How to reset Google Wallet via web?
Is there a different way to automatically purchase apps from the Market than using Google Wallet? I have had a "problem" with Google Wallet using inactive credit/debit cards for payment and if it does not get resolved I may have to close my Google Wallet account to solve the issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedCan you see your Google Wallet app transaction history on the web somewhere? It _looks_ like you should be able to see purchases made using the Google Wallet app at [URL]..., but this page just lists my Google Checkout transactions -- there's no record here of anything I bought using the phone app. As far as I can tell, the only place where I can see any record of those transactions is on the phone itself by selecting "Transactions" in the Google Wallet app. Is there a way to see this stuff online that I'm missing? And if these transactions _are_ only recorded on the phone, will all record of them be erased if/when my phone is wiped?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know that the stuff regarding the secure element inside certain phones is kept on a strictly need-to-know basis and Google only lets certain people have access, but how about the apps that are running on the phone, such as Google Wallet?
What I mean is, is it possible to write an App that communicates with something like Google Wallet (not necessarily this app specifically) instead of an NFC device? At its simplest, when you pass your phone over a credit card terminal, it communicates via the NFC chip to the wallet application. What I'm looking to do is bypass that terminal and just communicate directly with the app via another app, sending the necessary commands directly. Is this possible? (If so, I'm not looking for a how-to, just if it's doable or not).
I know it might be complicated and there's a lot to learn, APDU commands and all that - that's fine.
the Google account option is missing in the add account settings. My phone is on stock rom, its name is gfive g9 which is a Chinese phone.I had rooted the phone. And it was rooted when I performed factory reset.
I have already tried reseting it again 3 to 4 times but the problem is still their. These are all the options available, but their is no Gmail option present. Also along with this problem is that the play store doesn't open at all.
As we all know there is no way to remove a google account once u add (mostly on gingerbread).
So this trick is for u
U have to be rooted
Open root explorer
Navigate to
Root/data/system/ and delete
Accounts.db
now reboot
You are done

First, my phone info: Galaxy S2 I9100, ICS 4.0.3
My question: How do you restore app data from Google servers after a factory reset?
When I upgraded from Gingerbread to ICS, the phone warned me I would be losing all my data. Fortunately under "Settings - Back up and reset" I had checked the "Back up my data" as well as the "Automatic restore" options. When I completed the upgrade to ICS I not only automatically retained all my app data, but I didn't even have to re-download any apps. All my apps I had on Gingerbread, along with all the data, had been successfully and automatically carried over to ICS.
Recently I've been having issues with my home button. After rebooting and some other troubleshooting, I decided to factory reset my phone. Again I made sure the "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore" options were checked. When I completed the factory reset it was like I just powered on my phone for the first time (OBVIOUSLY this is to be expected as I performed a Factory Reset).
Under the "Automatic restore" check box it states "When reinstalling an application, backed up settings and data will be restored". So I began to download and reinstall the apps I had before. The problem is NONE of the apps restored with the data I had backed up to Google servers. Did I do something wrong?
I'm a bit irked because I believe I received the exact same "you're going to lose your data" warning when I upgraded to ICS AND when I performed this recent factory reset. The difference is when I upgraded I got all my stuff back, so I figured after the factory reset, when I reinstalled my apps I'd get the data back too. I think it's only fair if Google really WILL restore data after an upgrade, but NOT restore data after a factory reset they should annotate that in their warning. Also maybe include a statement like, "After performing a factory reset you will not be able to retrieve app data from Google Servers. We recommend installing a third party app to save your important app data." But instead you get the same warning with two different results.
I factory reset my old unused S3 and I'm now trying to re-purpose it (as a wifi only device). The problem is when I re-add my Google account to it, Google Play automatically starts re-downloading ALL my apps to it and I don't want that (probably over 100) - I just need 4 to 5 apps from that account re-downloaded (I don't mind doing it manually). How do I get Google Play to NOT automatically re-download all those apps?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been a Windows mobile user for over 10 years, and am slowly converting over to Android.I say slowly because what I'm doing right now is running a version of Android on my HTC Touch Pro2, off the storage card.I intend on switching over to a full-blown device soon, but right now, this method is allowing me to explore the OS and learn about Android before switching over. One of my biggest concerns is the transition from apps that I have used for years, and rely on every day.For example, I've seen several wallet apps in the Android Market, but I've not found one yet that appears to have a version for the device as well as the PC Desktop.I use Spb Wallet daily, and have hundreds of things stored in there. Half of the time, I'm using it via my device, and the other half of the time, I am using it while sitting at my PC at home. Are there some apps available that offer Desktop-to-device synchronization?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI may be purchasing a Droid soon. One thing that worries me a little is the GPS/Dock function that "activates" when you dock it in the media or car dock. From what I understand this triggers due to magnets that the Droid senses.
I use a leather money clip that holds like 10 cards then has a clip with a magnet in it to hold bills. (See picture).
