View 5 RepliesI think the standard battery is 1100mAh (1.1 amps at 3.7V for one hour), which is generally good enough for me, but there have been a few times on travel when an extended battery would have been useful. USB provides 5 (FIVE) volts to the unit, which is regulated down to charge the internal 3.7V single lithium cell. It should be trivial to build a battery pack to recharge any product that is so powered. But you cannot use external lithium because that would also be 3.7V.
I'm thinking of NiMH (nickel metal hydride), each cell of which provides 1.2VDC. Four cells in series would be 4.8V, and there are now 3000mAh (three amp!) AA cells out there, so NiMH AA cells should more than triple battery life for the Eris. Of course, you could use five such cells to get 6.0VDC, then regulate down to 5, but that would add complexity. I didn't find any posts on building such a thing, and wonder if anyone's done it.
I know I sound stupid but Im new to all this and have no manual, could someone please help out an old fool and point in me in the right direction on how to tune my desire phone on, my friend Albert thinks i have to hold down the house button on the front.. is that the correct procedure?

Just download the .zip file, unpack it and apply whichever Icon you like best. If you don't know how to do that, I've included an instruction manual in .PDF format as well.

Is there any such equivalent for the Desire?

I want to be able to lock the screen, put the phone in my pocket and just listen to the vocal instructions. At the moment iGO gets suspended after ~ 1 hour. When I unlock the phone and click the iGO icon in the notifications page, it restarts.
I tried some settings in [power] section of the sys.ini but with no luck. I also tried an app to keep the GPS module alive, nog (although I think iGO should have complained about 'gps sigmal lost').
Now I'm using ICS 4.0.4. Flashed by walton customer service.but i can't flash cwm. pc is not getting my device. i think it's driver problem. i tried many ways, but no progress. windows 7 64 bit.

Since I will be having a case on the unit, I dont want to be having to open the back cover all the time to replace the battery whenever its dead. maybe a good external battery backup might do the job.
View 15 Replies View RelatedBig selling feature for the Moment over the iPhone is swapable batteries. I'd like to keep the phone with me at all times, and just swap in batteries. But I can not find an EXTERNAL battery charger. Google search only turned up a "universal" charger where the contacts are manipulated to match up with the battery. Not a good option. Anyone have a source for an external battery charger which I can use to charge spare batteries without using the phone?

He had to bring the first one back due to his external speaker sounded blown, and now the replacement one he got is doing the same thing. We were wondering if this is a popular problem and if the next replacement he gets Saturday is going to do the same thing all over again. He never uses the external speaker only for the message alerts. We are both stumped onto why the same thing would happen to both phones. I have the same phone and mine hasnt done it I do have mine on vibrate a lot more then his.

I've been using nehe's opengl tutorials as well as insanitydesign's android ports.I successfully managed to create a cube with a single texture mapped to all its 6 faces. I even mapped multiple textures to different faces of the cube. But the way I did it was to create 6 faces seperately, have 6 seperate index and texture buffers and then using glBindTexture() with the selected texture for each face and then calling glDrawElements. Isn't there an efficient way around this. Should i use a cube map texture instead of a GL_TEXTURE_2D?
