I just install the clockwork recovery and it's stuck on there I tried restoring default turning it off and on it will stay on there I think it's bricked and I don't have any backups what's do I do

My phone is stuck at clockworkmod recovery 3.2.0.1, and it wont even load up to the stock screen of android, I've tried zefie's technique of putting the phone into emergency mode, but it still didn't work.

Right now I have a Exhibit that can not do anything.
On the screen it saw
"Firmware upgrade fail !"
" Try using recovery mode"
I can not go into Downlaoding mode, I can not go into Recovery mode
ODIN does not recognize my phone at all
Kies tries to connect to my phone but the circle turns infinite number of times and gives error.
Kies connection troubleshoot doesnt work either.
I do not have any backup thingy in my kies too, even i do i cant connect the phone.
I am running Koush's clockwork recovery and I am stuck in recovery performing back up. Is there anyway to reboot from recovery there is no option and when pulling the battery it just brings me back to performing backup?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a T-679. it is only lightly modded. I still have stock UVLE1 with Clockworkmod recovery...v5.5 i think. All has been well until recently I have been trying out a lot of new apps. recently i got the adw launcher and camera sensor. now when i reboot i see one Samsung logo, then tmobile/android logo and jingle, then another Samsung logo and it hangs here. if i wait some time and start pushing buttons I see that the phone seems to be active. if i push the power button then the vol-up/down i hear the sound of the volume being adjusted. also very curiously i just found that if i hold down the home button and press the power button i hear a shutter sound!? In some instances, haven't figured out if its a particular button press of just random, i can get the lock screen to come up, which then allows me to unlock the phone and all works normally... until i reboot again.
edit: I just checked I have CWM recovery v5.5.04,b I have a backup from a while back and i just made another backup I also tryied wipe cache/dalvik which i thought it worked because i think it booted directly after that, but i just tryed again and this time i see no benefit/effect
I put Cognition on my phone today, and made a backup image of the stock 2.1 before putting Cognition on. I decided I want to go back to the Stock, so I clicked the "manage backups" part of Clockwork, and "recover" on the image I saved. Next, the phone rebooted, and looked like it was installing the backup image, and rebooted again. However, it will not go past the White AT&T screen. Is my only option to use Odin to give it a factory reset? Or is there an easier way for me to do this?

After unsuccessfully attempting to install a custom rom, I believe I have accidentally deleted the stock rom for the device..So now, whenever I turn the device on, it automatically brings me to CWM recovery. I have tried to install a different rom onto the device unsucessfully, giving me an error saying "format() expects 5 args, got 4" It also says (Status 7). I have also tried to connect my device to my computer and hook it up to Odin, but Odin does not recognize the device.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI think I've tried everything from wiping data/factory reset to wiping the cache in two different places through CWM. I've tried installing 4 different roms of which two of them said they installed but couldn't get them to show when I rebooted. between every rom I performed a wipe and even formatted my sd card. It seems as though the only thing on the internal part of the phone is CWM.
I wasn't sure how to go about using adb method.
The phone is a LG Esteem from Metro PCS.

How to Install ClockWork Recovery:
1. On the menu there should be an option labeled �FLASH CLOCKWORK RECOVERY.�
Press it.
2. Once a popup says that it has been succesful press �BACKUP CURRENT ROM�
3. Your phone will now restart and backup your ROM
4. If your phone does not start backing up and instead boots into a blue menu use the volume
keys to select reboot now and then press the power button. Try to do all the steps again.
5. Wait for it to finish and then it should restart.
Is this considered a Nandroid backup? Is there anything else I need to do as far as backups or is this the best method?
This will allow me to go back to my stock Rom at any point , is that correct?
Then I should use Titanium Backup for data/apps/settings?
I rooted my phone a couple weeks back. I backed up my apps with titanium pro and downloaded ROM manager. I clicked "reboot into recovery mode" from ROM manager and the phone went into recovery.
I am now stuck. I have four options:
1. reboot system now
2. apply update from SD card
3. wipe data/factory reset
4. wipe cache partition
I tried option one and clicked the button on the right side of the phone (the "enter" button), but nothing happens. In fact, none of the options do anything. seems like the phone isn't recognizing the enter button.
I have not flashed clockwork mod recovery. I think it probably requires some type of reboot but i don't know the steps.
I had a stock Captivate with Eclair J6. I rooted and installed Rom Manager with ClockWork Recovery. I made a backup of my current ROM.I then installed the Cognition Froyo Beta. I decided I wanted to roll back to my backup ROM but whenever I reboot into Recovery, I no longer get any option of installing a ROM, update.zip, etc. All I get is a shortened menu that says "reboot, clear cache, wipe user data, wipe internal SD card". I also get an error that says signature verification failed.I tried reflashing the recovery area with a new clockwork update but I get the same result when rebooting into recovery. How can I restore my recovery area to a working state with the normal options?

I have been wanting to install a custom Rom for a while now.
However I always end up getting stuck in Clockwork recovery mod.
I have tried installing clockwork recovery by:
Using Odin (Using this tutorial > [URL]....)
Rooting it first then installing it using the stock recovery. (Like in this tutorial > [URL]...)
Both ways have got me stuck booting into clockwork recovery mod and I've tried other things like clearing the caches and stuff. I'm fed up with slow gingerbread! >~<
If I am rooted and do a backup by booting into Clockwork recovery and do a backup, does that save everything on the internal memory of my phone/tablet?
I have searched all over and I am not clear if it includes stuff I copy (like music, pictures) or it is just the ROM, apps and app data.
It seems like you can only backup to the internal memory. What do you do if the backup gets too big to fit on there?

I am new to the rooting and custom Rom game and I have a question. In stock form if I did a factory reset, everything on my phone was wiped, music pics everything. But when using the clockwork recovery it doesn't wipe out my pics and music. Why not?

I have a G2 rooted with the Desire Z HBOOT and clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.7 and everything was working perfectly when randomly out of nowhere my backups no longer restored properly. It would either say md5 sum mismatch or it would restore and get stuck at HTC bootscreen. This happens with any rom i flash. I've tried wiping/factory reset/formatting sdcard/flashing older cwm/ and even removing and creating new md5 images. NOTHING works. This is important to me because I ususally flash back and forth between different roms and I like being able to back them up.

Yesterday I powered up the phone and it went to the start-up screen that displays the phone's logo: "Exhibit II 4g," and it froze on that screen. I tried to remove the battery to reset it. I looked at some online forums about "brick walls" and tried to remedy the problem with those. I think I tried to reset to the factory configuration. I tried using the Heimdall One Click, Odin, Z image, Winrar, etc,etc. I just followed the steps because I thought that reseting the phone to its factory default setting would correct whatever was causing the phone to freeze.
