Samsung I7500 :: No Contacts After Upgrade / They Hiding Somewhere On Phone?

Jul 4, 2010

I just upgraded my Galaxy's firmware.
I can see all the apps that I have installed, all pics, all music files even all SMS's but I don't have any contacts in my phone any more.

Are they gone for good or are they hiding somewhere on the phone?

I didn't have them synced with my gmail account.

Samsung I7500 :: Software Upgrade Not Supported

Nov 7, 2009

I've got the Galaxy phone thru my operator in Serbia, Telenor (Telenor: Products and services / eShop / Phones / Mobile phones)

I tried to use the New PC Studio in order transfer my contacts to this new phone, but realized that it's an impossible task to do... a huge disappointment.

Anyways, after countless hours of trying to put my PC and Samsung Galaxy to work together, I finally succeeded in installing the latest version of PC Studio as instructed on this website, in order to be able to upgrade the firmware (my battery currently runs out quickly, the phone restarts or turns off with full battery once in a while, etc.)

However, although PC Studio now recognizes my phone, when I try to do the update, I get the following error message:

This device is not supported. The device you have selected does not support software upgrade.

Samsung I7500 :: Network Error After Failed Firmware Upgrade

Oct 13, 2010

I just recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy GT-17500L (its a Bell Canada phone). After purchasing the phone (which was originally unlocked) I bought a Solo mobile sim-card, which was needed in order to use the phone on my Solo monthly plan. Everything was working fine until I decided to try and update the firmware from 1.5 to 1.6; unfortunately, like a few others from Canada, I didn't properly read the guide and after the upgrade, the phone was "re-locked" and wasn't accepting my sim-card. After going through the guide posted on Pg.4 here (Bell Canada users and Brazilian Users - Galaxy 7500L (notice the L)), with the help of Rasta-Man FB posts and others, I was able to get my phone back to the original firmware, but now I'm having reception issues. The phone will at times pick up the Solo Netowork (I'm still using the original solo sim card), but then drop it after 10 minutes and just say there is no service. When I search for networks, it recognizes the Solo one (I'm guessing b/c of the S.C) but it isn't able to connect.

Samsung I7500 :: How Do Contacts Copy To Sim?

Apr 25, 2010

Because I have to send my Samsung Galaxy I7500 back to Samsung (the audio plug is broken and does not detect disconnecting the headphone) I try to get my contacts back to my Sim-card. This is so I can use my good old Nokia 6200 again. Now since there are no options in the standard software, I downloaded this app. Contacts 2 Sim. It has a function for copying contacts and this SEEMS to work (it gives me a message saying it copied 192 contacts). BUT... When I put my Sim-card over to the other phone nothing has changed. Also when I, switch my Samsung off and on again (after copying to SIM) the contacts are already gone from the Sim again. Is my SIM locked or something? It is a bit annoying so if someone could help me out it would be great.

Motorola Droid :: Need For UN - Hiding Contacts?

Nov 12, 2009

Ok, I've searched the forums a bit and found a couple other folks with the same problem as I have. I picked up my droid yesterday and synced it to my gmail, and facebook. Pulled every single contact from both, sweet! Except there were some I didn't care to have in my phonebook..shoot. So I was going through and "Deleting" the ones I didn't want, and as they were facebook contacts it just hid them from me. I know they are still there, as I exported my vCard to gmail and looked through the contacts. I see the ones I want (and don't want) in there so they exsist..but I can't find where to set them to show in my contacts list again. I tried just re-adding them to my contacts, but that didn't really work either..anything short of factory resetting my phone that I can do to fix my flubup?

Android :: Trying To Hiding Google Contacts

Jan 3, 2010

I've done a bit of searching on this topic and the only reference I can find is to the older version of the firmware that allows you to 'hide' googles contacts. I have a TON of emails I've collected over the past several years on my gmail and a handful of contacts I ported over from my Touch Pro. Now I want to hide the google contacts so that I only see my 'phone' contacts in the people or other contact apps. Whats the best way to go about this? In quick summary, I do not want to see my google contacts on my phone list. I only want to see phone contacts.

I can't seem to sync some contacts that i've added on my galaxy to google contacts. i count at least 3 off the top of my head that i've added some time ago - one with only a name + number, one with those + pic, one with those + email. i just logged in to gmail on a computer and was about to send a mail to the last one mentioned, but couldn't find the contact. i tried to sync manually from the phone (by disabling/enabling contacts auto sync), and it did sync and changed the timestamp for "last synced", but none of those contacts appeared in my google contacts.

Samsung I7500 :: Samsung I7500 - Low Middle Or High-end Android Smartphone

Jan 23, 2010

The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?

I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.

Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.

Samsung Fascinate : How I Can Upgrade Phone?

Sep 29, 2010

My dad's phone was due for upgrade this past Monday. He has a flip phone, and wouldn't be able to handle a smart phone. The phone he has has big buttons and a screen that displays big numbers and that kind of thing. He needs to stay with it. I was trying however to figure out if I could upgrade him to a Fascinate, but put my number on it, and give him back his flip. I have an Eris, and my contract with it is due for upgrade 11-1-10. I don't think this would work because I'm still obligated to one more month of data plan on my Eris. I'm desperate to get rid of this thing though.
