So I just got my replacement phone from Asurion and I was wondering if there is any way to get all the old text messages from my old EVO to the new one? Could they be backed up on the SD card and then put the SD card in the new EVO?

When I woke up this morning all of my texts were gone. I do not have anything set to delete them. Why would the phone delete all of my messages?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did attempt to use the search feature here but didnt come up with the results I was looking for (or maybe I used it wrong?) I ask the following questions because unfortunately, I dont have good eyesight.
1. Regarding font size. I realize there is no current setting for font size on this phone (that I know of) does anyone here know if the upcoming 2.1 update will include that?
2. I know there is a text size option for the browser. However, it doesent seem to work on most websites I go to (like CNN for example) I try setting it at different sizes and nada. So far my browsing experience hasent been that good because of this (having to constantly strain my eyes looking at website text) Any tips on why the text size option doesent seem to work?
3. is there anyway to increase the text size of emails and text messages?
If I need to paste text from another app in my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy SII, O2, Jelly Bean), like from Google Keep or Docs, into a text message it tends to convert from an SMS to MMS. This leads to a charge for me as my SMS messages are included in my tariff but I have no allowance for MMS messages. I presume that this might be something to do with character encoding or other formatting data that is pasted in, but that is only a guess.
Is there any way to stop short messages from being converted to MMS messages like this:? I couldn't find any 'paste clipboard as plain text' option in Android Jelly Bean.
So I received a text message from someone not in my contact list. The sms came from someone that said ##########@vtext.com.I didn't know who it was and responded who are you. Now I realized who it is before they responded back and want to text that number again but have no idea how to find that text.Anyone have any idea how to view texts that are not attached to a contact or even review all texts for that matter?

On my old phone there was a check mark next to the message if it was delivered to a Verizon customer.This was nice because then I would know if that person had their phone on.Is there anything like this on this phone?

This is starting to really bother me.I txt a lot during the day and it is taking longer and longer for the txt to send through and obviously the problem of clicking on a message list and another message list coming up.I am just getting really frustrated with the txt messaging on this phone.Handcent doesn't seem to help either, still have slow/lag on that application.

I've also experienced receiving 10 messages at once bc they were not coming through. Finally, I am sometimes not receiving a message or two. I was with Verizon previously for about 10 years and did not experience an issue. Do I have a Sprint problem or an Evo problem.

It's fine when I have the ringer turned up, but when I am in a movie or somewhere where I have my phone on vibrate, it doesn't vibrate when I receive a text message. Does anyone know how to make it vibrate when receiving a text message when the ring volume is on vibrate, and not vibrate when receiving a text message when the ring volume is up?

I don't have them set to automatically delete or anything, so I'm curious if this is a common problem/is there any way to get them back? When I try to text here it lags like crazy (I assume because it has all the messages on that page). Like, it will not respond and i have to wait like 15 seconds before i can type between messages sometimes.. very annoying. Anyways, I can't seem to find any way to back these up?

I'm having a problem receiving text messages on my HTC Hero. I'm getting a notification alert, but no message. I'm presuming that its not that I have 150 messages (as a dialogue) saved on the phone, as my old bog standard basic Nokia smartphone at present has over 2000 messages saved. So why arent my messages being received?

Mainly just the bits in the clearstock script.URL...This morning, I know at least 3 people have sent me text messages, which have not turned up. Of course we have had snow, so it my just be the wrong kind of snow on the cells. This has happened in the past. However, today it also deleted all of my text messages, something which has never happened before.
I upgraded to the latest htc stable build a few weeks ago and this has never happened before. Thankfully, I never had any important text messages to lose. Though I am concerned that this may happen in the future and I will lose some important information (e.g. a friends address, phone number of whatever).
About an hour or so later I made a call and it closed down with a similar error message. No contact details or anything like that have been list but again, I'm concerned that it happened at all.
I've noticed today at work then with my phone on vibrate or with the sound off, I do not get any notification of incoming text messages. Same thing with incoming email on my gmail account.. I could have sworn that the phone would vibrate when I got a text the first couple of days I had it. But now I get no vibrating notification at all.

I had the usual hastle of my facebook contacts getting in the way so I removed the facebook sync in account settings (it was a pain when trying to send a text message to multiple people) but for some reason I can still see my sim card contacts when sending a text message and I cannot find any options in settings to only view phone contacts. When I look at the contacts settings I only have phone contact selected. I dont really want to delete the contacts from the sim as there are some numbers that I want to keep on there incase I ever need them again, so if anyone knows another work around that would be great.

Im a pretty private guy and i hate when my girl reads my texts i send and recive. with old phones id just delete my messages. but with my hero i cant delete messages in chompSMS nor the normal messagner app. ill hold down my finger and press delete and it just doesnt delete anything and most of the time crashes my phone and i have to reset my phone. this is VERY annoying because when she grabs my phone i have to fight to get my phone back so she doesnt see any of my texts that i CANT delete !
View 40 Replies View RelatedThe problem I'm having is trying to delete a thread of 1600 text messages from one person. Everytime I try to delete, it freezes my phone & have to force close the messages. Even turning off my phone doesn't work, I have to pull the battery out.
I tried looking up some answers on the forum. One member mentioned downloading Handcent. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me either. Same issues occured, phone froze & couldn't restart phone...had to take the battery out!
