I installed Helix today and like it better than sense. I'm using Beautiful Widgets for my network controllers and weather. Since Beautiful Widgets doesn't have a 3g widget, is their one in the market I can get?

Just last night my mobile networking widet stopped working. If I remove it from my home screen it will start working again but only for a little while. I recently installed task panel and turned on the auto kill feature...I'm wondering if there is something I'm killing that is doing it but i dont see anything obvious.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...

View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought this handy little widget a few weeks ago because it gives me a much better idea of my signal strength. It works great most of the time. The only issues come when I reboot my phone and the widget, option for the widget and icon disappear from my phone. I have to uninstall/reinstall it to get it back up again. I emailed the dev and have yet to receive a response. Any ideas on a fix for this or is it just a marketing scam to inflate his download numbers?

I have been trying to find a way of quickly switching off/on the Mobile Network setting from the home screen. When searching Google there's loads of pages stating that it is an HTC Widget that can be added. I have checked all the widgets on the Desire HD and cannot seem to find it anywhere. I am using an unbranded handset.
The Desire HD manual even states "You can also add widgets that allow you to quickly switch on or off certain settings of your phone, such as Wi-Fi, Mobile Network...".
Does anyone else with an HD handset have this widget ?
What are some Apps that Eris 1.5 users can't get from the market but will be able to once 2.1 hits?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an Eris from Craigslist. It had 2.1 on it. I recently got my number ported and activated on the eris on pageplus. Although the weird thing, and this happened before the activation. Is after i used the wifi widget and the 3g turned off the mobile network wont turn on. I tried using the widget toggle as well as in the menu. Its just always stuck as " Turning On".Do i have to do anything to fix this? I thought i saw a thread about this the other night but now i cant find it. I also did a hard reset thinking that would fix the problem before i did OTA Activation.

View 3 Replies View Relatedlong time reader, first time poster.My question is- if I have wifi turned on and am connected, and have it set to never disconnect when sleepeing, should I turn mobile network off?So basically, will/can the info pulled to my phone over the mobile network be pulled over wifi with no impact on my end? This question is mostly in respect to battery life.
I just thought I would mention unchecking this option causes pandora to stop playing after ever doing when the phone is locked.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had installed the "quick settings" app that was mentioned in another thread. When I tried to open it this morning to turn on the mobile network (I usually keep it off at home), a message popped up saying the application was not updated properly and it needed to be removed and reinstalled. I tried to go to settings>wireless controls to turn on the mobile network but that isn't working either. When I look at the button to turn on the mobile network in the settings, it says "standby to connect to mobile network", I click it, it goes away and says "connect to internet" but when I click it again it just tries and then stops after a minute or so. I removed the quick settings app and restarted the phone, but that didn't help.This happened once before and I just connected to WiFi and reinstalled the quick settings app, but now I'm somewhere where I don't have WiFi access. If it matters, I also have a shortcut button installed to turn the mobile network on and off, but that isn't doing anything either. Any suggestions?

