General :: How To Recover Files Off Of Internal Storage

May 13, 2014

HTC One Does not have external sd card, only the "Internal Storage"

I was trying to multitask and ended up wiping Internal Storage through TWRP. Is there any app / process I can use to recover files? Undelete[app] errors out saying it's not a fat filesystem Disk Digger[app] only searches for specific file extensions, which would cover things like my TitaniumBackup & TWRP Backup files

When I plug it into a computer, it shows up as a Portable Device, and no problem that I've downloaded (Recurva / PCI / EUSUA) is able to search on portable devices, only physical/logical drives.

Is there anything I can do to attempt to get data back from the sd card?

General :: Recover Deleted Files In Android Tablet?

Oct 28, 2011

I need to recover deleted files from my Android Tablet internal storage folder ( /mnt/sdcard ). This is mounted like a fuse filesystem. I've run Hexamob Recovery PRO from Android Market in my smartphone and it recovered very good some deleted files from my vfat storage folders (both internal and external sd card).

But the smartphone version is not running correctly in my Motorola Xoom because it don't detect internal storage (fuse). I asked to developers about a tablet version and they said me they are working in a tablet version but fuse file system is very hard to manage. Any other app to recover my deleted files from a fuse file system?

General :: Recover Lost Files From Internal SDCard Of Android Phones

Mar 12, 2014

Today android phones are coming with an internal storage which is called the internal sdcard. Because of this the need for external sdcards is vanishing day by day. But when your phone is factory reset you lost all the data stored in it while in case of external sdcard you have an option to save your data. If you accidently lost all the data stored in your phone then don't worry I have a solution to get it back. This trick will work on phones having mass storage mode support, if you are running android 4.1 jellybean and above then root your phone to get mass storage( the tutorial is different for different phones),

If you have accidently lost all your files, photos and videos from your phone then after this do not copy new files to the phone. This also include clicking photos and capturing videos. If you copy new files to the phone then you are actually reducing your chances to get back your deleted photos and videos and other files. In short just don't download anything to your phone, do not use the internet on your phone till the time when you get back your lost files back.

This trick will only work on android phones having mass storage mode and MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) options. If your device is rooted then you can enable mass storage mode on your android phone. After enabling mass storage mode you can get back deleted photos, videos and all files from the internal storage of any android phone.

Requirements
1. Recuva for Windows 7, Windows 8
2. A USB data cable.

Now Follow The Steps Below
-Download and install recuva. While installation do not uncheck any option.
-Now connect your android phone in mass storage mode. Connect it to pc a notification will appear in the phone, tap it to enable mass storage.
-Now open My computer and you will see Removable disk.
-Open recuva and click Next, on the next step All Files will auto selected. Again click Next. Then choose In a specified location and click Browse.Choose the removable disk or MTP disk here and click Next.
-In next step put a check mark in Enable Deep Scan and click Start.
-After scan is finished you will see the list of all deleted files. Green circles is means that file can be recovered while red circle means unrecoverable file.
-Now check the box next to Filename to select all files. Click Recover on the bottom right and choose Desktop .Your deleted files will be recovered.

General :: How To Access Hidden Folder On Android (4.3) / Recover Lost Files On Nexus 7

Oct 7, 2013

I have lost a few pdfs which I have been reading for weeks (!) on my Nexus 7 (Android 4.3). Via the reading history of my pdf reader (Moon+ reader) I can see that at least one file is still present in the cache under the following folder address: /data/data/com.google.android.apps.docs/cache/filecache2/c042587322c4a438463efbd2cc533cbf/mypdf1.pdf

How can I access this folder? When accessing the device via the Android File Transfer sofware for Mac, I don't see this folder. I have access to Android/data/com.google.android.apps.docs/files, but this folder contains no files but only another folder (called "pinned_doc_files_not_for_edit") which is also empty.

The lost pdf is still there, I can open it in the reader via the reading history, but I would like to access the folder to see whether other lost files (which are not in the reading history) are also still present. To be clear, the file which I can open is also not detected when searching the device for pdfs.

Or can't I use the java files and have to edit the smali files? Of course that's much harder...

General :: HTC One - Permanently Rename System Files

Jul 31, 2013

I'm basically trying to rename an audio file to kill the camera click, but found an issue that might give me problems later with other things I might want to do.

Each time I try renaming the file, the file renames itself back to its original name after I reboot the phone. For example, if I add .bak or an extra space in the file name, it disappears once I reboot.

I'm using ES File Explorer on my stock, rooted Sprint HTC One. I mounted the /system path as R/W, and the file is /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg.

General :: System Files To Sync With YouTube?

Jul 8, 2012

I have a DOMO Slate N9 SE tablet running on ICS 4.0.3. Everything is working fine but I cannot sign in to YouTube. When I click on YouTube for the first time, it crashes saying 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped' and the next time it gets stuck on 'Signing in'. If I clear data, again it says 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped' and then keeps on getting stuck at signing in.

But when I use applications like Opera Mini and Flipboard and load a video, the YouTube app opens and runs the video. When I click on 'like' to like that video, I get a pop-up screen asking me to log in using my Google account. When I click on it, I get the same error, 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped'.

I think there are system files missing in the device. The ICS ROM did not even have CalendarSyncAdapter.apk and I had to manually install it. So I think even the YouTube error is due to some missing system files.I have tried several other versions of YouTube app too but I get the same error.

ADB To Find And Recover Files From D4 With Dead Screen?

Mar 19, 2014

I think the connection between the body and screen broke. Nothing shows on the screen, and there's no touch input available. But the device is still able to power on, reboot, and is recognizable from my Windows PC. I'd made a fairly recent nandroid backup, so I'm not in an emergency phase, but there are some files and photos I'd still like to try to recover from the broken device. Basically just files on the internal SD card. I was rooted, running stock Android on the latest OTA.

I'm not very experienced with ADB, but have started to give that a shot. I've tried various ls commands, but am stuck at a point where I get an error. Using a console (Console2), I ran ADB, then used this command:

Code:
adb shell ls -R /storage/sdcard0/
I got this error:

Code:/storage/sdcard0/: opendir failed, Permission denied

I'm not sure if this error is because I didn't open shell with root access. But when doing that, I run into other trouble because I'm not familiar with the linux-style commands. Another small issue I've bumped into is that when running the ls command on large file trees, the results are cut off by the console's 9999 line buffer.pull all the data from the entire internal SD card?

However, when I try to flash/copy/install files from my folder (yes these files are in the same folder as adb.exe and fastboot.exe, which is the folder I used in the System Variables) It can't either find these files or it cannot open these files. When i put in the command 'path' however. I does give me the path where the files can be found.

Samsung Galaxy S :: Deleted All Folders - Files - How To Recover

Nov 10, 2010

I purchased an unlocked and unbranded Samsung Galaxy S i9000 from Amazon.

After playing around with it for some time, installing all sorts and getting to know how to use it I decided I would perform a factory reset to "clean" it before continuing to use it "properly".

Before performing the factory reset I navigated to "My Files", selected delete, then selected every single folder and file and deleted them.
I then performed the factory reset.

Now I am missing 4 images which were available as wallpaper in "gallery" and probably several other files/folders.

I thought the factory reset would return the phone to its original state and reproduce any folders/files I may have deleted in the process. I thought they might be stored in a hidden "partition" or similar which I had no access to.

Anyway my questions are how can I restore my phone to its original state and which other files/folders would have been present initially but have now been deleted by me?
