Is there a way to download an apk from Android Market without having it installed?
I have a Nook Tablet and some of the packages (for example, Hacker's Keyboard) cannot be installed normally and have to be placed in /system/app/ in order to be installed. I tried to download an apk from the market and it got installed and caused some difficulties and I wish to avoid this.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

I am trying to upgrade from 1.6.21 to 2.0.26.I have tried unmounting my SD card, clearing the cache for the android market, the download manager and the original youtube app.

Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
I have tried to install 4.4.3 on my Nexus 4, I got it OTA a couple of hours ago it has now been stuck on the "Installing system update" for about 1.5 hours now, the blue bar scrolls across and just resets at the start every few minutes. I'm now not too bothered if I can have the update I just want my phone, can I just turn the phone off while it's on that screen? Do I leave it overnight attempting?

i did factory factory reset, cache wipe, and davlik wipe after that flashed the Kernel Aroma installer, the rom and the gapps from this link.after i flashed them i rebooted and the phone doesnt pass the reboot screen, got stuck on it for few seconds and then restart and stuck again.

I have a rooted android phone " G-TiDE E60 " With MTK6575 and Android 2.3.6 , the phone doesnt have a recovery mode it only have something called " factory mode " where i can test the mobile's performance and send reports
When i try to enter the recovery mode , it shows a screen with an android and a triangle " ! "
i tried a lot to install cwm with Mobile Uncle , and when i go to recovery mode after installing it , it shows the " G-TiDE " Logo and keeps on it doesnt show anything else

I had done a mistake 2 days ago by installing XGS Serie's ROM in my DHD. After installing the ROM from recovery the phone is'nt booting and just animated X. This is only the 3rd time I installed a custom ROM hence I haven't got any solution. how to recover my phone at least to make it to factory reset.

After a long search on the internet and a lot of trying I decided to open a thread here. My phone is Star N800 MTK6575 with Android 4.0.4. When I tried to install ROM through recovery mode it showed me this: "Failed to verify whole-file signature"
I tried to install ClockWorkMode Recovery without success SP flash tool and Odin also disappointed me..

1- load the drivers
2-select the img file (rom) in batch tool
3-install it to device by clicking restore.

Today, I looked online for overclocking my LG Optimus F3, and I found this thread "[MS659][F3] Freedom Kernel Overclocked" (I'm a newbie xda won't let me post links yet). It said you could achieve a 1.4 GHz overclock (my device has a 1.2 GHz processor). So, dummy me, I got all excited and flashed the MS65910c firmware to my phone like the thread said I needed to have (I didn't know that that would switch my service providers as I had Virgin Mobile). So, I'm a little confused still... Can I still have Virgin Mobile service with MetroPCS firmware? If not, I want to restore my device back to Virgin Mobile firmware (LS720ZV6). The problem is, I am also a little confused with the flashing firmware thing. Can I flash .zip files instead of .kdz files (I couldn't find LS720ZV6 .kdz firmware files on the web)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently flashed my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 with the Resurrection Remix ICS v.1.9.1 ROM and everything went fairly well except that my external sdcard looked like it had been totally erased. While this was irritating it was not devastating (had a backup) but when i attached my sgs2 to my computer to copy the backup back to the sdcard i noticed that everything was there, i hadn't lost a single file. I went back and looked at the card via my phone and it still looks empty but i did notice (after further inspection) that it is almost full. I checked to make sure view hidden files was enabled, it was, but still nada (using OI File manager and File Explorer).
