View 2 RepliesIs there an EASY start to finish tutorial out there?
Everything I found is for a specific ROM (I have XTRROM3) and looks really complicated.
My phone is showing the low memory icon and it's really annoying, so I'd like to get this figured out.
How to set up SD card?
View 27 Replies View RelatedCan you use Apps2sd on the xtrROM 4.6? If so, how do I do it?

View 44 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed that in the FroYo ROMS, the entire app is not stored on the SD card? If I click on the SD card tab under 'manage applications' and look at a certain app (Astro, eg.), it only shows that 1.5mb is stored on the SD card. I know for certain that Astro is around 3.5mb. I've experienced this with every FroYo ROM I've had.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to this site although i've used it plenty of times for help with my eris. (for which i thank everyone) i've been looking into rooting and custom roms and whatnot for a while and last thursday i rooted and add the tainted vanilla v1.4 custom ROM and i love it. the wi-fi tethering and overclocking is so awesome. but i was wondering if my new rom automatically saves apps to the sd or if i have to enable this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEverytime i use the gscript app to make a new script for apps2sd on, and i reboot, it still says that i have 27mb of internal memory. When i used kaos froyo and white widow 4.6 it always said that i had around 100mb of internal memory... i have partitioned my sd card and did the ex2 to ex3.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running CM6, and want to move my apps2sd, but can anyone tell me which apps should go to SD or just keep on the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running succulent desire 7.0 simply black on my droid with chevys 1.2 kernel, and under manage applications I don't have the option to move all apps to the sd card. Only a select few are moveable. My sd card is partitioned also. How can I get the option to store all the apps on sd. I remember seeing a way on terminal emulator, but I forget the code/steps.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs the title suggests, is it possible to add/implement apps2sd into an ESE81 ROM? This is the only feature CM offers that I am really after... I understand of course the kernel also has to allow for this, which AFAIK the regular ESE81 kernels do not do as of yet..
If not, hopefully CM for Droid gets more refined/polished specifically for the Droid itself soon..
Anyone running it on their droid with the stock 16GB card? i believe it is a class 4, but we need a class 6, correct?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I have moved several apps from internal memory to my SD card using the 'Move app to sdcard' option in managing programs. My question is where does it actually move the apps? I know by default the apps get installed to /system/app but where is the sdcard location?
View 9 Replies View RelatedForce apps2sd with Titanium backup! Make sure you have froyo, busybox, and of course root. Once in titanium backup, go to all your apps, long press on one such as flash 10.1 app and you can move it to your SD card! Note: not all apps can be forced to SD card, but most can! View 29 Replies View RelatedHad Hero for 4-5 weeks now and love it big time. Slightly anxious on the old rooting and adding ROM to the phone myself. Had a look through the various stickys and steps to follow etc. not totally clued up on how it will work right enough? One question I have is, if I root the phone (Following ?UnLockr? website steps), can i then add the Apps2sd app to the phone and move app to there myself and for future downloads?
Do I need to add customer ROM b4 i can do this or does rooting the phone and leaving defauly ROM on phone allow for the apps2sd app work on the phone?
I just installed VillainROM 10.3.0 and here it says:

I am new to not only the forum but the phone and rooting the phone as well. I have a desire on froyo 2.2, and just rooted it using the unrevoked 3.21 method. Now i would like to use apps 2 sd properly with partitions and whatever? Again my apologies, i do not fully understand the process and any information would be much appreciated.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen i partition my SD to include an ext2 partition my phone does not boot, it gets to the white htc boot screen (phone is rooted using modaco rom) but doesn't boot. it boots if just merely formatted but not when partitioned. anyone know a solution? or maybe a windows program that can partition ext2?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm relatively new to the rooting lark but I've managed to get Villain 5.2 up and running. However I can't seem to get Apps2SD working with it. I've partitioned the SD card and changed Ext2 to Ext3, but when I run Apps2SD it tells me there's a problem and I should check out the tutorial (which links to a deleted thread)...
Anyone used Villain 5.2 with Apps2SD who can help?
Has anyone got a guide to setting up Apps2sd? I partitioned, and cant seem to figure out how to move my apps to my card..
