General :: Removing Root From Stock ROM Zip?

Jun 5, 2014

So I spent hours searching for the stock ROM for my HTC Desire 300, so that I could unroot it. Then I deleted the entire OS/Rom by mistake and was left with a brick. Finally, I managed to find this stock version. It's rooted, and has the same SuperSu error about updating. Is there any way for me to remove the root files from this zip? so that the phone won't be rooted when I flash the rom? Which files would I remove?

In the Zip I have the following items:

META-INF (Folder)
Boot (Disk Image File)
Recovery (Disk Image File)
System (Disk Image File)

General :: How To Root Galaxy FIT 2.3.6 S5670DDKT2 On Stock Firmware

Feb 20, 2012

I had rooted my galaxy FIT on stock rom with gingerbread 2.3.4 & firmware version S5670DDKQ5 using SUPERONECLICK earlier.

Recently my fone was upgraded by samsung kies to gingerbread 2.3.6 & firmware version S5670DDKT2, and after the upgrade I was unrooted again
When I tried to root again, all my attempts failed, I used SuperOneClick 2.3.3 to root my fone again, but it failed after STEP 7.

Why can't I root my fone now, has SAMSUNG patched the zergrush exploit?

If so how do I root again?, I mean it should be safe enough to try coz I don't wanna brick my phone....

General :: Gain Root On Stock System Image

May 6, 2013

I own a complete backup of all partition of the LG P990 with stock ICS, made it with nvflash with a command like this,

Code:

nvflash -r -read <-partition number-> my_partition.img

for all the partition listed in the partition table.

I guess that in someone of that raw image file, (outputted by nvflash), is located the entry system partition, (PartitionId=23 for the LG P990 ICS partition layout).

It's easy for every linux user to mount the raw image file, simply with 'mount' utility.

Browsing them we can find as already hypothesized the entrie android system partition!

If I copying in it the 'su' executable compiled for my platform, it could work?

HTC Desire :: How To Root / Keep Stock Rom?

Jul 28, 2010

Quick question that will probably turn into a million... can I root and keep my stock Rom? For the moment I don't want to change it, just root the phone. Can I use the one click method through steps 1 - 3 and then just reboot my phone to leave the stock rom ok there? And will I lose everything? I have my back up pro that can help with the back up, can I just restore that after? And will it back up my home screens too? I don't want to go through that process of setting them up again.

HTC EVO 4G :: Stock 2.2 - Simplest And Easiest Way To Root?

Sep 24, 2010

I'm looking for advice on the simplest and easiest way to root. I know theres something that wipes the phone, rolls back to 2.1 and then roots it. I just got my second eEo because my first overheats. It came with 2.2, is that an issue? What do I need to know about ROMs? I hear fresh evo is a good one. I don't mind losing all the sprint stuff as well as HTC. I prefer launcher pro so any widget loss doesn't bother me. I heard about the method to rollback 2.2, root it then whatever, but everywhere I found today from that day says that a simpler method should be out in a couple weeks. It has been a month, is there a simple point and click method yet?

Nexus :: Stock 2.2.1 With Root Access

Oct 1, 2010

I've been real happy so far with Stock N1 and universal androot. I love the root apps.
Now that the update is out (2.2.1. frg83) I wanted to update and still have root access on stock. I was not able to update because I had deleted stock apps like amazon, twitter, etc., with titanium. I had to flash a stock ROM and then update to 2.2.1 worked, but no root access.
I even unlocked the bootloader to see if that would give me instant root but it didn't.

How can I go about getting root access on my n1 with 2.2.1.? I want to run a stock ROM and use rooted apps like titanium. Also to get future updates like gingerbread OTA. I do not want a custom ROM like cyanogen. Just stock 2.2.1. with root access. Whats the easiest way to achieve this? I tried installing amon ra, and it still wouldn't give me root access, couldn't install superuser, busybox, etc.

Aug 10, 2010

So I have used the one click root thingy. Have the superuser app. Tested. I have root (look screenshot). Now I want to install busy box. When I got the app from market to install the latest I got this. What I want to know. Is it safe and if so whats safe to erase from the system folder. (would kinda like to get rid of the stocks and footprints app) but really not sure its not linked somehow and I get some big system error , since these apps run all the time. (actually I want to install busy box to be able to remove these apps anyway). I installed titanium backup and it installed busybox version 16 or soemthing. Problem is other apps like the cache cleaner doesnt find busybox installed even if I do it via titanium app.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Stock / Persistent Root ROM

Mar 18, 2010

I recently converted to BH_MAN stock BH2 image + root. I'm having the following situation:After the install and performing the Master reset everything is working fine, I proceeded to download some applications and everything was operational. I rebooted my phone (for some reason I do not recall right now, happened 2 days ago) and when it came up, I had several applications corrupted: There was an icon in the same place that the original was with the same name but different icon, and if I clicked it would advise that the application was not installed. I would go to my downloads and the application management sections and see the application and it wouldn't work till I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it.Now, last night I also uninstalled the T-Mobile "My Account" software and let my battery drain out completely to have it sync correctly (that was another problem I was having, batt would say I was at 20% and I had 4 bars in the screen, fixed now) and once I let it charge completely I powered it on and some applications were uninstalled again, but the T-Mobile Account software was there again! Can anyone explain if this is a permanent problem or is there something to be done?

Samsung Fascinate :: Removing Root / Going Back To Stock?

Sep 20, 2010

It seems that rooting the Fascinate and fixing the Google Search issue on the soft key and removing some bloatware is pretty easy, and I'm actually contemplating it once I get a Fascinate. Here are my questions: If I root the phone, I would not get OTA updates, when 2.2 came out? I would have to remove the root in order to get that OTA update to 2.2? To remove the root, I would enter the following into a command prompt on the phone or on my PC?

How To Remove Root
adb shell
su (its going to ask you for permission on your phone so hit allow)
rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
rm /system/xbin/busybox
rm /system/xbin/su
exit

Once I removed the root, the OTA update would just come up? Is there a difference between unrooting and returning my phone to stock? How to go back To stock - Android Forums.
