Aug 1, 2010so we just got the Eris for my gf (I have a rooted droid) and she's loving the phone, but is def a BIG adjustment from the blackberry. The biggest problem that we are having is that the phone will not ring until about the 3rd or 4th ringtone, which by the 6th or so, it goes to VM anyways.... so If I call her (or anyone) I'll hear the calling tone from my end, and on the 4th one or so, finally her phone will ring, but you have about 5 seconds then it goes to voice mail... can anyone help me with this? if it matters, I do have google voice setup with gvoice as the stock vmail... I don't remember if it was doing that before this

Jan 6, 2010For some reason my Eris refuses to allow me to select a default ringtone. I can select a ringtone from the list and listen to it, but when a call comes in, I get 2 Step, the first ringtone in the list. I've rebooted and removed the battery, but neither of these fixed the problem. I called Verizon tech support and was told to enter Settings from Apps, which I did and it actually worked...once. Now, it's failing solid.

Mar 16, 2010I posted this in the Eris 2.1 leak bugs and fixes thread, but it was lost and ignored in a "back-n-forth" by two other members."For some reason, my ringtones get very loud when receiving a phone call.Regardless of how low I set the volume, it starts at the set volume for a split second, then gets loud to about 80% of full volume.Tried rebooting a few times and double checking the settings.Any one else experience this? "

May 16, 2010I did the manual update to 2.1 yesterday and everything's great except for one issue.I have a ringtone set for my wife so that I know when she's calling but for some reason since the update it plays the default ringtone for her.I've tried deleting her contact and then manually adding the contact back, I've tried changing the ringtone to something else and then back to what I want but the problem persists. Please help, this is really frustrating.

May 17, 2010Back when I got my phone, I transfered an MP3 from the computer to the SD card and selected it as ringtone. it is still there and still works.....but now, after the OTA update, when I go into settings/phone ringtone this sound is not on the list. How do I get it back?
Also, under notifications, in the list of sounds the ones on my SD card are not there. I have a sound stored on the card that I would like to set as the notification. I mounted the card to my computer to verify that these files are indeed on the SD card. The phone just isn't seeing them in the list of available sounds...but, they do play if I go into MP3 or Music app.

Aug 18, 2010My fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.

May 9, 2010Just wondering if there is anyway to set my phone in such a way that my ring tone will turn off when I open the phone (either unlock/ do anything to the phone). As it is right now my ring tone (a full mp3 song imported from my pc) will play until I drag down my notification bar. I'm using tone picker and handcent sms if it makes any difference.
Also, is there a way to edit the the keyboard input sound when typing with the stock keyboard?

Motorola Droid :: "Missed" Call App Breaks In 2.2
Aug 11, 2010Was a fan of this app. Used it to give me custom color LED (purple) and sound for a call that was missed. As well, for calendar services I used it to flash a custom color LED (blue) and play a sound. Essentially, you could override the system settings and pickup where it left off.Well, as of 2.2 this app is busted. The dev claims to have made a more 2.2 friendly versions.. but its busted. No more color LED selections - stock Droid green and green only - and the Calendar notifications are 100% busted. A missed notification call works in that you can get your custom sound, but only green LED (which is already the stock color for like 3-4 other notification). But like I said.. nothing for calendar.So.. anyone have any tips for replacements in 2.2.I found one - Calendar Notification - and it CAN do colored LED (I used blue) and a custom tone that broke in Missed Call. And I still use Missed Call for missed calls, but hate the green LED. Would love to find 1 app to do it all, hate having 2 apps - 1 of which is busted. and BTW, never figured out why the dev always says the gMail notification is not possible. I have used an app - and they have a 2.2 version that works perfect - called gMail Notifier.

Jul 3, 2010I had to do a factory reset on my Eris. Kept getting the "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly" error and nothing but the reset worked. Aug 4, 2010So today my USB breaks so the phone doesn't charge without putting some torque on the cable (I'm sure the USB jack has pulled off the motherboard). Should I live with the hassle until 2.2 is rooted, or return the phone for a replacement and risk that they will force an update to stock 2.2? I'm assuming I'd have to return to stock before taking phone in for service, too (and just after I finished getting everything setup after updating to rooted Froyo).

When I put the app on my HTC Hero, it works fine. But if I reboot the phone, the application icon stops using the icon.png, and instead begins to use the go_bg.png. The button that uses the go.xml no longer works either. Rebooting the phone basically breaks the app. I can reinstall the app and it again works fine all up until I reboot.
I know of two ways to get the app on the phone, first using Eclipse and second using the HTC Sync software that came with the phone. Installing the app either way produces the same issues in the end.
I've tried renaming the button image names and the xml file. Nothing helps there.
My phone is the HTC Hero. In Eclipse I'm building using the 1.5 SDK.
Any idea why rebooting my phone breaks my app?
