On my wifes Desire. Stopped yesterday so today I contacted vodafone. First they said remove the battery and sim then replace just the battery and turn it on.Then remove it again and put the sim card and battery back turn it on and it should be fine. Not.Then the told me to search for Mobile Networks,select one that wasn't vodafone and then when it was refused to then select vodafone from the list and it would be ok. Not

I have used Lambrospowers (XDA Forum) Rosie patch to enable drag n drop when in helicopter (leap) view. It works flawlessly on my rooted stock Froyo Desire. If anyone is interested, I will provide more info on how to install the patch and where to d/l it from.My desire is rooted but S-ON and odexed. It only works on rooted phones.I love this feature that only comes on DHD & DZ as part of the new sense 2.0 ui as standard.

This thing happened 4 times today. And another problem is turning on the Desire. Sometimes the phone vibrates shortly for 5-6 times and cannot turn on unless I take out the battery and re-insert it. What's wrong with the phone?

I looked across the forum and found that the best thing to do was reset the phone. I did this and all was perfect once more until I went to go to college and was listening to music but couldn't change tracks or pause using the hands-free kit. I have no idea how to get it working again and don't know if the reset had anything to do with it stopping working. All I know is it worked perfectly the other day.

Soo, is it caused by the drop, or is it a sofware issue?
Been like it for 2 weeks now, when i turn my desire on its side to horizontal the screen does not change it use to then one day didnt. its not the new firmware i know this because it was doing this before i updated. anyone els experiencing this and do you have a fix? im hoping the new 2.2 might fix it but can not see it happening tbh.

Is there a setting that I may have set that would disable it? Or is there a way to test if the led flash is still working? I would like to know, the Phone is only a month and a half old.

Since rooting my Desire using Unrevoked 3.21 yesterday I've downloaded the rom manager from the market.
Having successfully flashed the leedroid 2.1a rom to my phone I then found I needed to partition the sd card for A2SD+
When trying to use rom manager to partition my sd card in preperation for A2SD+, I get a white triangle with an explanation mark in it and the android icon beneath.
With the text,
E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted
Then when trying to reboot, the phone was stuck in a boot loop and with a wiped sd card
Managed to get my nandroid backup back on the sdcard and reflash to stock, then when trying to partition again get the same error....thankfully reboot on stock rom works
Any ideas on why my rom manger isn't working?
(I also had a similar error when trying to use the "backup current rom" option)
I hope someone has had this problem. My hotspot was working perfectly yesterday, (dsl died so I'm using it on a Windows 7 laptop) but this morning I wake up and it won't connect properly. It connects to the phone but say unidentified, no network access and limited access. Net works fine on phone as its what I'm typing on now.This is really annoying as I haven't changed anything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just updated to froyo and there are 2 issues. Video camera freezes after recording a clip, and the GPS wont work. It would normally detect my location in less than 15 seconds, but now takes forever. The only way to locate is using wifi or mobile network. it: Unmounted SD card, restarted device, took battery out for 30 secs and put it back. Everything works as it should now.

I can load up my hboot menu but that is about it.. If i try and select recovery in hboot it just resets the phone back into the htc white logo > reset > htc white screen logo loop.. somebody has suggested that unrevoked scewed up somewhere along the line and to install the RUU but windows isnt even recognising it as a USB drive in hboot...

It started a few days ago but I can't be specific when.Pc to phone of calendar is fine, contacts sync fine both ways.I debranded from Vodafone and went to Froyo 10 days ago.Could this be the cause?Just installed the latest sync 2.0.33 from HTC - no change.It's a pain because I started using the phone to make work appointments, fortunately spotting the problems before any real damage was done with clients.Has anyone else come across this and if so found a fix?
View 11 Replies View RelatedDisclaimer: I've started a new thread as I felt this was distinct enough from 2.2 feedback and different from a similar thread.I upgraded to 2.2 today, did it over my mobile H connection and it all worked fine, no problems to report.Got home and turned the wi-fi on and while it will see all the surround access points, included mine, it won't actually connect to mine. When I go right into the settings and look at what's happening it appears to be unable to get past 'Obtaining Address.Nothing has changed on my wireless setup from this morning when 2.1 connected fine.I've rebooted both the router and the phone and it still doesn't connect. All i've not done yet is a factory reset on the phone, but to be honest i'm loathe to do that unless it's completely necessary.Strangely the wi-fi hotspot feature on the phone is working fine.Can someone please help, this is a major issue for me.

