I mean, with 2.2 - I moved all my apps to SD, and if I turn it off, would they just ... die somehow? Or it's enough to just copy all content from old SD to my PC and then back to new one? No tricks?

Rooting or forcing apps to SD card is looking more and more likely. Especially when T-Mobile are yet to release the correct 2.2 update.

May 29, 2014A friend of mine wanted to buy the HTC Desire 310 and so I did a little research. On amazon I read from several people that it is impossible to move apps to the SD card. Is this true? If yes, the option to put in an SD card up to 64GB wouldn't make much sense (only for media), would it?

May 14, 2010I restored my apps but any new apps I download are saved on phone memory not SD. I have downloaded root explorer, but I don't know how to move apps or set default to save to card. Apr 25, 2012I have an Orange UK branded HTC Desire HD running stock firmware & NOT rooted. Since the fairly recent 2.3.5 update with Sense 3.0 I have found that I am regularly seeing Sense restart upon exiting an app and returning to the home screen. This is not related to a particular app, as it can happen when returning to home from ANY app. My wife is seeing the same behaviour on hers too.
Having posted on both HTC's & Orange's Facebook pages, I have been advised in no uncertain terms that as a first step I should perform a factory reset.
This is something that I have not done since I got my DHD (my 1st Android - plenty of hard resets on WM ). I have had a bit of a tidy up - clearing unnecessary data, uninstalling apps I don't use, etc. Pretty much ready to reset (but aware that there is SOME data that I will lose). However, there is one thing that I am unsure about...
I have previously moved a number of apps to the SD card. If I leave them there, will the existing data be recognised upon reinstalling the apps? Or will it cause me problems? Or will the existing data just be orphaned? I.e. should I move all apps back to the phone before performing the reset?

Also I tried swapping memories (internal to external and vice versa) , it worked but installing apps from external sources will not work, or apps in /storage/emulated/0/... Will not be able to installed , but if they are on /storage/sdcard1 they will be able to be installed.. That still a problem ..

Sep 14, 2011I've moved some apps to the sd card to free up memory on the Droid 1.
I'm wondering what happens when I flash and install a new os. I'm sure that, like a Windows PC, the new ROM won't see those apps on the sd card. No problem reinstalling.
Is there a way to find those orphan apps on the sd card and delete them so as not to clog up the sd card?
