I have 2 devices I would like to root. I have rooted my old Droid x but it has been a while. Droid bionic is running 5.5.886 and zoom is running Verizon 4.0.4 ICS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Droid Bionic last week. My brother got one about a week before me as well. I feel like his battery last so much longer than mine. What can I do to extend my battery life. I feel like he uses his just as much as me, but I feel like his last much longer. My first Bionic was defective and wouldn't charge past 40% so I returned it, and I feel like this one doesn't last as long as I want.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently don't have a slow smartphone but when I had my original Droid it would really slow down until I put a new or updated rom on it. Even if I rebooted it it would still be slow. I now have the Droid Bionic and it's really fast but will it someday get slow? I guess I don't understand the smartphone technology very well, yet. Is there or will there be some sort of software that you can run that will speed it back up?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using my Bionic as my alarm clock since I got it. I have a dock at home, and the display stays on all night when docked. I also periodically dock my phone while at work, which also keeps the display on.
I realize that the phones are meant to be used and they wouldn't build these features into these phones if they were bad for them... right?
My question is this: How many people dock their phones and use them as alarm clocks, and have you ever encountered any problems with prolonged use and the brightness or sharpness of the screens?
I am concerned that I am wearing out my display by keeping it on all night while I am asleep.
I am having a bit of an issue with my bonic. I noticed today that my lens on my camera is broken and so now my camera will not focus. What I'm wondering is where can I buy a replacement? Because I really don't want to spend $100 to get a new one from verizon when this is something I can probably fix myself.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have read many post on changing the boot audio along with the boot animation, but was unable to get it to work with my bionic so i did some foot work with my budy and we figured out how to change the boot audio on the droid Bionic.
1. Download and extract the bootanimation file.
2. Backup/Move your stock bootanimation file out of system/bin
3. Move the new bootanimation file to system/bin
4. Move selected audio (Must be mp3 format and named "android_audio") to system/media
I took the video of my grandson swearing in to the U. S. Air Force on my Droid Bionic phone using COLOR and thinking I was broadcasting it live, but evidentally I was not. SO now I have it on my phone only and cannot find a way to share the video. I am deathly afraid it will get damaged or lost. His mom died in a homicide and needless to say this is a valuable piece of family memory to me to risk losing if the phone gets lost or damaged.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way to sync iTunes music? I've been using DoubleTwist but it is just not working these days (especially after ICS update). I sync it and sync it and Playlists never appear. So I need something else. I'm mostly concerned about a Smart Playlist I have for podcasts, which would not sync with Google Play. So frustrating dealing with Doubletwist. I have Droid Bionic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone just randomly started playing a "commercial"? for some McAfee Deep something product, talking about phone secrutiy and stealth attacks and how attacks now start at the kernel level? There was no video playing, I was on my home screen while the sound was coming out.
I started closing apps 1 by 1 to see if it would stop. First I thought it was pulse, so closed it first, then Google Chrome and nothing. I ended up closing all of my apps and it was still playing!
At the end I heard the "Intel inside" sound.
So i had my Droid Bionic (Verizon) rooted a few months back. A few weeks ago, there was an update for android firmware. I went from 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 without realizing I had to un-root my phone before.
The night I updated, my battery just so happened to run out in the middle of the night (the update was done in the morning, so the update process was obviously unaffected). I woke up to AP Flashboot Flash boot error. This was temporarily fixed with me just loading the fastboot menu and selecting Normal Powerup.
But now i would like to re-root my phone, and i was wondering if it is safe to just straight-up root it with my comp. And if im not specific enough, just let me know what information i have to include.
I have two email accts set up but only the default email account shows on my home screen. How can i have both show up?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a rooted bionic via Pete's 1 click root. I rooted my phone via my wifes computer (windows 7). I recieved the newest update tonight and wanted to download it, so i read up on it. I did what i found was the proper procedure (using my windows XP computer). I downloaded pete's software to my computer, un rooted it, planned to re root it and do the forever root on my phone and then update. Problem is after the un root, my phone wont root at all now. I did it via the newest software Pete has out, and then tried his older version. His newer version gives me an error after the third reboot of my phone. the older version says it roots my phone but superuser (and all other apps of course) cant gain root access.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter getting the 4.0.4 update pushed from Verizon, my Motorola Bionic has disappeared from adb radar. terminal command "adb devices" returns nothing under list of devices attached, when its usb connected. (I've updated my android sdks. to latest platform tools).
I have tried each of the 3 usb settings 4.0.4 offers (Mass Storage, Media Device(MTP) and Camera (PTP), with debugging both on and off. Still no joy. I have killed and started adb server and rebooted both the macbook pro and the bionic. BTW - the original android os it started with had a "Charge Only" mode, which was the usb connection type that adb connection had previously required, but that's gone from this 4.0.4 upgrade for some reason.
I have searched numerous forums and threads. Those forums that did have posts about adb not finding connected device, mostly suggested rebooting and updated sdks. A couple suggested editing some config files, but I couldn't locate those.
I'm running osx lion 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro. I can provide phone system info if necessary. I've copied below the info I've gathered about the usb port the device is connected to from USB Prober.
Using usb prober the device appears as "Composit device: "XT875" in the bus probe. Port Info shows as: 0x1018, not captive, external device, connected, enabled. Device Descriptor shows as:
Descriptor Version Number: 0x0200
Device Class: 0 (Composite)
Device Subclass: 0
Device Protocol: 0
Device MaxPacketSize: 64
