HTC EVO 4G :: Applications Keep Opening Up By Themselves

I have a Advanced Task manager (in Market made by Aaron La) that you can use as a widget to close everything running on your Evo with the tap of a button. When you tap the widget every so often it will show how many thing it just closed. Whats annoying me is the fact I'll sometimes have 15-16 applications running that I never opened. It would be nice to see these applications AS they're opening rather then after they've drained the hell out of your battery. Does anyone know how this happens, how to prevent it and if theirs a better application. I know you cant exclude things but it doesnt resolve the issue of thing opening you dont want opened...

im not sure if anyonelse has this problem but when im holding my phone and doing something and there's momevent on the hand holding the phone,different apps with keep opening from the homescreen?how do i stop this?.

I've been using JPA/JPP/JP4 with voodoo lagfix 5 pre6 for a few days now, and it's been working great... except for one thing. There is no lag while opening applications and stuff, but there is some stuttering while scrolling left/right on home screen, or up/down in menu... it's hardly noticeable, but still annoys me. Quadrant is giving me the same results as when i first flashed voodoo. Noticed one thing also, when i scroll down my notification bar it just doesn't drop as smooth as it was before, but just hangs at some point and then continues. I really can notice even a slightest change in performance, and i read that using voodoo wont cause any performance degradation.
Should i reflash my stock kernel and flash voodoo snapshot?

I really like the zoom in animation when openjng apps in GB/CM7. I have a nexus s with ics on it and would like those animations back. I did it on my old vibrant running 4.0.4 but can find how to do it now.

Ever since upgrading to 2.1v2, I get this message probably every hour. The process com.htc.bg has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Sometimes it comes up on its own, sometimes when I am opening applications, etc. Anyone else get this with the 2.1v2 leak?

Droid X gmail app: it used to go straight to my gmail INBOX whenever I selected the 'Gmail' app, but now whenever I have a Gmail notification and select the 'Gmail' app it goes to my account list and I have to select my Gmail account to get to the inbox even though I only have 1 account. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to make it go straight to the Inbox instead of the account list every time I select the Gmail app?

I've been playing around with my X10 for nearly a week now, and I'm truely impressed of the preformance compared to alot of other Smartphones.
I have a issue with the battery life tho, but I've noticed that the X10 randomly opens the following applications: Settings, "PlayNow", Moxier Mail and on rare occations Market.
Is there a way to fix this, other than installing a Program Manager to kill the apps every now and then ?
Also, have anyone found a way to improve the battey life without rooting the phone and installing "Setcpu" ?

Had the phone now two weeks. Got the upgrade to 2.2 from sprint succesfully. Enjoying the power of this machine for sure. I lurk here a lot and have learned tons for sure from reading, reading, reading sometimes till the wee hours. Three things I still can't seem to figure out. 1. Opening an attachment in an email: When a pic or doc file comes in I can't seem to view it. I click "view attachment" it shows the name of the file and the size but does not open the file or download it for me to see. What am I doing wrong? Some kind of settings issue maybe? 2. Deleting a file: I downloaded a pdf file off the internet and now I wish to delete it. Menu does not show an option to delete when I am viewing thde file with pdf viewer. Any ideas? 3. Voice email: I love the voice texting, voice emailing, etc but when I open an email to compose new and use the speak option to speak the name of a current contact (who has an email as part of his contact info) it does not try to auto fill that like it would if I hand texted it in. In other words, say I begin a new email and in the TO box I click the microphone and speak john smith. It types his name in but does not recognize him from contacts and fill in his email address like it does if I start to type j o h n s m by hand. I must be doing something wrong here too maybe?

I'm using ES File Explorer to connect to my Wi-Fi LAN, and to download images to my Hero. However, when I try to open them, i can see that the image app is starting and then suddenly stopping. I cannot open the images at all. However, if I connect my Hero to my PC and mount the SD card, I can open and view the images on both the computer and my Hero. I tried different image formats (jpg, bmp, gif)... All other file types are working fine (txt, doc, pdf...).

I need to open files with custom extension using my app. I am able to do this using Intent filters when the file is in my sd card. I can also view the 'download' and 'preview' buttons if the file is sent as a Gmail attachment. However, when I clicked the download/preview buttons, I got the message - "Sorry, the attachment could not be downloaded".
I thought this was an issue with my app. But I had a random idea and installed "Download All Files" app on my phone.URL....Then, when I click download button in Gmail, both Download All Files and My App are proposed for downloading the file. I chose my app, and everything works fine!!

I'm working on this new app, and it's force closing before it even opens, why it's force closing? (I've tried this app on my samsung transform and my motorola xoom yesterday, both worked, and them i added the image button inplace of the regular button, and now it won't work. here are my files;

When i open my "Messages" app (SMS) to read a new text, ill click the message to open the thread, but a thread 6 lines below opens instead? Example: my wife sends me a new text.I open Messages, click on her new message but it opens the text thread from my brother (which was 6 slots down in the main Messaging screen).What the heck? It keeps randomly happening.Is this happening to anyone else?

I'm relativley new to Android. I've got an HTC Desire & most of my incoming emails are not on a googlemail address.I've never been able to open email attachments for example today I've recieve a message showing a 300kb jpg image attachment. I've previoulsy noticed that I cannot open PDFs or MS Word docs - I do have the PDF viewer & Quick office installed.

I have a Droid X running Froyo. It's rooted. I really want to organize all my apps into folders but lately different folders have been refusing to open. I click on them and they just don't open. Sometimes it's all of them and sometimes it's just one. If I restart it usually fixes the problem but sometimes I just have to wait for a bit. This is very annoying. I'm not using an alternative launcher or anything. Just the regular Motorola Droid X OS. Just rooted. Any ideas guys? Please let me know. I really want to get things organized again.

I am having problems opening pdf's from webpages via links. When I click the link, it tells me that the pdf is downloading, and then promptly tells me that the download has been unsuccessful.Is there a setting I need to change?Also, my second problem is that I use Googlemail, and some 'links' to webpages within an email do not work, they are not a 'clicky' email Is this a desire problem, or a googlemail problem or me?

I registered with QIK and began using my Evo with it. Suddenly I had issues opening the application. Rebooted etc. Still no change, couldn't open QIK at all.
When into Apps and deleted all files, accounts etc. My think was I'd just re-register. Well it says "Name, phone #, email already in use"
New user name, no problem.
Different email address, no problem
Different phone number, what to do ?
No issues with anything else with this phone, batter etc.

I did a search but can't find any answers on this. Anyway, I am having a problem were I cannot open messages in a Gmail thread. Gmail app will display the last message, and the thread tabs behind will say "5 read messages" for example, but when I press on the tab for older messages in the thread, nothing happens. It will highlight the tab, but won't open older messages?
Anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it?
