View 5 RepliesI installed the zip that created by UOT kitchen, using recovery. Now After entering PIN it reboots. If I leave it as it is without entering my PIN it popups messages for broken apps that failed to start.I decided to do the wipe user data (panic) from recovery console, but now after reboot I can only see the flashing word ANDROID on a black background.I was using the OTA stock rom but rooted with unrevoked 3.21. I used the framework apk from /system/ at UOT kitchen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm want to try to make my own custom ROM for the Motorola Triumph.
My questions are:
What programs will i need in my ROM kitchen?
What are some good resources for when i get stuck?
For instance, I want to make a port of kitkat for my tablet using android kitchen. How would I go about doing that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've one doubt in uot, If I'm applying a mod like status bar mod, do I need to configure every thing or only what I want to change?
For example I just want to make my status bar transparent, so do I need to configure other things like notifications, topbar etc. too along with status bar?
"What I want to know is if uot creates a new mod and replaces it in the uploaded files or does it changes specific things in the files I provided?"
This is for Rooted users with fresh rom using Pre-kitchen.Can someone tell me how to use kitchen?I have fresh 1.1, I downlaoded pre-kitchen to my PC and unzipped to it's own folder.I open the exe and the kitchen pops up. View 8 Replies View RelatedIn a word, this combo is *awesome*. Very easy to install once I figured out the .NET issue with my windows pc (just needed to update the .NET stuff, @ windowsupdate.com, pretty easy), and very easy to use, though it sure would be nice if the "Kitchen Tutorial" section of geekforme.com was completed. I'm a clicker and tweaker by nature and I knew I couldn't screw up too badly (just flash it back to stock and start over if things turn sour) so away I went. There really is no need to fear with this (pre) Kitchen set up.The auto-root was FAST and very easy. Pulling unwanted applications and pushing files to the device, also simple. Even swapping the theme and lock screen was pretty easy. A good, solid tutorial on the site (which I understand is in progress) would have helped, but there are good people in this and other forums who are happy to help if one gets stuck.
I had rooted my phone previously and removed many stock applications, so I did not notice as large of a performance jump that most do coming from a stock device, but it seems a bit snappier, post Fresh.I have noticed that my battery seems to be draining quicker post Fresh. I charged fully before bed, placed the phone in Airplane Mode and set it on the table. When I woke up this morning, the device had dropped to 50% in 6-7 hours of no use. I don't recall seeing any threads talking about speedy drain post root/fresh, so I'm looking into it. There are no apps installed that I didn't have on the phone before I noticed faster battery drain, save for those installed with Fresh.I'd say it was due to me playing with it more, but I was sleeping... Unless I'm fiddling with it in my sleep... The phone shows an up time of 8hr 27min with an awake percentage of 81%. It seems I've missed something that's keeping the phone awake. Suggestions?
Andrizoids_Deodex_Kitchen_V4
What started as a simple script to help me deodex a single file has turned into a full fledged project.
This is the first ever all in one deodex kitchen for linux.
V3 now does EVERYTHING for you, all you need to do is change the paths and choose your rom!
Make sure to read the README file first!
Bugs
These files will not deodex in the Plain Jane Rom, when trying you get an error about superclasspaths or something.
-Bluetooth.odex
-HtcFootprints..odex
-HtcLocationPicker.odex
-htcmsgwidgets.odex
-Settings.odex
-com.htc.resources.jar
Extract to your desktop, then check out the README file for full instructions.
Changelog
V4
Fixed some of the code, added the optional make-rom.sh which adds the freshly de-odexed files to the original rom and signs it making it ready to flash.
V3
Everything is fully automated, and will deodex the whole rom rather than one file at a time. Smali and Baksmali version updated to 1.2.3
V2
Added setup.sh to make things easier.
V1
Original script.
I recently rooted and flashed my phone with fresh everything works great, except that I was able to change my theme only once. I am currently using the brocks theme, I tried to use kitchen to change it to defresh lastnight, and it said the process completed, but the theme is still brocks. Is there something im not doing?

11/Jan 3.1 - Online kitchen for MoDaCo Custom ROM for GSM Hero - Android @ MoDaCo
The online kitchen is currently only available to my MoDaCo premium members (those who have signed up to MoDaCo Ad Free or MoDaCo Plus) as it is not yet running on an infrastructure that can support a huge number of users. This will be the case for the foreseeable future as the kitchen system is developed.
With that said, for those who can test the kitchen, enjoy! I've had this vision for a long time, so it's exciting to see the pieces falling together - both here and in the Android 'scene' - to make it happen!
This technology will be coming to other ROMs and will also be available for other ROM creators to use via our Chef's Team.
Is there a tutorial on how to root using fresh-pre-kitchen? Also I want to know how to load the Fresh rom on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy mum won this GT-P7320T branded to telstra ( Australia) and overall, the hardware specs werent too bad, but before the ics update came out finally in january it was terribe to use.
The update has actually been a massive improvement, but being branded and all that junk is as annoying as hell, so i have decided to build my own rom. this is my first time building a rom. ive flashed plenty, but its a different kettle of fish.
i am using the telstra branded stock ics rom with rom kitchen to try to build something acceptable, but first things first, the compiled rom must boot. because the device isnt supported i have to create i file in the /directory_to_kitchen/tools/edify_defs named GT-P7320T defining all the mount points.
this is where it gets tricky, here is the contents of the /directory_to_kitchen/tools/edify_defs named GT-P7320T that i have created

