View 2 Repliesadded a quick demo video of our upcoming Android Infrared (IR) Remote.Initially it will support a full IR dbase of 300,000+ IR codes, IR learner for any code not in the dbase, Pre-Built GUI so it is simple to setup. Will add rs232, relays, and other tcp options also after initial release.

I used to have an HTC Desire that was rooted so that allowed me to use droidvnc to connect to my phone from my PC via vncviewer using USB(There's no wifi here). It then meant I could type on my keyboard which makes things a whole lot easier when you're in the middle of something.
Basically now I've gone to an HTC One X I'm just wondering whether there's any app or anything that would let me do the same thing but without rooting the device as I don't want to invalidate any warranties just yet.
I'm really after a bit of software to let me remote control my phone via USB for the purpose of using GTalk.
I'd like to use iPhone/iPad as a set of virtual mouse and keyboard for an Android Mini PC. Something similar to apps like Remote Mouse [URL] or Mobile Mouse [URL].

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to remote control my android device (Motorola Xoom & Motorola Droid). I assume this will have to occur via Bluetooth but I am open to any option (wifi?)I'd like the following functionality in the remote:
- Launch Music Player
- Launch Maps / Navigation
- Play / Pause / Next Track / Previous track
- Launch Voice Search
- Launch text search
The official motorola Xoom Bluetooth keyboard has physical buttons for many of these operations (maybe not navigation or voice search) but this device is far too large to use as a 'remote'
My ideal situation would be to find a small Bluetooth remote designed for something like this. I've been looking at getting a Wiimote and the app that allows you to map its keys to keystrokes. Are there keyboard shortcuts for these operations?
I also noticed many of the keyboard shortcuts require the 'Search' key (i.e. Search+'b' launches the browser). What if I got a generic bluetooth keyboard without a 'Search' key - what is the alternative keypress?
I'm lookin for an app to remote controll android devices from each other, like teamviewer for pc!
Lot's of my friends have problems with their phones sometimes and keep asking me, how can i do this or that and how does stuff work....
So I am looking for a app witch works like Teamviewer, so i can see there screens and just do it for them via remote I thougt I've seen something in the xda portal someday but don't remember a name....
Any app to do that? It should work without root and easy like teamviewer (at least for the host)......
I have set up a cover page in ssLauncher to be a remote control for xbmc I'm already using xbmc's remote and yatse widgets and would like to find a (preferably vertical slider) widget to control volume, either through the web server or buttons to send ir frequencies.. One for each would be nice lol.
If such a thing exists(?) I haven't been able to find it. All I can find is widgets to control the devices various volume levels. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't be possible...
Problem : when installing RK Remote Control app (i have V1 and V2) it installs on my Zopo C2 2GB/32GB but when launching it there is the message : "RKRemoteControl has stopped"
I have an MK808b tv stick and want to use my phone as remote.
I tested it with an AMOI N828 and the app launches on this phone with no problems as it should be.
Any toughts why it rufuses to launch on my ZOPO C2?
INFO : My Zopo C2 is rooted and has TWRP installed but runs with the original ROM ( C2 20130819-173942 ).
I allready reinstalled the app - rebooted phone - whiped Cache in recovery, but no luck thusfare.
I am currently extending my media center setup. Right now it is Windows-based, and I have used a lot of app/server combinations to control Media Player/Media Center, which I am pretty happy with.
Now my problem is that I have bought an iPod dock that just connects the iPod via USB to my HTPC, which makes it possible to directly and 100 % digitally play music from the iPod. I have been looking for an app/server combination to remotely control the iPod playback from my Android device, but haven't found anything. There are a lot of apps to remote control iTunes, but which can also control an iPod connected via USB?
Using Windows 7 - can change to Linux if that will do it, 32/64 bit doesn't matter. HTC Desire Z using Android 2.3 or 4.0 doesn't matter what is required - I just want to find a way of doing this.
(If the app/server combination also will control Media Player/Media Center, it is a plus, but not a requirement as I already have another app for that.)
I work for a company and we just bought 4 Galaxy Note smartphones. Now i got the task to set-up a way to remote assist the users, on setting up email accounts etc.
I found RemoteControl by rsupport.com, tested the trial and it works really good, mouse control on non-rooted devices !
I do have an unused Xperia X8 which would perfectly fit as an extension for my HiFi. The X8 should be plugged to the HiFi using a normal stereo jack and should provide the music to the HiFi.
The music should be stored on a network share or/and on the MicroSD card - and in some rare cases on some cloud service.
To find a player which is supporting these things is not a problem - but I do not want to get up every now and then to change music or to skip to the next track or change my playlist. We do have other Android devices lying around as well incl. a tablet So is there a way to control another Android Device which acts as a music player - from another Android device or PC to change music, to skip songs and so on ?!
If you are on PC - that is easy - you get a Web Interface for nearly every piece of software but hey - what about the android eco system - how they play together ?!
I have started using 3CX DroidDesktop to manage my Android phone from a web browser on my computer.
This software supports remote control of the android phone (provided that the phone is rooted, which mine is), however whenever I attempt a remote control session I see the following screen -
I have searched the internet, and this issues seems to be quite common. However there did not appear to be any available solutions. How to get the remote control aspect of this excellent software working.
I like Remote for iTunes but hate dealing with iTunes in general.
I play my music from PC >Optical cable > AV receiver.
Just wondering if theres a good Remote app that would accomplish this ?
(willing to install a 3rd party software on PC)
Prefer something phone/Tablet friendly.
how to setup a infrared remote control to use with android instead of keyboard or mouse.I thought in lirc but the several ports that I found for android are working to send infrared signals, not to receive them.I was wondering if there is some project or program to allow infrared remote controller manage the android device.

