will show up when ever I start my program, so the database is working. So far, so good. However, whenever I try to retrieve the rowId of a player from the database, it always gives me 0 back. This surprises me in itself, since I'd think I'd get an error if I wasn't accessing it from the cursor correctly, but instead it gives me 0. After debugging for a while, I realized that the Player object (not in database) also wasn't saving the id correctly, although it was finding a value for it. This was corrected when I set the id after creating the object, although it seems I would be able to set it in the creation statement itself. Curiouser and curiouser. Code...

View 20 Replies View RelatedAfter attempting to download a few apps (actually a bunch of language apps), ie, after successfully downloaded only 5 of the bunch that I selected on Google Play, my Evo V 4G Virgin crashed and restarted.
After this shutting down and restarting repeated a few times, I uninstalled all new apps and force stopped and disabled Google Play... to no avail.
"Google Play Store is not responding. Would you like to close it?" message pops up twice and then the phone shuts down and restarts again continuously.
Did I get a virus?

BTW, after a couple of months I had the phone, every time the phone is restarted about 2/3 of my apps blank out (ie, replaced by the generic green Android icons) for a few minutes before they are all reloaded up. Why is this happening? Is this normal? Is this related to what's happening?
So there is very little documentation on the PX102 online as of yet, let alone AOCOS products in general (at least on english sites which I have scoured). First off, I'm currently using OSX 10.6.8 and have the current Android developer tools package that was downloaded from their site about three hours ago (just to be clear). The PX102 is running 4.1.1 and the tablet is a fresh restore (I had a number of apps downloaded but considered that some may have been interfering...).
I will be attempting to root via psneuter exploit from SuperOneClick v2.3.3, however in the terminal when I execute "adb devices" it returns "List of devices attached" with blank space underneath...
I have tried to kill/restart server, run "adb usb", and a couple other small things to no avail. Yes, usb debugging mode is enabled as well.
I would really like to attempt/execute this all via OSX, however name an OS and I have it at my disposal...
