I've copied my existing contacts from my sim (same sim as last phone, this was an upgrade). How do I tell the Desire to either a) Only use the phone contacts or b) Hide the sim contacts? I currently have two entries for each contact when I tap the phone button.

I am currently making an application that's to work as auto-theft.The user whose mobile is stolen sends an sms to his phone and it's intercepted by the application installed in the phone.According to the format and instructions the phone performs the task.I am making a module to hide the contacts on a particular instruction.How do I go about it.I have worked on inserting and updating contacts but how do I hide them, such that they are not visible in the native contacts app.They should become visible when the user sends another instruction.that means they are not to be deleted.and I had another query related to this.how do we delete a contact?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk, I've searched the forums a bit and found a couple other folks with the same problem as I have. I picked up my droid yesterday and synced it to my gmail, and facebook. Pulled every single contact from both, sweet! Except there were some I didn't care to have in my phonebook..shoot. So I was going through and "Deleting" the ones I didn't want, and as they were facebook contacts it just hid them from me. I know they are still there, as I exported my vCard to gmail and looked through the contacts. I see the ones I want (and don't want) in there so they exsist..but I can't find where to set them to show in my contacts list again. I tried just re-adding them to my contacts, but that didn't really work either..anything short of factory resetting my phone that I can do to fix my flubup?

I have a TON of emails I've collected over the past several years on my gmail and a handful of contacts I ported over from my Touch Pro. Now I want to hide the google contacts so that I only see my 'phone' contacts in the people or other contact apps. Whats the best way to go about this? In quick summary, I do not want to see my google contacts on my phone list. I only want to see phone contacts.

I can see all the apps that I have installed, all pics, all music files even all SMS's but I don't have any contacts in my phone any more.
Are they gone for good or are they hiding somewhere on the phone?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo Ive been messing with my contacts and exported them to Gmail where I edited them.I now want those contacts back on my phone as google contacts but don't know how to do it.In the people setting I currently have all my contacts saved as 'phone' but there are some errors. The ones Ive edited on Gmail have all the errors fixed.I have no contacts as 'google' in the people setting.Ive tried syncing with google (with contacts selected) but nothing came through. Could this be because I still had the contacts open in Gmail on my laptop ?I also tried selecting export from Gmail which created a CSV (or similar !) file, however this file was only a few bytes in size and when I saved it on the SD card and tried to import in people there was nothing on it ?So all I want to do is get the correct contacts from Gmail onto the people app on the Desire under 'google' contacts.I feel its something simple that im not doing right.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy phone keeps saying "low disc space"..I dont have too many apps installed on here..but it says I only have 35 mbs of free space on my internal memory...my sd card has a bunch of space.
But ive tried installing a couple of apps in the past that the htc couldnt handle (need for speed shift) and a couple of larger racing games. But the apps arent in my app lists..I just didnt know if maybe they were hiding in a different part of my phone and maybe thats whats eating up all of the space on my phone.
I will probably get a desire tomorrow. Currently I have my contacts saved to windows address book. Is there a way to import these contacts onto the desire?

I tried to register a broadcast receiver on the intent SMS_RECEIVED, but the default SMS application is still notifying the SMS in the notification bar. The only way to achieve what is manually disabling the message notification from the default SMS application's menu.
I found that the "SMS Guard" application, available on the market, is able to filter messages out without any notification, without touching any default configuration (I wrote to the developer, no answer yet).
Is there any way of hiding specific app developers that you don't link on the market?
E.g. if one developer has made thousands of sound board apps or themes for an app that I won't be using - I could hide that developer and wouldn't see his/her apps on the market?
If this is possible, I think it would make the market much less annoying when you have to scroll through hundreds of sound boards and app themes.
