Mar 13, 2010I was wondering if there was a compiled list of the secret menu/featre codes that some ppl have found. I remember using a couple to get into menus to adjust some stuff, but forget what they were. If there isn't, then this post can serve as a place to start it !

Jan 4, 2010I manually updated the phone with the file that was posted here as the leaked update. The process was easy and pretty much headache free. I used the trial version of MyBackup app and it did what its supposed to do. However I am facing some problems and have some questions also.
1. It seems that my display is not working correctly now. Maybe it is just me, but i can tell that that the backlight is not as responsive as it should be. It doesnt go to the set brightness level as fast and smooth as it was.
2. I let MyBackup restore the apps also and it was a mistake in my opinion. It erased the apps in "My downloads". Now not only can't I find a certain app (USA Today seems to disappear...and no, not the USA Today widget one. that one sucks. Anyone knows what happened to it?) I also dont know how to uninstall an app if it is not in my downloads. I suppose in manage applications? Correct me if I am wrong.
3. For me YouTube app started working better, but still says it cant play video in High Quality mode.
4. Anyone using something different from the People app?
5. Could not find a post about how to erase the vocabulary you added. I spelled something wrong and need to get rid of it.
6. The email is set to update once i day..still i get the notification as soon as I receive one. Help?
Overall, there is a little speed improvement. I didnt notice any drastic improvement, but its just quicker a bit. However, Id rather have my display back to working the way its supposed to be. I can wait until the OTA officially comes out.

Feb 11, 2010I woke up after a nap this afternoon (you know, after coloring but before recess ) ... and i had received a text and i went to reply and my auto correct didnt know the word 'you' 'eat' and a few others and i am sure there are many more i will find. i do not know how to fix it. i guess i will just have to work through it and add the words it doesnt know.
But also if i type 'lol' then by default 'LOL' will come up if i press space unless i manually go up and select 'lol' in the little word list predict thing <--yes, that is the actual HTC given name , this is also the case for many other words and if i add the word to the dictionary it still might not use it automatically. even if i spell it right and it is in the list it may use another word when i press space.

May 22, 2010When I start the camera up, it shows nothing but black (no, the lens isn't covered in any way/shape/form). If I hit the track ball as usual it acts as though it's taking a picture though it's also nothing but black. What am I missing here? BTW, I'm on 2.1 and did a factory reset two days ago.

Dec 17, 2009I think this has been posted before but I haven't found an answer yet. I'm using the one-day calender widget. When I have an all day event, it shows the wrong date. For instance, I have a all day event on the 18th; today is the 16th and it's showing the event as being tomorrow.
Anyone else have this problem and find a fix yet?
I'm affraid I'll show up at the wrong place a day early or a day late...

Nov 15, 20091) In the Phone app. Above (and extending behind the keypad) is a list of your contacts. Contacts which have no First or Last Name" but which do have a company name, just show up as "Unknown" with a phone number. The obvious thing would be to show the Company name if there is no personal name. I believe the "People" app does this correctly. Anyone else notice?
2) The browser hides the notifications bar. So if I get an email I have to back out of the browser to find it. Am I missing something?
3) When using the "messages" app to send SMS, if you use the landscape keyboard, you can not see the "send" button, so you are forced to hide the keyboard before you can send a message. Feature or bug?
4) When opening the browser (presumably if it is not still being kept open) there is a several second (feels longer) delay where you stare at a white screen. The device then says "retrieving sign in details". Then, finally, loads the page. What's up with that?

If I use app2sd should I be wiping something extra when I install a new ROM? What does it do when it wipes the cache partition and dalvik?

Jun 28, 2010Just got root today thanks to the great work everyone did to get it working for those who installed the leak. I've been trying a number of roms, but can't get any of them to connect to my work exchange account which is a dealbreaker for me. I thought 2.1 added the password unlock feature, but all the roms are saying "Exchange ActiveSync server requires security features your phone does not support" and I believe they've all been 2.1. What am I doing wrong?

Try Again later" Have been trying all day This is different from the normal, "you phone is up to date..." Called tech support and they said I need to wait for the update to be pushed to my device, but I know this isnt the case.

I am using a progressbar widget in my application to show the download progress.
In the current state, I am able to manually move the slider back and forth while download is progressing. How can I prevent the manual moving of progressbar, instead it works only based on
progressbar.setProgress(progressbar.getProgress() + 1024); -- currently this works perfect, but I need to prevent the manual moving of progressbar during download.
