I am an EVO and Jetstream owner. The Jetstream is my new sole web device. I'm looking for a way to easily sync the pictures between both devices to a cloud service. This would really eliminate the need to transfer pictures from one SD to the other.
I know Photobucket has this option, but I was hoping google Picasa offered it. Or Flickr?lready set up and functioning?
I just bought and Asus 300 tablet for house use. I mainly bought this for our 4 year old for learning apps and entertainment. I then realized that I have her music on a bunch of other devices so I figured that now would be a good time to get everything synced up with one another. I am mainly concerned about the music aspect of syncing and if an app(s)/method(s) included other things like pictures and videos I would not be opposed. The main devices I want to sync are as follows:
-2 galaxy s3
-2 older Android phones that will be used as media (music devices like an ipod) which are a Epic 4G and a Evo
-1 Asus Transformer 300
-2 computers running Vista and Windows 8
And maybe if it wasnt a problem an XP desktop, an XP laptop, and an Ipod nano.
how Apple is about sharing and I could just take most of my music to another system/use another method. I have looked into Amazons Cloud Player and have heard about some other Apps like Double Twist but I am still a little lost. I am basically looking for something that is more or less fully automated (or pretty close to it).
I have recently bought a HTC One X and find it difficult to keep my Moto xoom and One X in real time sync for Apps and App data.
I have been through many apps and none are quick, easy and not internet hogging junk.
Now its not like iCloud where you download an app on one device and gets automatically pushed to your other devices quick and easy.
I know I'm not the only one with two or more Android devices and I want know how you keep your devices in sync?
My boss has a new stock HTC Desire, he also performed an upgrade to the latest firmware.
Now it won't find anything when using "Search for devices" option.
It can be discovered by other devices if I set it to be discoverable, but it cannot detect any new devices, no phones no computers or bluetooth extension devices.
Has anyone experienced the same thing? Any ideas how to fix it? We would like to pair it with a Parrot Minikit Slim handsfree kit.
The Wi-Fi network at my workplace apparently blocks mobile devices somehow.I can connect to the network fine but cannot load any webpages or connect through any apps on my Desire. It works fine however on my laptop.Has anyone else encountered this and more importantly is there a way round it?

I'm rooted and running the latest FRESH (1.0.1) rom, so I wasn't sure if it is because of the rom or if it was meant to be this way. I've never had USB Debugging checked prior to rooting, so I wouldn't know. Doesn't really bother me, just curious.

When I went to it's location I rebooted it and thought hang on I can check it's working from here.So i fired up my terminal emulator app to ping it. However that's when I realised that linux doesn't appear to resolve windows networking hostnames. So my only option would have been to know the IP address.Is there any workarounds for this? My phone isn't rooted.I was wondering if there was some way to interegate a PC for it's hosts knowledge.. Even if that meant running a process on that computer which updated a list that could then be served to my phone.. but then that would only work if the phone has the abilty to then translate hostnames to ip addresses, especially since I don't have access to etc/hosts.So imagine you are outside and want to ping your computer but don't know it's ip address but you know the computer name. How would you do it?I realise now I could have opened up the router admin page to see attached devices but any other suggestions welcomed.

My primary e-mail address is a hotmail address. Is it possible to have this on the Desire? My understanding is that it's possible, but not for "push" e-mail? Eg. I'd have to check it manually in the mail app?
I do have a Google e-mail address for the Market etc
I just got the HTC Desire and I like it a lot - except for one thing: It is really awful at handling contacts. I have 250 friends on Facebook and 200 contacts in my gmail contacts and some on my SIM card as well. When I want to send an SMS I really only need access to those on my SIM card, but I get all the information from both gmail, SIM card and Facebook. Some people have 5 entries: One from SIM card, one cell number from Facebook, one home number from Facebook, one email from Facebook and one email from gmail. It is really cluttering up my list and makes it very confusing to send an SMS. Strange thing is: When I enter my "people" list I have set it up so it only shows people on my SIM card.
How can I make "Search People" only show the information from my SIM card? Of course I could just delete my Facebook account from "Accounts and Sync", but that still leaves the gmail information.
Just received my DHD and so far so good apart from syncing the calendars. My google calendars sync fine but when I do a PC sync only the contacts sync, I've checked the calendar settings and PC sync has a tick by it along with all my google calendars.