# The values below should be set in each file in this folder.

# Each file represents a device name (set in ro.product.device of
[Code]......
as you can see, i have copied and pasted the contets of my recovery.fstab and commented it out as a reference. this should be quite straight foward, but the mount points for data and sdcard hve additional parameters, which i dont know what to do with.
the parameters are currently commented out and i cannot get it to flash i've tried lots of different combinations but to no avail.
During flashing attempts it is giving me error 7, which to me seems to indicate a problem with setting the mount points.
dsixda's kitchen is really awesome. i have set it up properly but i just can't see the option to port a Rom, I am using the latest version.

One thought, do i have to use the USB to micro USB that comes with the phone or can I just use a standard micro USB to USB that I always use (the one that came with my digital camera)

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently performed the following, with the idea of upgrading from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0:
Downloaded the latest Fresh Kitchen
Downloaded the lastest Sprint RUU
Downloaded the latest Fresh 2.0 ROM
Installed the Sprint RUU as per instructions
My problem is now that when I try to root again so I can install Fresh2.0, the Kitchen, (and the pre-Kitchen), will not recognize the sdcard.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have already remove some Sprint applications using Fresh Kitchen. However in my settings/applications/manage applications page, I still see a few apps that I cannot remove like SprintTV Widget and Flickr.I also loaded Root Explorer and wanted to try and remove some app/files that are cluttering my Hero. Any suggestions what I can remove, some stuff in the manage application page?also looking for the folder that has the stock Sprint ringtones, I don't use them and want to remove also.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI passed all the root tests in Fresh Kitchen and am ready to root. It is not clear to me if I need to wipe (I have stock ROM, don't think I need to wipe from what I read but want to be sure).Don't know if I need to have SD card mounted before starting rooting process. This is unclear in everything I read.Don't know when and how the backup process is done, after the Root or before? The backup process is unclear also.Don't know what RA is? I see it referred to but can't figure it out.I watched the videos on Fresh Kitchen 1.0.5.3 and am still unclear on the questions above. Are there written instruction on how to use Fresh Kitchen 1.0.5.3 to Root?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI did some changes in my phone's ROM via Dsixda's kitchen.
I want to include the CWM recovery in the ROM.
I have the .img file for the CWMR.
How do I add the recovery in the ROM, so I dont have to install it separately everytime?
Also what are the changes that have to be made in the 'updater script'?
I have Samsung Galaxy Young Duos S6312. Stock, rooted, deodexed ROM. 4.1.2 JB

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm considering selling my 5/6month old Desire to fund the purchase of a sim free HD.
Hopefully I'd only end up spending around 150-200 for it.
Is the jump up worth it? I'm a sucker for upgrade and I have to say the HD looks nicer than the Desire, but obviously it's what inside that count. Apparently.
One big thing is the whole htcsense.com thing, and with confirmation of the Desire getting support for that still quite unclear and apparently unlikely, I'm leaning towards getting the HD...
I've been having reception issues with Orange and they are sending me a new handset to see if that is the problem. If I drag all the data from the old SD card to my computer and then back over to the new SD card, will that keep all the setting form the HTC backup settings? Or do I have to point it in the right direction.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSadly I didn't realise how bad Virgin are in my area, so I'll be cancelling my contract with them and moving back to o2...
Unfortunately this means I'll have to return the handset and get a new one from o2...
Does anyone know if there's a way of moving my apps or being able to download them again on the new handset?
I just got an HTC Desire that was locked to Telus (Canadian Carrier). I have read that numerous people are using it on Rogers network. From the day I got it when I put my rogers sim card in (the right way) it said "No SIM card in phone" so I could not enter an unlock code. Thinking the SIM was defective went to Telus and tried one of their sim cards and it worked fine, then I went to Rogers thinking it was a problematic card. We tried 4 cards and none of them worked. I then went to Bell (another canadian carrier) and tried their sim card. It worked as well but said that the phone was locked. I purchased an unlock code from the internet which worked. Now the Bell sim card works as well becuase the phone is unlocked. I put my Rogers SIM back into it and it still sais "No SIM card in phone". I also tried a SIM from a european company and it did not work as well. This HTC Desire works on the same 3G 850/1900 GSM that Rogers uses.
