When writing SMS / MMS in JB 4.2.2 CM 10.1 the keyboard drops and dissapears after writing about for 2-3 seconds.
You have to press the Menue botton in order to get the keyboard back, and try to write again for 2-3 seconds before it happens again!
I even tried the GO SMS Pro-app to see if that worked, but it's the same thing - keyboard drops after writing a few letters.

I am requesting information regarding writing an app that would respond to user input from the keyboard. Basically, I want to turn certain words into symbols when they are typed. So, if 'brb' was typed, then I would put up "Be Right Back" or something similar onto the screen.
So, I need to know the following:
1. How to run an app as a thread
2. How to have an app monitor what is typed in as input from the keyboard
2a. Is this limited to text / email / any app?
Is it possible on my x8,to have,the same alphanumeric keyboard for writing SMS like on x10 mini,and how?

Problem 1: Every time my battery reaches around 50% and when I restart my phone, the battery drops to around 20%. I tried using the Battery Calibration app but it doesn't seemed to calibrate correctly.
Problem 2: Sometimes my phone just disconnect from my local phone service network. I have tried switching off the SIM card lock and toggling the airplane mode but it just doesn't search for any network. In the Settings menu, I do a manual network search but an error was display. Is it because of the ROM or kernel?
When I flash back to stock with HD2 stock rom I notice the wifi stays connected to my connectify connection until I disconnect it myself but after I flash to TyphooN_CM7_v3.8.1-MAGLDR the wireless works for about 1 minute and drops but still shows as connected on the HD2 until I disconnect and reconnect again and it repeats.
Is it a problem with connectify, the radio I flashed to is _2.15.50.14 ?
i have this strange issue with my old Xperia X10 (about 3 years old, running 2.3.3). The phone runs fine, fully charged can last two days with normal usage (as always). I can play any games for hours before the battery goes dead. But as soon as I turn on data connection, both wifi or mobile network, it runs about 2 minutes and suddenly "turning off" window appears and the phone shuts down. When I start up the phone again, the battery is about 20-30% lower than before the shutdown (depends on the percentage, can drop to zero if charged at 50%) and shuts down again after couple seconds (i can barely type in the PIN code). But if I manage to turn the data connection off again in those few seconds, it doesn't shut down anymore and runs normally again. Weird thing is that in following hour after this incident, the battery slowly recharges itsself back to the original state (or little below it, just as it normally would). Here is the pic:
I guess its not faulty battery or anything, probably its software related but I can't imagine a sw that could drain the battery so fast (in seconds), almost like if it short-circuited the battery.

There's quite a few apps for reading SMS messages in big font, but I can't find any way to write a SMS using a font in 30+ points of size. I couldn't find anything suitable using Google nor Android Market.

I've been able to get it to flash fine but then it seems like nothing actually flashed. I'm not sure if the script is wrong or if my compile was bad.
EDIT- Also, how do the updater-binaries get generated? I'm not really sure how I get those. I'd just used one the Battery Mod Tool creates.

I'm trying to write and edit some things into the file , which I have tried with NotePad++ and Notepad and WordPad . None will work ... When I go to Flash I have a Error right away since The Update binary is the system to start the Flash it won't work .

I have checked all the "don't share my location" type boxes. This is deeper than that.

I'm using an MK802 mini PC. I don't have a USB keyboard yet.
When I plug in a wired USB mouse, I can use that to click on the on screen soft keyboard.
But when I plug in the wireless dongle for a USB mouse, the Android soft keyboard doesn't show anymore (I guess this is because the wireless dongle supports both keyboard and mouse, and tells Android a hardware keyboard is available, so Android doesn't show the soft keyboard).
Any way to ignore this and always show the soft keyboard? Or another keyboard I can download which will always show?
I just ran a speed test on my 4g in york pennsylvania with one bar and i had 342kb/s. i did not realize how fast it really was. even thought the upload speed for some reason drops to like 50 some. my 3g speeds average is around 150 with a similar upload speed. WOW am i too excited or is this incredible for a phone? also my friend at work just texted me and claims his GayPhone4 is faster than mine we shall find out when i get there.