My concern is that if I keep the Dtoid in my right pocket with my wallet it's going to activate and start draining the battery like crazy. As the phone would be too big to fit in the small "change" pocket on jeans that I used to use for my LG Voyager and previous phones it has me a little worried how I'm going to tote it around. I may buy one of those glasses cleaning clothes and wrap it in that, but the magnetic portion could still be an issue.
what app do you use to securely store your credit card, bank card, passport data. On WinMo I was using SpbWallet, which worked great and as a new Desire user am I looking for a good alternative. Also, what app do you use for managing your iTune library in order to listen the music on the desire.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best "Wallet", "Password Protector" type program out there for the Android OS? I would prefer one that has a desktop application as well. I was reading the forums on "Splash ID" but it is getting ripped because it cannot tether to phone, you have to use WIFI to sync it with desktop application. I sent them an email and asked if they were looking into a tethering solution and they have yet to replay and it has been a while!
Any thoughts, a good "wallet" application anyone?
Firstly - any good digital wallet apps for Android? I have about 50 passwords and logins I need to keep securely on my phone - any you can recommend? Secondly - dabs were doing a micro sd 16GB class 6 card but are no longer stocking - I have Googled but can't find any others that aren't eBay - should I go with class 4 or anyone know where I can buy a class 6 one? Thirdly - I like to listen to music on my phone - what's a good pair of in ear headphones for between 35 and 70?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs anyone aware of a wallet app that uses the phone's camera to scan cards for backup? i don't really relish the idea of manually entering all my card nos. and info when the camera scanner function works so well recognizing business cards.
you know, I'd like to slap my credit card on the table, open the app and scan the card. the app should recognize the cc logo (mc, visa, discover, etc), card no., exp. date and prompt me for the verification no. on the back.
the app should be able to recognize most of the card types that people typically keep in the wallets: drivers license, library card, health ins, auto ins., loyalty cards. for those that it doesn't recognize by scan, the user should be able to select from a list or enter a "custom" type.
i haven't found anything like this. does one exist?
I'm new to droids and I decided to root my x. Everything was fine until I started deleting bloatware. I deleted something and now my market and all google related programs don't work. Gmail, talk, market, etc. I downloaded all of the original apk's and reinstalled all of them and still nothing. Also after deleting all bloatware everything worked fine until I factory data reset.
When it rebooted that was where the problem started. I'm not an idiot when it comes to these phones and know what I'm doing usually I just deleted something that a list told me was safe to delete and apparently wasn't.hopefully someone can help me out. Oh and I am unrooted now due to bringing it in to verizon to get it warranty'd out. I wanna fix it that way I can sell it to a lucky someone for cheap and no 2 year contact rather than sending it back to motorola.
I am turning my Hero in for a new EVO and I had information in my Google Voice account that I do not want anyone at the office to be able to dig up...
I performed a factory reset (per the manual) and I want to be 110% sure that no one will be able to "resurrect" my old Google Voice app and see anything...
I would like to know if it is possible to reset my email account's information and settings for Google Opinion Rewards. During the beginning part of Google Opinion Rewards, you are asked to put in things such as your occupation, ZIP code, and full name. I was sleeping during the release of this application, and so a younger family member was playing around on my Nexus, they apparently put in a bunch of random information. Obviously, those choices affect the possibilities of receiving surveys, and I would like if I am able to reset it.

Why a Froyo factory reset really isn't (plus, a fix for upgrade issues) | Android Central Its in reference to the X but I am going to factory reset tonight and see what happens."If you're one of those folks who is less than pleased with your Droid X after the Froyo update, this one's for you. Android Central Forums member Fabrian was at wit's end, and even talked of ditching his X (blasphemy!) because of the random bugs, general weirdness, and plain old unsatisfactory performance of his unit since the update. His last-ditch effort and ingenuity seems to have paid off. The secret? He has completely disabled the Froyo feature that restores data from previous installs. It's really just a matter of turning off the automatic restore feature before logging back into your Google account. It's a little odd that "Automatic Restore" is still checked by default, even when "Back up my data" isn't, but there you go.The method isn't too painful and does require one more factory reset, but the payoff appears to be a much smoother experience. Makes sense, too restoring data from Eclair to Froyo probably isn't a very good idea even if it is convenient.
We've verified it here, a hard reset in Froyo isn't really a hard reset, as things come back by themselves. Follow Fabrian's instructions, and you will have a pristine Froyo installation on your Droid X (or Nexus One -- Sense on Froyo has no setting for this that we could find). Any troublemaking leftovers will be no more, and won't get downloaded and installed automatically again. If you're being plagued with myriad tiny bugs in your Droid X after the update, give it a try! [Android Central Forums] Thanks Fabrian, nice sleuthing!"
If you do a master reset with the Nexus one will you lose all your apps? even the ones that you purchased?
