Anyone else having problems with entering text while using opera mini? To clarify: about 1 out of every 3 times I enter text on any type of web site, or forum such as this, after entering and pressing POST, it erases all of the text. I am using 2.1v2 and had this problem before I updated. I am also using swype lite.

At this point I feel like an idiot not being able to find it. I know that it's usually just a microphone on the keyboard, but there is definitely no mic icon for me. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone been able to use voice-to-text on their newly updated Droid Eris?
I would honestly love to find out that I'm just being stupid and the answer is right in front of me... but the more I look, the more discouraged I get.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am very interested in getting an android phone soon but I need to use a certain browser which for some reason is the ONLY mobile browser that works with my home security cameras.I have tried them all (opera,skyfire,iris etc) the only one that works, and works well, is opera mini 3 or mini 2.4.
Any newer versions of opera mini don't work. Go figure. So far I have used it only on windows mobile 6.0
If Opera mini 5 works on the android platform, do you think earlier versions,IE. 3.0 or 2.4 would also work? does it have to be downloaded as an app or can I install the version I have saved (it is not available from opera anymore}

when i am composing a text message, sometimes the box of the entry goes larger and goes back smaller, is there a way to increase the text entry box size, say, double tap on it to bring up a whole screen text entry area?

When I go to gmail in the stock browser or Dolphin, I get an "enhanced" version of gmail. It has tabs across the top and is quicker to navigate around.Is there a way to get this enhanced version when using Opera Mini? Hopefully I am clear enough on the differences.

Opera seems to load very fast as does Dolphin, is there any differences between the two? Haven't tried Youtube on Opera but works fine in 3G on Dolphin (because I know the Youtube app on 1.5 doesn't). I do love the pinch zoom that Dolphin has. Question if and when we ever get the OTA to 2.x, I heard the pinch zoom will be disabled, is this true? I hope not.

We're talking about 30 seconds in standard browser compared to about 1 second in Opera.What's that about?Is everybody else finding the same thing? I have been facing a problem from quite a while now that I cannot access Facebook or Google through any browser except Opera Mini.
It always gives me an error that could not locate remote server and/or check your network connection.I'm using wifi and Facebook and Google works just fine on my PC on same network. Even the Facebook Android app works properly and all other applications also work perfectly on the Internet. So this is not a problem with my network connection.
Only browsers do not load these pages, I have tried the stock browser, Dolphin, one browser, opera classic previously called opera mobile and other browsers too. A few months ago they were working but now not.I did not try Firefox or Opera Beta Browser because the are too heavy for my phone.
Opera Mini works, obviously because it does all loading and processing in its servers.I think that there maybe a certificate or authentication problem in my phone which is causing this.

Trying to get the cursor at the exact point where you want to make an edit is virtually impossible without multiple tries. When entering in text and using the predictive text entry, when you select the word it always enters a space...if you're saving something it will append that space to the end of the filename making you have to hit the "X" Delete key to erase it. Is there any easy way to not have it input the space automatically (didn't see it in settings?).
Also how do you tell it to automatically put a period at the end of the word etc? I've done it by accident before but no idea how I did it!
Does anyone know how to set the Opera Mini Browser as a default web browser instead of the Stock android?

I used TapText by DinarSoft on WinMo and that was great for tapping and it would enter preconfigured text - date, name, address - anything you wanted! Is there anything similar for Android? I've had a search but all I can find is stuff for texting/sms but this is for use in any program that has a text field.
