I have x10 mini pro but before that I used bb8800, I feel very inconvenient when "z" lies just below the "a" keys, not a film s such as very or press bb wrong, how to correct keyboard layout is x into z, c into x, v bar c, b into v and more.

I'm using an MK802 mini PC. I don't have a USB keyboard yet.
When I plug in a wired USB mouse, I can use that to click on the on screen soft keyboard.
But when I plug in the wireless dongle for a USB mouse, the Android soft keyboard doesn't show anymore (I guess this is because the wireless dongle supports both keyboard and mouse, and tells Android a hardware keyboard is available, so Android doesn't show the soft keyboard).
Any way to ignore this and always show the soft keyboard? Or another keyboard I can download which will always show?
I just received my Xperia mini and I'd like to change the keyboard to "landscape keyboard". The user manual says that I have to change the settings to auto rotate for the keypad to function in landscape. I've done this but I still don't have it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know a good/working mini bluetooth keyboard (or even micro USB) that works with the Desire without a root. It would be good if it had a dock so it was "attached" to the keyboard, and excellent if it could be used to play games, e.g. SNESOID etc or Quake 3 etc. Micro USB might be better if such a thing exists due to the dodgy nature of the Desire's bluetooth.

I would like to map commands to keyboard keys if there is a hardware keyboard available, but the layout is very important. I have had users from Germany complaining that layout is not optimized for their phones (since the Y and Z keys are swapped). Is there any way to automatically detect this, or am I stuck making it a setting?

View 2 Replies View Relatedso hopefully this question/problem isn't as simple/dumb as my previous.I've somehow messed up my keyboard settings or language. the bottom right and bottom left buttons now have some Chinese/Japanese text on them and the bottom left button turns on some alternative keyboard options and changes my text output to Japanese.Now I presumed this was simply something in my language settings but I've set them back to UK and still no joy.I'm also using Handcent sms and the Handcent keyboard ui but that's not displaying either. Tried un-install/reinstall but no luck.

But whenever I bring up the soft-keyboard the button will be displayed above the keyboard. So, the search box is fixed to the bottom of the screen. But, when user clicks the EditText, Soft Keyboard shows up and pushes the layout out of the screen except the search box. I'm just starting out with Android, so am I doing anything wrong here??
I am designing an Android app and I'm having a couple of layout issues. I have a screen with 3 EditTexts on it in a row, and I would like for the 'next' key on the soft keyboard to cycle between the EditText fields. As for now, the 'next' key has no effect. Also, when the soft keyboard is displayed, it covers up the third of the EditTexts. Is there any way to push up the layout in the event that the soft keyboard is drawn?

My dictionary is in spanish, but the phone main language is set to english; is this the problem?
If so, it should not be. Messaging should use dictionary and not phone language.
also, is there really a need for limiting character counts when using special characters? (YuS it needs more info, but doesn't the Standard for character representation take care of this)

I have just purchased the X10 handset and on a whole I'm really pleased with it. My previous handset was an N97 - rubbish! Anyway, since playing with the phone, could you answer these for me as I'm new to Android and don't really know what I'm doing.
1) On the mentu's, text screen, etc. It has a blue background and white writing. Is there anyway to change this? I have an eye condition and blue isn't the best colour for me to read from. I was looking for something like theme settings but there isn't one.
2) Is there a keyboard application that is like the normal alphanumeric layout on phone keypads ie to get the letter b you press the number 2 twice. I believe the HTC Desire has this option and old Nokia N97 that the feature.
3) I've read on another thread about the ringing volume and earpiece volume being low and turning up the volume to max makes the earpiece sounds quality pop/crackle. I've experienced this too but does anyone know if there is a firmware update out to rectify this?
4) I've also read that Android 2.1 is due out for this handset. Does anyone know when it's out, or if it is already out, where do I download it from?
Browsing around the net at work today for Bluetooth Game Controllers, I came across a Mini Bluetooth Keyboard HERE - it's also selling on Ebay. It claims to be compatible with Android, but as we're all learning Android on one phone isn't the same as Android on another.
I'm wondering two things really: 1) Anyone know if it is actually compatible with Android and moreso if it's compatible with HTC Incredible
and 2) If it is compatible, once connected, can you use it in conjunction with Game Emulators (I have the popular one for GBA) so that I could use the buttons on there to play the games.
It's the perfect size for a game controller (too bad they don't also make one for that purpose) and would be much better than the touch screen controls which impede on the game.
I want to change the default layout which Android uses for show the alternative keys when performs a long-press on a key. Keys have an attribute "android:popupKeyboard" used for define the layout of the alternative key list (which could be a Keyboard reference) but when I use it the Android's default layout still appears. Is possible to change or override this layout?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi flashed a new update of Xylon-Rom (clean flash) on my Nexus 4. Installed and restored all Apps. Usually I use Swiftkey 4 as keyboard, so I set up everything like all the times before. The last times everything works fine, but this time not. I set up SK as my standard keyboard and began to write. After a while I wanted to write again, but suddenly there was the AOSP keyboard. Changed back to SK. But after some moments it happend again. So everytime when there is a text input AOSP appears.. I change back to SK then, but after turning screen on some minutes later AOSP again.
As it would be not enough, the same thing is happening since yesterday on my gf phone (HTC One S, also rooted with Carbon Rom). Like on my phone, it never happenend before. What I've done till now? Erased App-Data of both keyboards, disabled AOSP keyboard. Everything without success.
Dont know why it happens now... I often flash other Roms, Updates etc and I use Swiftkey for a long time. Restoring with Titanium works everytime. And this time i haven't done any other thing on Restoring.
