Nexus :: Rotate 1 Way / Landscape Works / Rotate Other Way / It Doesn't
Jul 1, 2010I just bought the Nexus One unlocked for AT&T and really like it. 1 wierd thing is that when I rotate the phone counter clockwise, the screen goes to landscape just fine; but when I rotate it clockwise it does not go to landscape "the other way". And, if I'm holding the phone 'normally' and rotate it 180 degrees ('upside down') it doesn't follow.My youngest daughter delights in telling me that her iPhone does this with no problem. What's up with that?

Sep 1, 2010Just got my lovely new phone today but I can't get all the screens to rotate.The box that says 'Auto-rotate screen' is checked but, on some screens, nothing's happening.What am I doing wrong? Or does it only do it on certain screens?

Aug 29, 2010auto-rotate seems to have changed, it now defaults to the last orientation an application had since last used. so opening it again would disregard the current orientation. for example, if an app was last used on landscape and you hold the phone the normal way (not landscape), when I open the app, it would be on landscape orientation and I would need to shake it just to have it corrected. this is not good specially on browsing the internet, or the facebook app, or the gallery. not sure what other apps are affected. any way to turn this back the way 2.1 auto-rotate works?

Jul 7, 2010My Desire; which i have had problem free for 3 months; has just developed a problem with the screen rotation. Initially it wouldn't rotate so i checked that it was set to automatically rotate in the screen and display menu which it was .
I then tried to recalibrate the screen which kind of worked in that it now allows the screen to rotate to landscape if held sideways, but when i put it the right way up, the screen stays landscape.
I have Swype which i thought might be interfering so i removed the program and rebooted but still nothing.

Nov 26, 2010I use a car stand to hold my phone and would like to have the Sense displays rotated.When the keyboard is open, the Sense screens rotate horizontally.I've looked at the settings and whiles apps rotate when Horizontal with the keyboard is closed, Sense won't rotate unless the keyboard is open.Is there any way to get the Sense displays to rotate with the keyboard closed?

Sep 29, 2010I have not been to impressed with the signal strength since having my desire on 3 about a month ago. I contacted 3 by email and someone from the support team rang me last last night.
Not to sound rude but I could hardly understand her, but after discussing my concerns, she asked me what software version I was on. I told her 2.10.405.2 and she said it needed updating to 1.77 something or other, I forget now. Now anyone knows that 1 is before 2? and 2.10.405.2 is the latest update. Mine is unbranded from CPW so I guess has more up to date software than there branded ones. I had to cut the call short for something but she is ringing back tonight.

Sep 20, 2010Does anyone know if Android 2.1 (on an HTC Desire) is capable of WPA2 Enterprise? I called HTC and they told me there was no support - that it wasn't a limitation of the phone, but that Google doesn't offer support for it yet - which seems to me rather ridiculous (My school will only let me use their network on a WPA2 Enterprise network). Does anyone know of any work around? Also, when is Google set to release a firmware update providing native support for WPA Enterprise?

Sep 28, 2010I can't get my Nokia BH-214 Bluetooth Stereo headset to work with my HTC Desire.I have previously had it working fine with the stock HTC sense & the LeeDroid ROM. I have recently loaded the DeFRost 4.6 ROM.I can get it to pair OK and it appears in the 'Bluetooth Devices' list as 'Paired but not connected', when I try to connect I get a 'Cannot establish communication with Nokia BH-214' error.I am guessing this ROM does not support the A2DP standard. Is there a workaround?

Feb 15, 2010I am extending the normal android.widget.ProgressBar.This rotates it fine, however I am having alot of sizing issues. It seems as though I have to set the width and the height of the control to be the same thing or else I run into alot of clipping issues. Basically, I want to have a progress bar that, once rotated, is 50dip wide and fills the screen vertically. Can anyone think of a way to do this? Also, it doesn't seem to be actually drawing the progress properly, but I will revisit that once I get the clipping sorted out.