I would've thought there would be, but I can't find any that do that. I got an Eris recently and couldn't import my contacts from my old phone, so I was hoping I could do it this way.
Does anyone else have problems with this not working? I have a shortcut on my main screen to this and all of a sudden since yesterday I have to hit the network button like 10 times for it to turn on or off. I have to keep it off at work otherwise I won't have enough beattery life in it to get past 3 o'clock due to signal loss in my building.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOccasionally when I wake my phone up the 3g mobile network has shut itself off. It will come back automatically in a few seconds of waking the phone up, but for some reason, it's turning off while asleep. I've noticed this with my wifi as well.
I caught this problem because my Gmail has been arriving to my pc, but not my phone. This doesn't happen all the time, but it seems to be happening more lately.
A couple of days ago I took some advice from this forum and switched off mobile networks. I sit by a computer all day with no need for email or internet for the most part. I have leak V2.1.2b. I use Touchdown for 4 email accounts although it will only sync one at a time and Gmail sync when on mobile. My battery life without mobile was about 90% last night whereas usually it would be at 30% or lower. I used the phone a lot yesterday, got some text messages, pretty much the same as the previous days. So what is going on? Why does the mobile network drain the battery so much? On my BB Pearl I had a mobile network on all the time, syncing 4 accounts every 15 minutes and never such drain as this. BTW, it was way worse drain on 1.5. It just sounds weird, like the radio is inefficient or something.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently been having an issue where my Mobile Data randomly does not work. When I go to settings, it is checked as enabled. I have to uncheck and recheck this to get it to 'turn back on' or refresh.I haven't been able to see a pattern yet for why it's turning off, but it seems to sometimes do it after it goes to sleep. I have tried enabling 'Always On' for the data connection, but this doesn't help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is news to me and I figured i would share it with my fellow Droiders. I just switched from the Eris to the Moto Droid. I figured switching would render my Eris usless because when starting up the Moto Droid, I had to go through an update orientation and had to connect the phone to a number before getting a chance to view the hoem screen. However, my Eris still works. I can not make phone calls, but I can still use it with the Wifi in my house and can play the music that is stored on the memory card. It is like an Eris Touch. I can also still get apps from the Market and update existing apps.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI purchased an Incredible, which I was not too happy with, so I decided to send it back and reactivate my Eris. My Eris was at 2.1v2 at the time. I called Verizon and had them do the switch through their customer service number.
Immediately I began to notice that I had a lack of 3G. My Turn Mobile On setting would be stuck on "Turning On". I could force it by switching airplane on and off and then using the power button to choose Mobile settings. Once I'd get it on, 3G would be spotty and drop in and out, and when I do have it it is ridiculously slow. Speed test shows downloads of 302 kbps and uploads of 1023 so it appears I have upload 3G but not download. Many times throughout the day I get data connection failures on apps requiring internet.
So, I called Verizon, we went through all their steps including escalation to tech support and they decide it is my Eris (which worked perfectly previously). They are sending me a replacement. In the interim, I went back to the Incredible. And immediately had the exact same problem on the Incredible. I called Verizon, and went through all their steps, and now they want to send me a new Incredible. I went back to the Eris, and upgraded to 2.1v3, still the same problem. I am 100% confident that when I get the replacement Eris it will solve nothing. APNs are at correct default.
In order to conserve battery life, I am in the habit of turning off my mobile network whenever I'm not using it. At home, I have mobile network off, and wi-fi enabled. Over the past several days, I notice that when I try to toggle mobile network to on, it doesn't work. After going in to settings, for mobile network, it says Turning on... After restarting my phone, mobile network always turn on successfully.

Basically, i try to turn on my mobile network and it freezes at "turning on" i hit the back arrow, head back in and it says that the connection failed or "standby for connecting to the mobile network.The only thing different i have done today is install spare parts, and read a few issues people had with sense turning off, and wondered if maybe something within it is bugging my phone, just a thought though.

I am almost able to log in to it, but then it asks me for my birthday because I'm not browsing from a "familiar location". So I select my correct birth date from the drop-down menus, but the Login button stays grayed out for some reason and I can't go any further. Has anyone else had any success?My reason for wanting this is so I can access the actual Notifications page. The way I currently have it set up, I get an e-mail notification in Gmail. Then when I click the link in the e-mail for whatever update it's supposed to take me to, it just takes me to the homepage of Facebook Mobile. Then sometimes it won't even list the New Notifications link. This makes it very inconvenient if I want to go find where to reply to a comment or something. I have to know exactly where it is, which is difficult if it's not recent.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy status on Google Talk never changes despite the fact that I have the settings checked in settings to "go to away when I turn off the screen" as well as "show mobile indicator to friends". This wasn't functional in 1.5, 2.1v1 and now 2.1v3 on my Eris. Has anyone had success? I've seen this function work on a TMobile rooted G1 but that's it.
I can watch the indicator change on the web when I change it manually (signed in as another user), and its very responsive. However, no auto-away when i lock the phone, and no indication that I'm on a mobile phone.
Someone had it on their show your ui in this section, it's a facebook page just like the twitter one that comes stock.. I'd rather have the facebook one then the twitter, since i dont really use twitter all that much. does anyone know what it is? I've looked through the widgets but cant seem to find it... Unless its a program..