View 38 Replies View RelatedPlain and simple: When the Evo is fully charged, it begins running off its battery until you plug it back in. It DOES NOT trickle charge whatsoever after it reaches 100%. When you're using your Evo on the charger, and it's showing full 100% charge, it is running off the battery, not the AC plug. And then when you unplug it, well, we all know what happens next. The battery meter drops insanely fast to the actual charge of the battery, which could be very low, depending on how long it's been sitting idle at 100% on your charger. So all those times you've charged your Evo overnight, only to take it to work the next day and be at 80% within an hour? Your Evo was running off its battery for what I'm guessing was most of the night. It takes my Evo about an hour to two hours to fully charge back to 100%. Let's say you put your Evo on the charger at 11PM, it'll reach full charge by 1AM at the latest, and then run off its battery until whenever you take it off the charger in the morning. Workarounds? 1) Turn your Evo off while it's charging. 2) If you must leave it on for an alarm clock, put it in airplane mode and end all CPU intensive tasks to minimize battery drain. 3) When you wake up, unplug it for 10-20 minutes (still experimenting with this number), and then plug it back in to top it off. Onceit reaches 100%, take it off the charger, and go about your day. Try it out for yourself. When your Evo is 100% charged, take it off the charger immediately, and I highly doubt you will lose the 10%-15% within minutes.
View 49 Replies View Relatedi flashed a new update of Xylon-Rom (clean flash) on my Nexus 4. Installed and restored all Apps. Usually I use Swiftkey 4 as keyboard, so I set up everything like all the times before. The last times everything works fine, but this time not. I set up SK as my standard keyboard and began to write. After a while I wanted to write again, but suddenly there was the AOSP keyboard. Changed back to SK. But after some moments it happend again. So everytime when there is a text input AOSP appears.. I change back to SK then, but after turning screen on some minutes later AOSP again.
As it would be not enough, the same thing is happening since yesterday on my gf phone (HTC One S, also rooted with Carbon Rom). Like on my phone, it never happenend before. What I've done till now? Erased App-Data of both keyboards, disabled AOSP keyboard. Everything without success.
Dont know why it happens now... I often flash other Roms, Updates etc and I use Swiftkey for a long time. Restoring with Titanium works everytime. And this time i haven't done any other thing on Restoring.
is there a keyboard app that use text prediction while using a physical keyboard such as in Droid pro or HTC Status ?

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'

- Added option to disable notification icon

Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.

Android Version: 2.2 (but also happened on 2.1). My phone's battery level will suddenly drop to 89% even though it is still on charge. It's annoying because sometimes you'll start the day with only 89% charge instead of 100%. My friend also has a Desire but is not experiencing this problem - the only difference between them is the version of kernel. TXTS not gotten, emails not coming in emails not being sent (this is when I really notice it) Power cycle the phone and presto everything is back to working.
Example, I just restarted my phone and the email that was hanging was sent the very second it started back up then 51 emails came into my inbox
Anyone else have these issues? If not I think I'm gonna have to call VZW about another phone coming my way.
Just started happening last week. I have everything up to date. Whenever I text, on my pc the app pops up and says "reconnect failed". If I click 'connect', it says to enable USB tether on the phone, which IS enabled. Whenever this happens, I need to go to the phone, turn off PDAnet and then turn it back on. Everytime. So frustrating.
Anyone else have this problem? Using it on an LG ally btw
After charging fully my green notify light comes on and my battery says 100. But after 1 min of unplugging the usb cable it drops to 97. I have wifi on and brightness set at middle level.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThe thing they talked about the most was how GREAT the battery life is, well let me tell you. they are all a bunch of liars. Ive never had a phone with battery life as terrible as this thing. i've talked to a rep that told me "just gotta let it drain and then charge. do that a couple times and it should be fine" ok i figured that was all nonsense because she wanted me off the phone so i did that. Now did that work? no of course not. i take it off the charger and after 6 minutes and 23 seconds of use it drops down 10%, the back is pretty warm at all times. i've turned off the GPS, WIFI, and whatever else their is to turn off. Its insanely pathetic. Is anyone else having this problem, it seems like no matter what when you get a verizon phone its guaranteed to break or have a problem. I get through about 5 hours of very moderate use.
View 43 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my wifi will completely disconnect about a minute after starting a phone call when bluetooth is on. If I turn off BT, wifi comes right back on. I can use phone without bt, wifi on, no problems.

Anyone else seeing this issue? It was also happening when I was on Skyraider 2.5.2.
Connect to my secured Wi-fi network fine when the network is broadcasting (network name not "hidden"). As soon as the network is no longer broadcasting (i.e. network is changed to stop broadcasting the name), DInc drops the wi-fi connection.
Settings menu shows the name of the network is remembers from previous connection but states that it is "not in range" (and remembered).
Wi-fi network is secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK and is an Apple Airport Extreme with (b, g, n).
Anyone experience this and appreciate any suggestions which would allow the DInc to stay connected to a "closed network."
