HTC Desire :: Reject Calls With Power Button - Can This Be Disabled?
Apr 28, 2010When the phone rings, 8/10 times I grab it and touch the power button, and it rejects the call. I there a way to disable this reject button?

HTC Incredible :: Possible To End Calls With Power Button?
Jun 15, 2010Is it at all possible to end phone calls by pressing the power button on the top of the phone? I got used to this on my girlfriend's iPhone and like it a lot better than ending the call by pressing the screen. Is there an app for this? Or a setting?

I know it's possible to end a phone call on the Desire by pressing the power button after enabling it in settings. But when I go to Settings/Accessibility I get a pop-up message saying, 'No accessibility related application found. You can download a screen reader for your device from Android Market. Click OK to install the screen reader.'If I press 'Cancel' I'm in the accessibility settings with a single grayed-out 'Accessibility' option. But no other options are available.

HTC Desire :: Power Button Does Not Work
Sep 25, 2010I could not charge the handset and it automatically powered down last night. Thereafter I restarted it again without charging it and as expected it powered down after a few minutes.This morning I plugged in the handset for charging and then pressed the power button to put the handset in to 'sleep', to my surprise it did not work. I ignored it and left it for charging and when I checked back the handset had automatically gone to 'sleep'. I tried to wake it up by pressing the power button, but it did not work.The only way I can wake up the handset is either by calling it or plugging in the charger. I tried all of the following but none of them worked.
1. Removed the battery and left the handset for a few minutes and restarted it.
2. Removed the SD card and restarted it.
3. Removed the SIM card and restarted it.
4. Removed both the SD and SIM cards and restarted it.

Jul 20, 2010Hi can anyone help I have only had my htc desire a few weeks and now the power button does not seem to be working the phone goes on to standby when not in use but when i press the power button it's not coming back on unless i ring the phone. it's also not turning off when i press it, any ideas?

Aug 1, 2010Anybody have any probs with the power button? Got caught in a torrential downpour this afternoon to find my wallet and phone somewhat damp after being in my soaking jeans.Power button no longer works so effectively once the screen saver kicks in I cant unlock it. Thankfully its still within warranty so will take it back to get a replacement.This is the 2nd phone I've had that has suffered this prob. My previous phone, a dreadful Sony Ericsson died a death.Avoiding the rain is somewhat unavoidable when you live in Scotland. MakingTaking a phonecall in the rain is sometimes a necessary evil. I really have to question the build quality of some of the modern phones. Do they even test the use of phones in the rain? It seems somewhat of a basic function, and to have such a major malfunction with such minimal exposure to rain is quite disappointing to say the least, especially when it never came into direct contact.

Nov 6, 2010One big problem I've noticed is that when you need to have your phone switched off (e.g. on an aircraft, etc.) it's all too easy for the phone to switch itself on whilst in your pocket - the "power on" button just needs the slightest tap and then it springs into life.I know whilst on a plane I could pre-set it to in-flight mode before powering it off, but that's not the point. Like when powering the phone off, there is a delay and a set of menu options. I'd like something similar for powering the phone on - programmable delay and/or combination of pressing say home and the "power on" button.Does anyone know of an app or some code I could run to alter the way the phone behaves ?. Not sure if the only way to add this functionality is part of a flash update as it needs to survive a power off, etc.

I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.
My question is that is there a way to designate the camera button to become the power button? I know on some phones you can make different buttons do different things and I was curious if this was possible on the Droid.

Sep 6, 2013My problem with my s3 is the home button, when i'm on a app ( doesn't matter wich one) and i press the home button, it takes like 4-5 seconds before i see the home screen, and then it has to redraw itself. I already searched here but all i coild find was the animation set to 0, 5 and disable-ing tje s voice command.(what i already did)
I tried removing every home screen and put 1 app in it. Didn't work.I didnt try factory reset , because i dont want to lose all my data.. ( even tough i could backup it somewhere)

Android :: Main Activity Grayed-out / Disabled On Back Button - Cause This Problem?
Jun 25, 2010I have a problem on going back (clicking the Back button) from sub-activity to main activity: from my main activity I launch a new one (with passing some extras). code...
In the started activity I am getting data from extras and showing, etc. So everything works very well until I click Back button to return back to main activity. Then main activity appears but directly after - grays-out. I can't do anything there anymore... This "grayed-out" style looks something like there should be a dialog displayed, but there is no dialog shown, just the whole activity is pushed down/disabled instead...
One another interesting thing I noticed - that activity is still alive in background, because if I click "Search" button the Quick Search Box appears on top of my activity and if I click Back button then (to cancel it) - it disappears and my activity then becomes fully functional again (gray-out effect simply disappears...)
Tried watching logcat, but it shows nothing useful, no exceptions thrown, just this text always comes up:

What could cause this problem?
Android :: Thin White Line Runs Through The - Button - In Disabled State

Android :: Disabled Google Talk Startup / Disabled Stock Messaging App
Jan 20, 2010Just wanted to relay my issues that occurred with Startup Auditor. I use a Moto Droid 2.0.1.
First issue: I disabled Google Talk Startup as non of my friends have an Android device. This caused an issue with the Market. none of my apps would download the updates and I could not Download new apps. The Market is somehow connected to Google Talk. After enabling Talk and logging back in my apps started downloading.
Second issue: I disabled the stock messaging app because I am using Handcent SMS. This caused my text messages to delete themselves. When I opened my messaging treads all that was shown was my side of the conversation. After re enabling the stock Messaging app my messages started downloading and showing up in the treads. Handcent must use some of the same things that the stock app uses and Startup Editor was killing.
Motorola Droid X :: Phone Calls Use Too Much Power?
Jul 25, 2010Of all of the power being used, it seems to me that the phone calls drain far more battery life than anything else.if I have a10 minute call it will drain about 10% of the battery.today I had a total of 53 minutes of calls and it used more than 50% of my battery.does that seem right? I thought that Motorola rated this phone at 8 hours of talk time.