i'm searching for a remote control working with bluetooth to put it on my steering wheel, to change music from my phone when i'm driving.
I would like that it looks like this: Click here (but it does'nt work with android phones...
And if it doesn't exist, do you know a simply remote control to control smartphones ?
I purchased the Xtralogic Remote Desktop app from the market today for $20, and it's a bit disappointing. It's quite laggy and buggy, and for that price...I'd expect just a teeny bit better. It's a fun app, but it's just not very functional, for me at least. Anywho, my question is: Is there a better remote desktop app out there? A free one for rooted phones? A similarly priced, but better running app? I don't mind the price so long as it is justified.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been reading a lot to being able to remote control my Linux running computers at home. I have a 60gig music collection and want to be able to play it smoothly on any of the computers or my Android. Of course I want to remote control the computers since most of them are headless (=without monitors) and until now I've remote desktop-ed them from the laptop. Oh and all the computers are Ubuntu installed. It turns out there are many different media players, even allowing DAAP or UDNP setup so that the media library is shared over my LAN, even to the Internet (subsonic). The best application I've found are Spottily and Groove shark, they're a beauty to use since the music is always available - but unfortunately they don't allow for any kind of remote control. So I thought; what if I could use some of the great media players for Android but just change the audio device they're playing on. Since Lucid Lynx actually brought an updated version of Pulse audio (the default audio device) which allows you to play music onto another computer on the network!

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a remote control (not app) for headphones that can control play/pause/volume? I listen to music at night and on long trips and it would be great to have something like this so I don't have to keep pulling out the phone. This would be the final blow to getting rid of my iPod once and for all
Alternatively, I wonder if there is a wireless one via bluetooth but that would kill the battery...
Google Now starts itself whenever I connect my headset to my note 3. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
I've tried disabling google now but google voice search comes up instead.
Is there any remote control app that will work on hulu desktop? I have "mycontrol" which works on windows media center, however, it's not 100% compatible with hulu desktop. It hardly can navigate up and down but works fine with right and left buttons. If there's any remote control works perfectly with hulu, that would be just awesome since there are way more videos on hulu than my windows media center.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've seen I think one million threads for apps available to turn your Android phone in to a remote control for your PC, but nothing that goes the other way. I've just come from several years of Windows Mobiling and I've always had access to several apps that will allow me to control my phone from my PC.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSince the Playstation 3 uses bluetooth, the remote that you buy in stores for it is bluetooth, and our Motorola Droids are bluetooth compatible, would it be possible for someone (not me cause I don't know how) to make an app that would enable the Droid to be a bluetooth remote for the Playstation 3?? I know there are apps to turn it into a remote, but I think this requires an separate adapter or receiver. Anyways, if anyone knows if its even possible or not, please let me know. If it is possible, does anyone want to tackle this app?? I know I would be willing to pay for it, as I'm sure others might as well.
