Following the quick start guide on how to save a new contact, I saved a new contact to the Phone memory. However, after clicking on "Save", the contact does not appear in the contact listing. I have already selected "Phone" and "Sim" options in the View menu. Even the search function cannot locate the new contact. I have also tried restarting the phone...

Firstly do I want to save them to my sim or my phone, I would normally guess Sim card but cant they be saved to the SD card ? This would seem to be the best option ? When entering a new contact there is the option to save them to the gmail account that I set up so I could use the android market ? I don?t use gmail as I already have my own domain email accounts that I have had for years and I host through hotmail. As I have the account I am happy to use it as a dumping ground if there is the option of syncing all of my contacts to it ?
Then when I connect to HTC sense it wants to sync my contacts ..... Where is it trying to syc them to? Outlook ? I don?t use outlook but again if it will keep my contacts safe then I can use it for safety. Looking at my contacts there is the option to export to SD card, is this exporting from the sim ? Or from the phone?
I cannot manage to add and save new contacts on my phone. When I add a new contact and fill in all the info, I hit "save", a message says "contact saved". Right after this the new contact shows in the list of all contacts, but if I go out of the list, go to home or do something else with the phone then go back to the contacts' list, the new contact has gone. I tried several times, and the new contact always disappears even though it was previously saved.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my (generic) Desire for a few weeks now, and have a really nagging/annoying problem in that, where i've added contacts (on the phone memory) and then synced with facebook, it's pulling in their mobile phone number from facebook, but is defaulting to 447584... and will not let me call the contact without first editing the number to read 07584...
The only way around this so far as i can tell, is to manually add the number again as a 'Home' number but with a 0 in place of 44, as re-adding as a mobile just defaults back to the 447584... and then assigning the 'Home' number as the primary contact number. Does anyone have any ideas whether this is a bug or something i've done myself, and also whether there is a way i can update my whole phonebook to change the 44's for 0's rather than manually going through and changing them?
Forgive my ignorance, but its there a way to save my contacts to the SD card instead of the phone's internal memory? Is there a way to choose to save "stuff" to the card instead of the memory?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThere are a couple of options within the browser I didn't find until after searching for it, so I thought I would share it with the rest of the community in order to help out.
-Everyone should clear the browser cache and previous history in order to save internal phone memory. To do this go to BROWSER press the MENU button and press MORE. There should be a list of things in there but what you should be interested in is the last item which is SETTINGS. From there in privacy settings there will be options to clear both cache and history.
- Another little tip I wanted to share was viewing webpages in landscape mode without opening your keyboard. To do this simply press the MENU button from within the BROWSER and go down to FLIP ORIENTATION. You should realize tho by doing this you browser will continue to be in landscape the next time it's used. In order to return it to it's normal portrait mode just follow these steps once again.
-There are a number of other things you can mess around with or find with the MENU button within the browser so just take a look at it yourself even if you don't want to do any of these tips.

When I tried to update a contact or add an entirely new one I was recieving an error that stated " Unfortunately Contacts has stopped working". I then tried to install a new contact via Google on my pc. Saved there no problem but would not sync the contact to the cell. I was able to search this and found the fix on the internet. I have Enhanced Mobile Care thru AT&T and they were unable to assist me in this issue but are aware of it after the software upgrade to 4.3.

currently I still have got Sony Xperia X8. I know it's a little bit old but still I want to keep it for few months. Now I'm thinking about rooting it and upgrading it to Android 2.2 or 2.3. All the stuff is stored in the phone's memory. I'd like to synchronize my contacts and calendar events to Google - tried few tricks but still without any result.
It looks like it's not possible to sync contacts which weren't stored as Google Contacts. I need to do the same with my calendar events.
I would really like to keep my data stored in the phone's memory as well as on Google. So I'm looking for sync option. If this is not possible then I'll need to get used to store everything just on Google but first I need to import my data there as well.
