Every time I get an incoming call, something weird happens. I see the number call up on my caller ID and then like 10 seconds later it rings. Has anybody else experienced this or is it just me? Is their any settings I can go to adjust ring time?

So recently my eris has beeping ringing very quite. My text messaging notification is as loud as normal, but everytime I get a call I cant hear my phone unless I am right next to it.

I'd much prefer the beep as it is very disruptive and a friend asked me the other day what that noise was. It was my phone ringing for an incoming call!

The app would have an answer button that when pressed would perform the regular call answer action, but this isn't what I need help with. I've searched the internet and haven't been able to find any consensus on this issue. My app only needs to run during the call ringing stage and nothing more. What would I have to listen for to do this and what manifest entries would I need? Forgive my incorrect/nonexistant use of terminology, I haven't worked with Android in close to a year and haven't freshened up fully yet.

However today the incoming sms messages i was receiving were being delayed by almost two hours and it has happened several times throughout the day.I am on the orange network and the coverage in my area is excellent.

This has happened before and I fixed it, but i do not remember how.After I loaded wiped and loaded BB a weird ringtone that I don't remember having rings after a missed call.And it doesn't stop.I was walking around PetSmart today and I thought there was music coming from the shelves but it was really quiet.I was thoroughly confused until I went to the parking lot and figured out that it followed me, then deduced it was my phone.So this should be easy to turn off/silence I just can't figure it out.Anyone - you will get a "thanks" if it works.

My mobile is always on silent.. Because of my professional requirements.
What I am looking is a software by which I can add specific numbers (my wife; my dad and my mom and my boss).. These four numbers I want to add to a list which will always ring even if my mobile is on silent mode.
I recently bought this phone from Rogers (I still have a week to test this thing out to make sure it's not broken) I'm noticing that answering incoming calls can sometimes take up to 20 seconds before the other side can hear me! I can make calls and people can hear me as soon as the call begins but I'm answering the phone after it has shut itself down (I mean the screen goes dark and then I need to slide the slider on the screen to answer the call) SOMETIMES there will be a few seconds delay, sometimes nothing but I've had up to 20 seconds delay on multiple occasions I'm running 1.6, and from the sounds of it, we won't get 2.1 until next month but is ANYONE else getting these issues? Should I return this phone for another? This is inexcusable and I am having too many callers hang up the phone on me because they think they have a bad connection but in reality there is a delay before they can hear me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an issue where occasionally a call will go straight to my voicemail without ringing or otherwise notifying until there suddenly appears a voicemail. And I don't think it even shows up as a missed call. Anyone else have this happen or know what the cause may be? My phone is set to ring & vibrate, and is usually just sitting there asleep. I'm not on another call or otherwise using it. But I can test call it right after and it's fine. Frustrating.

Well today I heard it again so I decided to check it out, so I called myself on my girlfriends phone and lo and behold I could hear myself on my Evo while it was ringing before I even touched the slide to unlock.

I tried to slide it to drop the call and nothing happened. I then mashed a bunch of buttons in frustration and think i rebooted my phone. It did it again to me today, though after about 10 seconds it finally allowed me to answer the phone. I have weatherbug going without GPS as that killed the battery, also have pocket empires going today.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOften my Droid will only ring one time for an incoming call. If the call is left unanswered it is auto-answered after a "normal" amount of time. But I can watch the screen of my quiet Droid after the initial ring and count the seconds until it's auto-answered with my recorded greeting. It should be ringing during that time.
It seems to do this randomly, though it's really tough to troubleshoot and tell definitively. I sat for two hours with my wife's Droid, my laptop phone program and our regular house phone and got consistently inconsistent results!
I've yanked every phone call specific app and reinstalled them systematically, rebooting each time. I've taken a look at system apps to see if there is a conflict. I've also looked at (and pulled & reinstalled) audio setting apps looking for a conflict.
I've changed ring tones to MP3 clips, and while they do play in their entirety, they usually repeat and they are not. I've even done a hack to the system/build.prop file that changes the delay before the phone rings.
I just can't seem to figure out what's going on. Anyone have any ideas?
I want to be able to call the following method after a specified delay. In objective c there was something like:

Is there an equivalent of this method in java? For example I need to be able to call a method after 5 seconds. Code...
I am writing a service which listens an incoming call. I have a function but it behaves differently under these cases when i call the function in case case Telephony Manager . CALL _STATE_OFFHOOK: it works! when I call the same function in case case Telephony Manager. CALL _STATE_RINGING: it doesnt work. it seems that when an incoming call happens the system blocks some components. what should I do to prevent from this situation. Should I move my calculation to a background thread? Does it work in that way?
