How do I put a custom rom on this phone? I tried using ram manager, but it doesn't have my phone listed.
I have a Samsung Exhibit II 4g phone. Yesterday I powered up the phone and it went to the start-up screen that displays the phone's logo: "Exhibit II 4g," and it froze on that screen. I tried to remove the battery to reset it. I looked at some online forums about "brick walls" and tried to remedy the problem with those. I think I tried to reset to the factory configuration. I tried using the Heimdall One Click, Odin, Z image, Winrar, etc, etc. I just followed the steps because I thought that reseting the phone to its factory default setting would correct whatever was causing the phone to freeze. I am a total novice with this stuff, what "flashing" or "rooting" mean.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI am having a little trouble rooting my Samsung Exhibit II 4G. It is running 2.3.6, and I have tried multiple methods.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got the phone rooted successfully using the Zerush method. It's been working well for a few days now. I installed all kind of software on it and not a single problem.
Today, I came across a new software called Adfree from the Android Market. It installed fine. I went to shut off my phone and restart, and it stuck on the first screen of Samsung Exhibit 4G.reboot my phone again? I have tried hard reset holding the volume down button and power with no luck.
I am looking for a way to restore the Samsung Exhibit II 4G to the stock 2.3.6 ROM. NOT 2.3.5. I have found a way to get 2.3.5 on and I did but did not find a way to upgrade to 2.3.6, as Samsung's Kies software said my phone was not support in Kies 2.0. I flashed Peach Sunrise on it and am using it now but for future reference or errors would like to find a way to go back to stock 2.3.6. Any way or have the stock 2.3.6 rom that I could flash?
I used this thread originally (before I installed Peach Sunrise) to get back to 2.3.5:

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was trying to update my Samsung Exhibit 4G (tmobile) last night and my computer got a blue-screen error so restarted it self.
Right now I have a Exhibit that can not do anything.
On the screen it saw
"Firmware upgrade fail !"
" Try using recovery mode"
I can not go into Downlaoding mode, I can not go into Recovery mode
ODIN does not recognize my phone at all
Kies tries to connect to my phone but the circle turns infinite number of times and gives error.
Kies connection troubleshoot doesnt work either.
I do not have any backup thingy in my kies too, even i do i cant connect the phone.
I'm currently a product tester for LaptopMate/Anker Power, and I just thought that if I could get enough people to want to buy an extended battery for their Samsung Exhibit II 4G, I could suggest them to make some. I have close contact with one of their employees, and she is willing to try to make it happen if enough people wants it.

Ive got a Samsung exhibit 2 4g and I want to root it. Except when I connect usb, it always says cannot install driver. I've gone to device manager and it has two listings saying "SAMSUNG Android USB Composite Device" with exclamation marks next to it. Ive factory reset the phone and I have usb debugging on to. It also wont list for adb devices. Ive burnt about 6 hours for this and nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt was working fine until today. I haven't been able to get any new emails all day today, but my Gmail email comes in just fine.
I tried deleting the account from my phone and re-adding it, but it still doesn't work.
It is my first time to run cyanogenmod on my phone. I have the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 2 4G and I tried to install the CM 11 of jfbs. I did all the backups and I wiped the data and cache and installed the ROM and Gapps. But I rebooted my device and the Cyanogenmod logo appeared with the spinning arrow and it didn't want to stop spinning (or loading if you want). My phone was stuck on logo and the spinning arrow. I forced the phone to turn off and when I rebooted it I worked but after a little time it went back to the logo and the spinning arrow. I re-installed the ROM and Gapps but like before, the logo and the spinning arrow still there until now and it won't even stop and lead me to the lock screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Exhibit II, rooted and unlocked. Since I bought it I have been having a most distressing issue:
Sometimes I try to make a phone call and the sound is completely turned off (on both ends of the call). The other side cannot hear me, and I cannot hear them. I can see the time running, the call is connected (I can see that even through the other device), but there is no sound on both ends, regardless of what is the other phone (mobile or land line).
1. No, I am not pressing mute or add call with my face.
2. It does not work at all to press speaker phone, mute, or any other button while on call.
3. No, I do not plug in headsets or headphones prior to calls, nor at any other given time. Since I got the phone about 2 months ago, I only plugged the headphones once.
4. Yes, it does take sometimes 2 or 3 reboots so that the problem goes away. But the problem does return very often. At least once a day now.
5. Restoring phone to stock did not work at all.
6. The issue is also not related to my ROM, as I already installed different ROMs (currently, I have PeachSunrise, but I am using Go Launcher Ex on top of it). I already used, with the same effect, the stock ROM, Go Launcher Ex after rooting over stock ROM, and now Go Launcher Ex on top of PeachSunrise.
7. I uninstalled all active programs (and their related services and processes, which were Lookout and Easy Battery Saver).
8. I even tried replacing some files to see if I could have the problem solved, but nothing changed at all. And, since I am not very savvy at these things, I tried replacing what I personally thought could be linked to the problem. These were:
a) phone.apk
b) contacts.apk
c) contactsprovider.apk
d) Phone_Util.apk
e) PhoneCrashNotifier.apk
f) PhoneErrService.apk
g) SpeechRecorder.apk
I rooted my Exhibit 4G and removed some apps (I guess one too many). I lost all system sounds. Now when I try to download from the market, I get "process.android.media" errors. I think I need to go back to stock. Problem is, I can't find a stock rom.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a T-679. it is only lightly modded. I still have stock UVLE1 with Clockworkmod recovery...v5.5 i think. All has been well until recently I have been trying out a lot of new apps. recently i got the adw launcher and camera sensor. now when i reboot i see one Samsung logo, then tmobile/android logo and jingle, then another Samsung logo and it hangs here. if i wait some time and start pushing buttons I see that the phone seems to be active. if i push the power button then the vol-up/down i hear the sound of the volume being adjusted. also very curiously i just found that if i hold down the home button and press the power button i hear a shutter sound!? In some instances, haven't figured out if its a particular button press of just random, i can get the lock screen to come up, which then allows me to unlock the phone and all works normally... until i reboot again.
edit: I just checked I have CWM recovery v5.5.04,b I have a backup from a while back and i just made another backup I also tryied wipe cache/dalvik which i thought it worked because i think it booted directly after that, but i just tryed again and this time i see no benefit/effect

