View 8 Replies View RelatedLook, one of the first things I have made with my new HTC Tattoo has been formatting the SD card. As soon as I realized what I had done, I turned off the phone, extracted the card, and using testdisk, I recovered its contents. They were:
Some example background images.
Some example music, with cover images
A pdf file, the instruction manual of the machine.
An executable, the sync program.
A large lot of .txt and .f files. Some of them contain image orientation data. The rest contain code. For example:
My Desire has suddenly stopped recognizing my 4GB SD Card today. Just says it's blank and needs formatting! When I try to access the card via my PC it just wants to format it but when I bring up the format window the PC only sees 30MB and a format of FAT. The Properties show it formatted as RAW. The Error Notification I get is: Blank SD Card - SD Card blank or has unsupported file system. Is my card fried or is there a way out of this?
View 35 Replies View RelatedI recently went about updating my tablet, and in the back of my mind I was under the impression that TWRP would backup the internal sdcard's files during the normal backup, so I thought nothing of wiping the internal sdcard. Whoops. It, of course, didn't, and now I find myself with a whole slew of stuff gone. Not much else was written to the internal sdcard (which is on an ext4 filesystem), so I suspect that a good bit of my stuff can still be sitting there in the data graveyard.
Since I'm on Linux and can't mount the sdcard directly (since for some odd reason Linux has issues with MTP), all I've been able to do was this:
I booted the tablet into recovery mode and opened up adb, and ran the following command through the adb shell:
Code:
~ # dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/dev/block/mmcblk1p1
Where mmcblk0p8 is the internal sdcard with the lost data, and mmcblk1p1 is an external sdcard. I thought that by running that command, I could create a carbon copy of each and every little thing on the old sdcard, write it onto something my computer could read, and then go through the normal recovery process. In this case I planned to use a Linux tool called "extundelete."
Here's where I get stuck. The sdcard appeared to have cloned correctly, given that the entire thing is now filled up and reads as an ext4 filesystem on gparted (when it was previously fat32), but now I can't mount it. And if I can't mount it, I can't restore anything. Here's what I get when I try to mount it:
Code:
Error mounting /dev/sdb at /media/user/57f8f4bc-abf4-655f-bf67-946fc0f9f25b: Command-line `mount -t "ext4" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid" "/dev/sdb" "/media/user/57f8f4bc-abf4-655f-bf67-946fc0f9f25b"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so
So to sum it up, I accidentally wiped my tablet's internal sdcard using TWRP 2.3.3.0, and now I want to recover what was lost during the wipe. Not that it matters, my tablet is a Transformer Infinity.
I have a SAMSUNG Galaxy SII, and a Sandisc 16 GB HD micro SD card, 3 days ago I noticed a notification that says:"SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem"
I tried several times to take it off and put it back but with no luck, I put the card in the card reader & connected it to my laptop, the laptop (windows 7) did't recognized it either, and it suggested to do FORMAT to the card, So I did, and choose to format to FAT32 system..I was sure that recovery programs will recover my photos and videos...
I tried 4 programs to recover them, no single photo was recovered, it just looks like a brand new Sd card now...the card now is working normally now...
I formatted the internal SD card through CWM and now the card cannot be recognized by Win7 and it's stated as a linux file-CD Gadget USB Device, and the drives are greyed out. How do I revert the SD Card back to FAT32 format?
I'm also unable to mount it as USB storage in CWM recovery giving an error of cannot write to lumfile (no such file and directory). However, I'm able to still format the sdcard in cwm but it does not solve the problem.
Do I have to format my SD card before I use it in my incredible? I just want to add music to the card then be able to make ringtones. I also want all my photos to go to the card.

I am in the reboot/recovery screen of my android with ClockworkMod and I noticed when I turned on USB Mass Storage, the SD Card is readable but there is nothing on it now. Is there any important files I am going to need to put on the SD Card for my android to function correctly on start up/running? Or will my android automatically put the correct files on the SD Card on boot? Haven't tried booting it .

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust as I said in topic - I runned out of memory on my SGSII on internal and sdcard and moved some pictures to /data/myfolder by using Root Explorer, then I've accidentaly deleted it. Is there any way to get the data back?
1) I cant mount /data so it can't be visible on My Computer
2) I couildnt find any app on Market which could recover deleted files from /data partition
EDIT:
Maybe there is a way to make a FULL IMAGE of data partition so I could scan it from my PC with some software for lost files? somehow?
What can I do if 16gb micro sdhc class 10 cannot be formatted?
I just recently bought this, then during pasting data on it, i think it got disconnected.
so now it won't work and can't be formatted. I can return it to the seller but I'm outside of US so I'm leaving this as my last option.
My HTC Desire VC (T328d) was rooted and running Android OS 4.0.3 (ics).
In recovery mode, I accidentally formatted /system folder (from internal phone memory). This is because the recovery mode is all in chinese language and I did a huge mistake. The phone cannot boot showing HTC logo screen and no boot sound.
I've downloaded the kernel for this device at htcdev.com.I can enter recovery mode. My friend has the same device and his is not rooted yet.
I am still having trouble getting a few things to work correctly however. I need to ask if anyone has the files that come on the stock SD card. I did not use it and put a larger one in. The original I formatted for my girlfriends phone. However I have since learned that there is a file structure on the SD card that is needed for certain tasks. So is there anywhere I can download these files?

I'm able to get into the recovery mode but I have no Roms or anything to upload. I had a SD card damaged and reformatted it and lost everything. I do have a back up SD files on my computer but I just don't know how to load it, since my laptop is not reading the USB connection.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have tried on 3 occasions today to update to froyo with no success. Thing is when my Desire goes to save data on my SD card I get this message; "an error occurred while saving your data to your SD card, the backup cannot be completed."
Can anyone advise me as to what to do as I can't proceed any further. By the way my Desire is sim free if this in anyway helps.
It appears as unformatted BUT, I know that the data is still there because the CWM manages to browse files if I get into the menu "install zip from /sdcard1", but it can't see anything if I try a "restore from sdcard1"...
So I have an ubuntu build and I'd like to try to repair the "masterboot" .
I never did this before so I don't really know what I need, SDCard is 32 GB class 10.
When I plug my phone from CWM and enable the mount the SDcard on usb I got this error message :
Error mounting: mount: /dev/sdb1: can't read superblock
Here is the result of the "fdisk -l" command :

Which actually looks weird, I thought that my sdcard were ext4 formated, well but I am not 100% sure about that...
Here the result of the command "fsck -y /dev/sdb1"
Code:

This usually happens after some wifi activities, but i've noticed that whenever my wifi fails to connect or sometimes even when i disconnect from a wifi server, i lose my data connection (im operating on edge with rogers).
This can usually be solved if i restart my phone but obviously thats not ideal. anyone else have this problem? is it a known issue?
wiping my contacts and SMS. How do I go about recovering deleted files from internal storage (NAND)? And which files do I need if I only want to recover my contacts and sms?

I have the following issue:
My old phone is a rooted htc vision (android 2.3). I want to transfer app data (savegames, settings, whatsapp verification, etc...) to my new phone which is an unrooted nexus 5.
I have titanium backups of my 2.3 apps but i can't use them on my nexus 5 as it is not rooted.
Is there a way to use the titanium backup files with helium (which works without root)?!
Or do i have any other opportunity to get the existing app data from the old phone to the new one without rooting the nexus?