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to know whether apps2sd is working or not?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've tried to get apps2sd working on my phone. In fact, I flashed my rom all over again to get it working, as I couldn't be bothered to manually uninstall everything on my phone.
I flashed the MoDaCo r5 rom (the most recent on, based on the 2.1 GSM build). I then went into the recovery menu. created the ext2 partition and upgraded it to an ext3 partiton, as per the instructions.
I've installed a load of applications, I see the phone memory has gone down to a fraction over 40mb remaining. So, I reboot the phone (as I'm aware that the apps transfer over to the memory card during the reboot), and when I turn it back on, the internal memory remains at a fraction over 40mb.
just installed navigon and its taken my internal memory down to 130mb from about 140mb. is there anyway i can check if apps 2 sd is working?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have searched and read and followed all steps I could to the T. I cannot seem to get Apps2SD to work. I am using Drellisdee's recovery as well as Trident's Velocity 3. I have formatted the SD card to 0mb swap with 512mb Ext.3 and FAT32 for the rest. I have an 8GB class 2 (I know it sucks) SD card. I tried using Drellisdee's recovery and the one included with ROM Manager. I have verified I have the Ext partition through Titanium backup. it shows that I have 102 out of 159MB free on my internal storage and 220 out of 480MB free on my A2sd partition. If I long press on an app on Titanium backup I am not allowed to move it to the SD (The option is grayed out) and when I install an app the internal space goes down. It doesn't seem to matter if I install the app from a backup or directly from the market.
I have tried re-flashing the recovery and ROM multiple times with no luck. If anyone could help me I would be VERY great full.
As of now, you have to go to settings->applications->manage applications and open up every app individually just to even SEE if its enabled as an option.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can I confirm that apps2sd is working properly? Every time I install an app my internal memory decreases (I'm pretty sure that means it is not working). Is there a folder located on the sd card where all of my apps should be located?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter testing both stock 2.1 and 2.2 and different rom bakes, the conclusion is that the Incredible for some reason does not really have "true" apps2sd (as define by Android). It appears that regardless of if most of an app is moved to the sd or not, the total available app space is nowhere near even the 748mb on device and the ceiling is actually around 500mb when "low on space" errors begin popping up.
Key example is when apps are shifted to the sd, the low on space error still happened, regardless of cache and message spaces being clean. I tested this with stock as well. The app install space is not to be confused with data downloads that some apps automatically install to sd (games like Quake, Nova, etc), but the actuall apps2sd move process in the app manager. It does not matter where the weight of the apps is installed, since whether having 300mb apps on the device and 200mb apps on the card results in the same thing as 500mb of apps on the device and 0mb apps on the sd- low on space is the result. On the Incredible, apps2sd is really app displacement. As a result, it is better not to use apps2sd, since saves space on the microsd card and makes no difference to the amount of apps you can install. Also, there is no way to get anywhere near the 748mb, yet alone having that much on the device and part of apps on the microsd (total would be a more than 748mb).
Rooted my phone yesterday and installed Teppic's rooted stock rom and loving it. I am trying to create a partition so I can use Apps2SD but I am having major issues. I am following the thread below but when I get to the parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 part its not working. Anyone got any idea's? Probably just me being dumb! Have tried googling it but all a bit confusing
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I've rooted my Desire at last and have now got FW version 2.1-update 1 with software v 1.15.405.4 installed. Sorry in advance for the nooby Q's but the apps2sd is getting me all confused here a bit. I've also bought the premium version of ROM Manager, it has the facilty to look for the most popular roms for your particular android phone. I picked out (randomly really) the Shadowfrost 0.5 rom and it's currently (slowly) downloading! I've got a 16gb sandisk SD card that I have just copied everything over onto my PC. There's also a function in rom manager to partition the SD card that I might use too. If it allocates a 512mb Ext3 partition and the rest as fat32 for my pics music etc....will that be it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIf you are using apps2sd, will all apps install on the sdcard by default or can some go into internal storage space? Reason I ask is that I had previously removed ThinkFree Office from my stock ROM for space saving purposes. Now with apps2sd capabilities, I figured i'd reinstall it (from an .apk backup I had) since it would go on the sd card, so I thought. After installing it, it seems like it installed under internal storage space because I lost about 9mb of internal storage, which happens to be the same size as the app itself.