The first time it was fixed with a restart but now that is not working.Even when I go to the sync page in settings and press 'sync all', nothing happens. I used to get the 'sync' circle spinning in the info bar at the top of the screen but it isn't even doing that.Have searched, but can't seem to find any info on this exact problem. View 4 Replies View RelatedEverytime I plug my EVO into my PC I'm not getting the option list to either charge it, sync it, etc. It happens quite frequently. I have the Ask Me checked under the Connect PC Settings but for some reason it doesn't ask me all the time. The only thing that fixes it is a soft reset. It'll work for the day but the next day it won't work again. I've done a hard reset twice and still it does it. It's really weird.

I have set everything up to sync with my gmail account.
However, all my contacts are stored as phone so i know i either need to change them all to Google or export them and import into Gmail (a pain but there you go).
I have no contacts in gmail so i added one and it synced perfectly to my phone.
However, as a test, i added a new google contact to my phone and synced. It didn't show up in Gmail and I believe this can take some time, and this would be fine but it has disappeared from my phone!
It seems as if the sync has wiped out the contact from my phone because it doesn't appear on my gmail account. THis means it only syncs one way which is useless for me as the whole reason for me doing this is to get a backup of my contacts in case of emergencies!
I went into settings/accounts yesterday to stop weather from syncing, and noticed a red exclamation mark next to my 'myname@googlemail.com' account.
and below it says 'sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.'
when i click on the google account it shows 3 tick boxes, all ticked, contacts, gmail and calendar.
but the contacts again has a red exclamation mark by it, and a date for the last sync of 23.08.10 which is when I updated to 2.2 using the RUU (i think).
I can use the marketplace, gmails come in ok, my calendar works fine and all other features of the phone are great. But its not syncing contacts anymore?
presumably I cant delete this account and recreate it as its the one the phone asked for on 1st boot and setup?
I have a Macbook with iCal configured to match my Google calendar account. The two sync together with no problem. I tried setting up my HTC Desire to sync with my Google account which should give me three way sync but I get the following problem: I open Calendar on my phone, I try to add an event, a message appears saying: YOU HAVE NO CALENDARS. On the settings side, if I hit MENU then MORE and I choose CALENDARS I can't see my Google account. If I hit SETTINGS there is nothing to add my Google account. If I go to the ACCOUNTS & SYNC settings, I see my Google account, but when I hit my account, the data synchronization theme only shows SYNC CONTACTS and SYNC GMAIL, there is no SYNC GOOLGLE CALENDAR. I had Syncmate installed on my macbook and had it configured on my Desire, but it didn't sync the calendar either so I deleted it from my accounts. Could this be causing my problem or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I had no problems before but now my phone refuses to sync the account and I'm constantly getting an error telling me that 'syncing is unavailable at the moment'. I've removed the account and added it back on but have had no luck. When I try to re-enter the password I'm told it's wrong even though I know it isn't. I can't see what I'm doing wrong.

When I go to settings/Accounts & Sync on my Desire, and sync, it seems to sync from the Desire to my googlemail page on my PC, but not the other way round - which is a problem for me because all the correct contacts are on my PC. It also tends to duplicate or even triplicate most of contacts. On the PC there is the merge setting, but not on the Desire. I've tried deleting all my contacts on the Desire, but syncing doesn't repopulate it.
I have all my appointments on my Desire calendar, which seems to only sync from my PC to the Desire. As I enter my appointments on the Desire, and would like to have them on my PC, this, too, is a problem.
I got my HTC Desire recently and love the phone. Have got pretty much everything going and have now switched my personal email from Yahoo to Googlemail.I moved my contacts from yahoo into gmail, all fine. I have also previously got my phone contacts to sync from the phone into gmail.Having got both lots of contacts into gmail i have sorted and merged them on my PC so they are all correct. However, i cannot get the contacts now to sync back from gmail to my phone?When i go to account settings for google and ask it to sync it syncs the calendar and the googlemail but not the contacts despite the refresh symbol appearing next to the contacts option.Basically, how do i get my phone to suck the contacts back out of google and on to the phone itself.I am using google contacts in the phone menu, not SIM or phone so it is nothing to do with that.
