HTC Desire : BBC News Audio / Video Out Of Sync / How To Fix?
Sep 20, 2010When I watch the BBC News on my HTC Desire the sound and the video are out of sync slightly.

When I watch the BBC News on my HTC Desire the sound and the video are out of sync slightly.
I am having an issue where the video and audio are out of sync using my HTC Desire. I am using videos I have already converted for play on an iPhone and work without an issue. I am also having the same problem on youtube videos that I stream using Wifi to my handset. It is only every so slightly out of sync. I have a few people I am speaking to now with the same issue, and I also tried video on a test handset in the store I bought mine from which gives the same issue. Is anyone else noticing this problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had any problems with videos loosing audio sync ?? It plays the first part of the files fine then after a few mins playing it appears to lose sync. Is there any max bitrate the phone supports? They are encoded from dvd at 1344kbs in mp4 format and 128kbs aac sound.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this has been discussed before, but I've been having audio / video sync issues with converted videos on the eris. I'd like to emphasize it is the PHONE ONLY and that all videos played great on the computer. Is there any solution, or maybe a better mp4 video software out there? I'm down to a video quality of 320x240 and 350kbs, but the video still starts to lag the audio. If I pause and then play, the video speeds up to "catch up" to the audio for a split second, but then slowly falls behind again. Overall, I've been really disappointed with the incredibly slow processor on the Eris. It's not like this thing was HTC's first smartphone or anything...

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone else see this? If I start the video from scratch and let it play all the way through, audio is synced just fine. When I drag the slider to another point in the movie, it's now off by a second. If you aren't seeing this behavior on yours, would you mind telling me the compression method you did?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've read many topics from many android forums about this issue, but I have yet to see any posted solutions. If anyone know what program to convert videos, what settings to use, what resolution, what frequencies, what bitrates that will result in sync'd playback all the way through a movie, let me know.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i first fired up the wildfire it had the news widget on the homescreen ready to go on BBC news. I liked the fact it automatically refreshed the news every so often. Now it has stopped working via the widget. I have tried removing and reinstalling the news widget but the widget just hangs on the message 'loading news'. I can still refresh the news headlines by going into the app but it seems an unnecessary hassle when it used to do this automatically. Why and how to fix this? The phone settings all lok okay.

I was under the impression that the Desire handeled flash. does anyone have any comments? Can you listed / watch the embedded audio/video files on the BBC wedsites?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI've seen a thread which covers this topic - but I've started a new one, as the question is slightly different.I've just downloaded the Act 1 video player (demo) from the Android Market to see if the sound and video are out of sync when using this media player - and they're not. The video plays perfectly. The downside is that to play more than 2 minutes, I have to buy the app - even though it's not a lot of money ($1.79), that's beside the point! I see that many people with this sync fault have reported it to HTC, but we're all waiting for a firmware update to resolve it. I think giving this app for free would resolve most people's issues!
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhile watching videos on youtube on my HTC Desire, I noticed a lag in the sound vs. the video. That lag isn't present when I watch it on my laptop (well, the typical 53ms lag yes, but nothing else). I've tried multiple videos and all the same results. Is there a video player I should test this out with, using 5-10 minute clips?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just realized that the News app that comes with my Evo does not sync with Google Reader. That seems weird, given that Android is made by Google. (I think the app is made by HTC, not Google, but still...)
What news/RSS reader is good and will sync with my feeds on Google Reader?
I'm not sure yet whether I want a widget on the home screen or if I will just put an icon and go to the app when I want to read stuff, but any reviews on an app's bundled widget is helpful too.
Just got my desire today. Am A total newbie to android ( so be easy with me) This will be first of many questions. Can any one tell me how i get BBC NEWS Live streaming. When I go on the BBC news website & click news live I am told I have the wrong flash.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am new to android and the desire, just upgraded from a nokia N96. I am running 2.2 android. A couple of questions regarding Rss feeds.
1. From the home screen, I can slide the screen to the left, twice and add a news feed. Can I add more than one feed here, and how can I change the one I have?
2. In "all apps > news" can I delete any of the pre installed news feeds?
Has anybody managed to get the news widget to auto-update? Twitter is fine just the news widget.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI'm sure there's an easy answer to this: I have a lot subscriptions in Google Reader that I'd to access through HTC's news widget; do I really need to export an OPML file from the Reader to my phone - or is it easier than that (I'd have thought so!)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst post. I would really like to watch live bbc news from the bbs web site and was informed I could do this.
When I click the link it states flash not supported and I was then told to down load beebplayer(then told this had been discontinued. Any ideas on the way forward.
HTC Sense have 7 big "home screens", which you can navigate fast. I like it a lot! But I would like to create my own "screen" which should be looking like "News" from Engadget one, but from different source. Is it possible? How?

View 1 Replies View RelatedProblem is, any page on the BBC News website containing a Flash movie crashes the stock browser . So, while this and this are OK. This, this and even the mobile help page crash the browser (links included for you to try ). No force close, the browser just vanishes and I get returns me to the phone home screen.
I've cleared the cache and cookies and even restarted the phone to no avail (and no, I'm not doing a hard reset ).
iPlayer pages are OK as is YouTube.
Is this a BBC problem? Is anyone else having the same issue or is it just me?
Running stock browser on LauncherPro on FroYo.
Is there any reason I can't watch news clips on the BBC News site?
You know, the tiny little Flash videos they have embedded on some news stories
It's load, I can click play, then it comes up with a an error exclamation in a yellow triangle, you know the one.
Any reason for this?
I'm not sure if there is a thread for this or not. I couldn't find one. After I transfer photos/videos via USB to my desktop, I notice when I play the video files that there is no audio. Only the video.
