View 1 RepliesOver the past 1-2 weeks I have gotten a star in my notification bar. The first 2 times, trying to get me to install singles apps, now this time saying I won an ipad.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to hide just the notification icon without hiding the notification itself from pulldown?
Use case: Yahoo Weather app, the persistent notification in the pulldown is beautiful. I want it to always be there. However, the little temperature notification icon is pretty ugly, and I want to hide/disable it.
Using JB's "disable notifications" won't work since it will disable the entire notification, not just the icon.
What program the eye is in the screen shot? it appears and disappears... How to get rid of it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using Go SMS Pro for a long time and have never had this problem. When I get a new text, the Go icon shows up in my notification bar as usual (I have it set to do this), but when I access that text message either from the notification bar pull-down or through the Go SMS app itself, the icon still remains in my notification bar. The only way to remove it is to pull down my notifications and hit "clear". I believe I have all my settings in order (stock notifs off, etc.).
Using Android Rezound (Gingerbread - still!), not rooted, Go Launcher Pro
i got a transparent icon in the notification bar is like a submarine o balloon, but the weird thing is just in the lock screen, when i enter in the home screen the icon disappear but coming again on the lock screen, some one knows what can be?
View 14 Replies View RelatedThis icon appears whenever my data allowance has been used up. My network who are usually useful with things like this were otherwise on this occasion.
My phone is rooted with CM and terminal editor. Although I've not well versed in terminal editor I can follow instructions, like adding read/write to the system folder so I could delete system apps.
There's this icon that pops up at random.
Its kinda like a rectangle shape, with a plus sign in the middle.. I wish I could attach a screenshot but I am not sure how to..
I have a daily recurring alarm set (M-F @ 6am). For some reason, the alarm icon in the notification bar just up and disappears on me occasionally, and I don't know why. The alarm went off this morning, but since I was asleep, I don't know if the icon was up there or not.
Here's the thing. I don't care if it disappears so long as I know that the alarm will go off. But, will it? I don't know for sure unless I see that icon up there in the notification bar (or on the lock screen) that tells me that the alarm is set.
I don't have any task killers or alarm clock applications installed. I once had a task killer installed, but didn't see the point in it so I uninstalled it. I had Kaloer clock installed, but uninstalled it for the same reason.
So I don't know what would be causing the conflict, or would be killing the notification, unless for some reason Angry Birds Rio just loves killing notification icons.
Android 2.2.2 on a Samsung Replenish.
Edit: I should add, when the icon disappeared, I went into the alarms and found that it was, in fact, still set and turned on. If I turn off the alarm, then turn it back on, the icon returns, but then disappears after a while. So, it looks like the alarm stays on, but I still that apprehensive feeling of not knowing for sure because the icon isn't there.
identify this icon that is constantly on the notification bar of a Galaxy S4?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd like to know if it's actually default google now behaviour or not. View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed my usual apps after flashing Mr. X's stock+root-CIQ Tmo T989 rom.First app I usually download and run before anything is Adfree. Then Astro file manager to restore APKs. But I realized that this method left me with some older versions of the apps and they wouldn't have their market links. Yes, I could run Titanium Backup to fix them..
Anyways, suddenly I get a star icon on my notification bar. I look at it and it sends me to a website claiming I won a tablet and to chose. Code: URL...So I decided to wipe and flash again and go through the same process to see if perhaps catch who's the culprit..
It happens again this time with a plus icon..The star icon has happened twice on different occasions, only in the last week, and after installing a recent update to Adfree.
I've had one app actually hijack my my stock browser and change the search engine to some smartsearch type site, like it does to normal windows browsers
I think I have been seen apps can do this, but cannot remember them at all
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a longtime iPhone user (since 3G) who just switched to Android and the Galaxy Note 3 this week. There are several things I miss about iOS, and one of them is badge notifications without the need for a 3rd party app. Ideally, when I'm due a notification from Facebook, I want only a badge notification on the app's icon, like you do in iOS, and I'm getting that with "Missed it!" installed. However, I don't want an actual notification (via audible tone and indicator) in the notification bar. Is it possible to disable notifications via the notification bar, but still have it display a badge notification on the icon?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there something that replicates this feature?: changing a notifications priority/or hiding the notification icon from the status bar.
I know that you can permanently hide all notifications of an app via app info, but what I am looking for is something that will allow me to only hide any icon from the status bar, but the notification will still be there when I pull down the notification shade.
I currently use a ROM that has this feature, and I have yet to find it implemented in any other way or through any other ROM. I would love to go back to stock or an AOSP rom and use only Xposed modules, but this is the only thing that is stopping me. This feature is absolutely vital in my opinion in my everyday use.
You can see this feature in the screenshot below. When I long press any notification when I select the Hide status bar apps notification icon, the icon will not show up. As if it either replaces it (which I believe it does with a transparent dot) or just as useful would be to change the priority of the notification to low.
This just amazes me that I can't find anything else that does this. I'm hoping there is some type of xposed module that can replicate this feature, or anything really. If only i could find the code in the source of the rom myself to compile it into stock or something... Nexus 5
today a strange icon started to show up in the notification area. It has no notification attached to it, restarting the device doesn't make it go away and neither am I aware of any app installed that could have caused this. Due to the resemblance the icon bears to the ICS logo, I thought it might be some system-based event (something like an android anniversary date or whatnot), yet it persisted through GMT midnight, which makes it seems less likely then it did when I found out. I tried an image-based search for any images and screenshots containing the said icon, but came out empty-handed. As Henzman said, it's the new icon of the Power Toggles app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do you right-click on a Droid x2 and/or Bionic?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a rooted bionic via Pete's 1 click root. I rooted my phone via my wifes computer (windows 7). I recieved the newest update tonight and wanted to download it, so i read up on it. I did what i found was the proper procedure (using my windows XP computer). I downloaded pete's software to my computer, un rooted it, planned to re root it and do the forever root on my phone and then update. Problem is after the un root, my phone wont root at all now. I did it via the newest software Pete has out, and then tried his older version. His newer version gives me an error after the third reboot of my phone. the older version says it roots my phone but superuser (and all other apps of course) cant gain root access.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter getting the 4.0.4 update pushed from Verizon, my Motorola Bionic has disappeared from adb radar. terminal command "adb devices" returns nothing under list of devices attached, when its usb connected. (I've updated my android sdks. to latest platform tools).
I have tried each of the 3 usb settings 4.0.4 offers (Mass Storage, Media Device(MTP) and Camera (PTP), with debugging both on and off. Still no joy. I have killed and started adb server and rebooted both the macbook pro and the bionic. BTW - the original android os it started with had a "Charge Only" mode, which was the usb connection type that adb connection had previously required, but that's gone from this 4.0.4 upgrade for some reason.
I have searched numerous forums and threads. Those forums that did have posts about adb not finding connected device, mostly suggested rebooting and updated sdks. A couple suggested editing some config files, but I couldn't locate those.
I'm running osx lion 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro. I can provide phone system info if necessary. I've copied below the info I've gathered about the usb port the device is connected to from USB Prober.
Using usb prober the device appears as "Composit device: "XT875" in the bus probe. Port Info shows as: 0x1018, not captive, external device, connected, enabled. Device Descriptor shows as:
Descriptor Version Number: 0x0200
Device Class: 0 (Composite)
Device Subclass: 0
Device Protocol: 0
Device MaxPacketSize: 64
