View 9 Replies View RelatedIn my short rooting history, I have settled on using Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo ROM. I love nearly everything about the ROM with one exception. You may have noticed that when you zoom in on text (this forum, for instance), the words do not wrap the way they do on the stock ROM. This means unnecessary horizontal scrolling. The typical fix is to flash the stock fonts, but those are boring. The look of Myn's is part of the appeal, right? Good news. You can flash any of the font packs located in this thread to restore the proper word wrap function. From what I have found, the Liberations Sans font is close to what comes with Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo.Hopefully someone finds this as beneficial as I have. If this is common knowledge, I apologize and will remove the thread.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have been rooted for sometime but haven't played with any ROMS yet until I finally got tired of waiting for Nov OTA and realized virtuous 3.1 has implemented the updates already.I figure a new post regarding this rom was warranted and hadn't seen anything in AF INC yet.1st thing to note. If you have been pondering this update and not doing it because you will have wipe the phone, Virtuous does not require a wipe and when you install the ROM you will have all your old data.I thought this was cool, especially for when the next updates come through such as new Sense build as well as Gingerbread.I did have one question for any other virtuous users.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI rooted using Unrevoked 3.21 last week. I'm anxious to get the OTA though, as it addresses the multiple gmail sync issue that has been a problem for me since 2.2.I've already found I can't simply apply the OTA as is (I get the yellow ! warning while it tries to update). So my question is, what is the simplest way to apply the OTA, ideally without wiping data, etc.? I've been trying to read some of the other methods but they seem to involve flashing whole new ROMs, etc. and I'm basically just looking to update as is and retain root (or at least be able to run unrevoked 3.21 again).I'm hoping someone can post step by step what needs to be done - as the main reason I used unrevoked 3.21 in the first place was its 1-click nature.

I'm thinking of installing this app, as the rom that I'm using allows to be over clocked and under clocked, i believe. What i want to know is, what is it all about? i have seen the terms mentioned and all that, but I'm not entirely sure what its all to do with, what will the advantages be? and what is the best way to use it?
View 33 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a project (Foursquare). I pushed a new version to marketplace last night, but it is not showing up in marketplace searches for Evo users. I've read about this happening to other apps, and one major reason seems to be if copy protection is being used (but it is not for the Foursquare app).
Anyone else have an idea why this is happening? Is there a set of permissions Evo doesn't support which may be blocking the app from showing up in marketplace?
I'm implementing ScoreLoop for my game. There is a standard selection widget for the leaderboard type, which lets you refine the scores. By default, I get:
- Global Leaderboard - Your Country Leaderboard - 24h Leaderboard - search_list.nationality_iso3166_1 - search_list.nationality_iso3166_2
What on earth are the last two items? This list seems to come from ScoreLoop, rather than being anything configurable in the xml. I only want the first three in the list, is there anyway I can set this somewhere? I notice that other games that use ScoreLoop (like Jewels for example) only have the first three items also.
damn Best Buy told me I can't get EVO unless I have a regular plan. Shows what happens when you listen to forum users that don't know what they are talking about.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently planning to develop an application which will allow users to share comments (similar to tweets, facebook status', etc.) which can then be viewed by other users. This is only a small part of the app, however it is the one part with which I'm having trouble with.
My issue is that I'm not sure how to go about designing this. I've read up a little about SQLite and creating databases, however I'm not sure this is the route I should be looking at. Essentially what I need is to have an area where users can select a category from a provided list, post a comment to this category and be able to view any other comments.
Don't use bgill55 themes for your UD ROM, they're bricking your phones. ATTN mods: meant to post this in "All Things Root" subforum.

View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen the HTC Hero 2.1 was leaked out I immediatly pulled out the new HTC_IME.apk file (the keyboard). I figure that it will be updated for bigger, high res screens since this is whats going to come on hte Bravo/Passion/Dragon. I was sad to find out that the version number was higher than my droid so it would not install. When I peeked into the Manifest file I could see that it is SDK level 6 where Droid is on SDK level 5. At the time I assumed 6 was 2.1. However, Google has already released the 2.0.1 SDK and it is level 6.So, since I haven't gotten my update to 2.0.1 yet maybe someone else wants to see if the HTC_IME.apk will now install? You can either pull the file down from the web, install it with a file manager like Astro, or push it to the phone with "adb install HTC_IME.apk" if you have the SDK installed.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm writing a game that includes an editor for users to create their own levels. I'd like players to be able to share the levels they've created with other players. I'm trying to figure out the best way of implementing that, and hoping for any advice on the subject.
One obvious option is to set up a server for sharing levels. The game would connect directly to the server to let players share their creations or download levels created by other players. This provides seamless integration and a good user experience, but I'd really prefer not to use this approach. For one thing, I don't want the cost and responsibility of setting up and maintaining the server. And I would be taking on a basically unlimited obligation; otherwise, if I decided to shut down the server a few years from now, the game would suddenly lose a large part of its value.
Another idea I had is to use the Android Market as the way to distribute sets of levels. That way, Google is taking care of running the server for me. Clearly there are programs that work this way, since I've seen lots of themes and expansion packs for particular applications in the Market. While this could work, I'm not very happy with it. Asking an ordinary user to sign up for a developer account on the Market and learn how to post files through it is unreasonable, not to mention they would have to pay $25.
The approach I'm currently leaning toward is allowing levels to be exported as ordinary files. People could then just email them to each other, post them on any website they wanted, etc. Ideally I would want to set up a file type association so they could simply open an email attachment or click a link in the web browser, and my game would automatically be launched to import it. I haven't yet looked into whether that's possible.
I did an app called "Hello Yahoo" and today I made an update. But users said it can't be installed because the package is not signed correctly. And after that the old version can't even be uninstalled because the device thinks it is uninstalled already. I never experience that, but it is reported by many users. I do use a different keystore to sign it with the update. Is this the case? How can I fix this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm just experimenting with Greystripe, to see how the ads look in comparison with other providers. I can't get it working, though I'm sure I've followed the instructions to the letter.
- I've setup the application and got the unique identifier. It is shown as live in my account.
- I've setup a test device and entered the correct device details
- I checked and double checked my code.
No ads are ever returned. The call sdk.is Ad Ready() always returns false. It's been hours now since the account was setup. I get no error messages. It all seems rather vague, with a lack of support from their end.
My requirement is to make an activity which provides user with a screen in which user can input his signs. I want these signs to be then saved as an image in database. Is there any default activity which does similar task.