Obviously having hard time with people at the shop ("have you tried taking these pictures at night, maybe it understands that it is still daytime even if you tried it in bathroom"). My dumb brain would suggest that manual - flash always on (unless that 5% battery limit is not hit), automatic - depends on sensor income, off - no flash. Really hard to search for stuff like that in forums as usually "flash not working" refers to Adobe Flash.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I carried out check to see if any updates were available. Much to my excitement I noticed that 2.2 was there so I carried out the download. I now have WiFi hotspot, flashtorch, 720p camcorder and applications sharing available in my apps list. The problem stems when I go to view just in TV or BBC iplayer and I am told that my device does not support flashplayer. I have checked and adobe flashplayer is there when I go to manage applications. When I click on it takes me into it but all options to click on are shaded and I cant do nothing about it.

So first time what I did was make a factory reset and everything was back to normal,and that was beforo Froyo, now when I am running Froyo, I wonder when I make a factory reset does it turns me all the way back to the stock desire, without new software version and Froyo update? I have bought Desire on contract so I have everything official, no unbranded or rooted phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire for a couple of weeks now, and I love it! Have spent FAR too many evening customizing it and playing with it and even taking it along to the pub one evening and completely ignoring everyone else there because it had my undivided attention (yes, I know, very sad). Anyhow, very recently (as in, the last couple of days), MMS has stopped working. It first happened on Friday (I think) when I received one from a friend (well, I assumed it was one!) using Handcent. It showed up from the person with a Download button and when I pressed that, it changed to a Downloading which then did nothing. When I came out of and went back into Handcent, repeated those steps, and got the same outcome. I thought it was something to do with Handcent not being configured correctly for MMS - I hadn't sent or received one since installing and using Handcent - I had sent a received a couple using the default Messages app, which then subsequently were pulled through and displayed in Handcent fine. I thought nothing of it at the time, but I've just been playing with it again this afternoon and I can't get anything out of it. I've been trying in both Handcent and the default app to send a simple picture to myself, and it's not sending.
It did send once, for some reason, as I turned the phone off completely, I saw it suddenly send in the background and then low and behold when I booted it up, it was there - but even that hasn't worked this time?! In both Handcent and Messages the picture will sit there with the little spinning circle icon, doing nothing. In the "undelivered messages" section of both clients, they both report that that particular message is failing, but if I try a re-send it still just does nothing. I just can't think what has changed/why it isn't working - could it be Handcent? That's the only thing I can think (that would effect messaging) that could have caused a problem? Another thing is, although I've found the message centre number for my network (o2) in the settings for the default client, and I've found the Access Point details for O2 WAP and O2 MMS (which got downloaded automatically when I first set up the phone) I can't seem to find a way to reset them - I don't want to hit the Delete button on them if it is just left blank - is there a way of re-downloading the settings from the network? (or do I have to make a note of them and input them manually?!) I don't particularly want to have to do a factory reset for this either! It just seems as though, although the settings are there for MMS, neither application seems to be able to connection to the MMS-specific servers and whatnot!
My trackpad suddenly stopped working, I haven't dropped it or anything like that so I don't think it is a hardware problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've done a search through the threads to see if I can find the same issue, so please forgive me if I'm duplicating anything here. I have an HTC Desire on Orange. Until earlier today, my weather widget was working fine, it knew where I was and it updated the weather accurately. This afternoon it recognizes my location correctly but now says 'no weather data available'. It still shows weather for the other locations - London, Paris, etc, but not for where I am now. The only thing I can think of that has changed is that I just installed an update on an app I have (White Noise Lite from TMSOFT). Might uninstalling this app help? I tried to manually add in my location, wondering if this would work, but it is not available on the list of locations. I've tried removing and then re-adding the weather widget to my home screens. I've tried turning my phone off and on again, in the spirit of all IT helpdesk encounters I've ever had.

I have the relevant options enabled on the server and can't see anything related to push on the handset so I'm a bit lost as to why this doesn't work.