View 6 Replies View Related I recently just flashed my Samsung galaxy s2 t989 (tmobile) to ICS from the ported version. Now I'm wondering about custom Rom from this website.
1. Can I use any custom rom? Or does it have to be for my specific phone?
2. All galaxy s2 custom rom threads say it for samsung galaxy s2 but doesn't it matter if im using a samsung galaxy s2 t989? Just it just have to be the general device?
3. Could I have a link to where they post custom rom for my device?
I have not found any custom rom for my phone......
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S 2 and I recently installed MIUI on my device. Didn't like it, so I flashed it back to the stock settings and now my Wifi isn't functioning. It will turn on and scan for networks for a few seconds, then turn off automatically.
View 9 Replies View Relatedok im looking for a good custom rom for this phone.
my main reason for this is to get back app2sd and yes i know rooting will grant me a simular function.
What custom rom to use would be most welcome since i dont know wich support this phone.
secondly i would love information on what "custom rom" samsung provided via the use of volume down+power key at startup and if using it voids my warranty.
So I flashed the latest nightly and stable Cyanogenmod yesterday and it as garbage. Keyboard wasn't working, wifi, lots and lots of problems. Then I flashed Vision-X, which was very nice, however my wifi was not working. I figured it was the kernel so I tried to download one and flash it, didn't fix it. So I went back to stock. Then I came across Omega ROM, which looks amazing. I want it, but I'm afraid that if I go through the flashing process, the wifi won't work again, and to get it back to stock is time consuming. I came across this page: [REF] GALAXY S4 (I9500/I9505) GSM / NON-HLOS.bin - MODEM'S Collection (Odin/CWM/TWRP) - xda-developers
which is supposed to let you flash one of those files in odin and it corrects the wifi issue. The problem is, how in the world are you supposed to know what version to get? There's like 50 listed. I have a Sprint SPH-L20, which is another thing that confuses me, I figured out it's a "I9505", but no where on the box, or in the phone does it say "I9505".
After attempting to root my device with [URL] .... My device boots up, but touchscreen doe not work. What can i do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedPhone: Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, Android 4.4.2
Settings/Notifications: Use system sounds: ON
Set your ring tone as custom ring tone which is .midi file. Please note that .midi is default extension for custom ring tones for Android 4.4, .mp3 can't be set as ring tone (at least, on my phone).
For incoming Viber call: do not answer and wait for other party to hang up.
Ring tone continues to play even after disconnect, the only way to stop it is to exit from Viber (or to terminate Viber using Task manager).
I have samsung galaxy pocket duos gt s5302..I have rooted it and flashed CWM recovery then I tried to flash custom compact kernel made by Deadly. After I flashed through CWM my phone got hard bricked It wont turn on What should I do?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am very new to custome ROMs. I have tried several so far and found that they do not have the "Active Sync" email type. I use my phone for work and have to have "Active Sync" for our corporate email. I have to have full outlook functionality for work. What I need to add to get that back. It was on Gingerbread, but I want a current ROM. I have a Samsung Captivate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung Galaxy Reverb has nobody willing to build CM10 for it, so I decided to take on the task. It built without error - processed the kernel and all the CyanogenMod 10 files just fine and generated the .zip. However, after flashing the .zip I end up with a Samsung logo, then a black screen.
The compile went through without error, so I'm a little lost as to what I should check next. From doing a little searching it seems the kernel is at fault, but what to do about that. Am I supposed to flash the kernel separate from the .zip that the CM builder outputs?
I just went through the process of compiling a custom ROM and they used a stock kernel. I would like to incorporate a different kernel when I compile and instead of the stock. I know I could compile them separately and have them flash together but I want one zip to flash. Just would like to go through the process to learn.
what I have to do when compiling?'
I have a noob question about ROMs. I have rooted my phone and "Pimped my captivate".
If I now flash a new ROM what would that do to the following:
1. Apps - Would my apps be replaced by apps from the ROM, which means I will loose and gain some apps.
2. Contacts - Would I have to resync my phone to get my contacts.
3. Rooting: Would I have to reroot and again "Pimp my captivate".
